@rousette

I'm sure you won't mind that your excellent link gets 'pinned'.

Some of the things MM did before marrying H.

I work for the National Theatre and the story isn’t true, the Mail flat out made it up.

Of course they didn’t cover Will and Kate taking a private jet to go on holiday to Cornwall either... agenda much?

OVienna · 01/08/2020 10:36

blurpity can you tell us more? We like facts here. Whatever you feel you can say, that is.

TheChristmasPrincess · 01/08/2020 10:40

Wait!

So Archie hasn’t been outside their property at all? That’s really concerning. I know there’s an ongoing pandemic so he obviously can’t go to baby centres or playgrounds, but surely they could take him for a walk around the area. Just find somewhere secluded where it’s unlikely you will bump into people and make sure there’s enough room between you and other walkers. I know the paparazzi are keen to take photos of them but surely they knew that would happen when they moved away from the U.K. They can’t keep him locked up forever because they’re worried people are going to take photos of him 😐

At least Doria is living with them, it must be nice to have another person to play with.

AnneOfQueenSables · 01/08/2020 10:42

They're hardly cooped up. They have garden grounds. I wouldn't be taking my toddler out of my large garden in the middle of a pandemic. There's no need.

Serenster · 01/08/2020 10:49

@blurpityblurp what's the source for Will & Kate taking a private jet to the Isles of Scilly, please?

Lockupyourbiscuits · 01/08/2020 10:52

Why is it relevant if they have taken a private jet
They are not the major shareholder in an eco travel company

so really we are now judging them for not wanting their child to be papped.
TheChristmasPrincess · 01/08/2020 10:56

They can’t keep him inside for ever because they don’t want him to be papped!

My0My · 01/08/2020 11:00

I think it’s all about new experiences for a toddler. Normally parents seek these out. Staying at home even with a large garden doesn’t provide all the opportunities a child needs. I have 14 acres but I would never have stayed in for months. However they seem paranoid about being photographed so I assume he won’t go to school either. What a shambles.

So what if william and Kate go on holiday? It was only a short trip! At least they are getting out!

OVienna · 01/08/2020 11:00

@samcro I understand this anxiety and I have sympathy for it. But I am not sure how they live their lives expecting it wont happen. Launching lawsuits feels like a siege mentality and I dont thinking will ultimately work. After the pandemic lifts they will need to figure out how they can manage the situation going forward. I do think if that's stayed in the UK it would have been easier for Archie if not- MaH might feel- for them. This is if H could secure the agreement his parents got.

OVienna · 01/08/2020 11:01

So fucking typos

MeghanSussex · 01/08/2020 11:01

How can anyone in the public eye decide that moving to LA and not being papped are mutually possible? It defies all logic.

TheChristmasPrincess · 01/08/2020 11:02

As I said before hand, I understand that they have a lovely big house and a garden for him to play in which is great for him. But he’s missing out on so much visual stimulation if they keep him in the same environment all the time. Even going for a a walk down the road would do wonders for his cognitive development. If you can keep to a rural location with minimal amount of people I see know reason why they can’t take him for a stroll in his pram or put him in a sling when they walk their dogs. I managed to take both my under 2s and dog for a socially distanced walk once a day during deep lockdown and they had a nice big garden to play in too.

I understand the need to keep him protected but it can’t be at the expense of his freedom. Wasn’t that the whole reason why they decided to go abroad in the first place?

mrscampbellblackagain · 01/08/2020 11:05

I would have thought William and Kate got a helicopter to the scilly isles?

Mummy195 · 01/08/2020 11:10

So everyone now knows that Archie has not had visitors? We are in a middle of a pandemic. He just turned one not too long ago, you would have had issues about her exposing a baby if she was seen taking him out. You don't know the reason they kept him home, but considering the Safer LA advice of safer at home, it's sounds obvious.

Using a baby as a stick to beat MM with is quite low tbh.

Yes if they went to the Scillies they probably did do. If I understand correctly this is not unusual in terms of how people do get there from the mainland. Where did they get it from?

Yep, I remember him dismissing that little story.

If I had unlimited wealth I would travel by private jet especially in these covid times. I wouldn't tell other people not too though Wink

KatherineParr4 · 01/08/2020 11:21

I don’t think anyone goes to the Scillies by private jet. There is no airport there. They would have gone by helicopter like many people. It’s either helicopter or the ferry which is horrendous and the security issues would have made it a nightmare. I went to the Scillies 20 years ago by helicopter. They have their own helicopter and William can fly it himself.

Mummy195 · 01/08/2020 11:22

@OVienna

This was why I asked - to get to the islands you essentially have to take a plane, a helicopter or the ferry. Hence why I asked for the source for a private plane. To me it seems quite likely that the attempt to sneer at them could well be based on the fact that they flew there in a small plane (they are all small planes!) and therefore it must have been a private jet. But it's perfectly normal to fly there.
TheChristmasPrincess · 01/08/2020 11:33

I don’t see why they can’t include him on a walk with the dogs every now and then. It allows him to see more of nature and visually explore a new environment. It would be local to where they live. They will already be social distancing. They will be going somewhere quiet and discreet anyway because they will want to be avoiding attention and detection.

I’ve just checked the LA lockdown rules and it states “Californians are still allowed - and encouraged - to get outside for fresh air and exercise. Park and beach closures vary at the local level, but the state is updating a running list of permitted outdoor activities, which can be found here. A few examples of permitted BMX biking, canoeing, cycling, rock climbing, crabbing, trampolining and walking the dog.”

I’m not saying they should be visiting beaches and mingling with people at parks, but they should be attempting to take him out on small, local walks. Honestly if this was a friend I would be staging an intervention.

Serenster · 01/08/2020 11:34

@KatherineParr4 there's definitely an airport on St Marys, you can fly there from Exeter or Newquay

Samcro · 01/08/2020 11:36

so true. if they were papped walking about with him...they would be judged for that. they really can't win.
