Since they are in the news more or less daily why not a thread on this. Latest I've read over the last few days is that Meghan is going to produce a film from a book. And later this month she is teaming up with Michelle Obama for project on gender equality. Both sound interesting projects.

@Viviennemary

That looks an interesting article in the Times. Nobody seems to have any positive things to say about them. Not even MN. The nice thread hasn't had a post for ages.
only because the people who posted there are on this thread. wasn't it the plan to have one thread? rather than a "them and us" I am still "positive" about them. I don't dislike them and don't think they deserve the hate they get.

I do not think criticism has to be personal but it’s legitimate to look at actions and consequences

Another excellent sentence - in fact that sums it up pretty well for me. It's just a shame that, because even the most rational criticism is anathema to some, it's so often reported and deleted

I must admit i don't fully understand what is meant by Charles' private funds

Thing is, Blossom, you're not meant to understand. Far better minds than mine have researched the dubious anomalies around the Duchy's status, and come away believing that it's largely based on royal whim and greed

i wonder what percent of the court gains will go to anti bullying charity. and what percent of the income went to elephants charity from the disney voice make over. these are the gains that they said they would give to charities.

Meghan told me everything I needed to know about her character the minute she uttered those words to Tom Bradby in Africa, "And by the way, thank you for asking. Not many people have asked if I'm OK."

If she SERIOUSLY thought that was an appropriate moment to bemoan her lot in life, then words fail me.

"And by the way, thank you for asking. Not many people have asked if I'm OK."

Where were these 5 friends then? And all the other friends? This was after the people article wasn't it? I thought they were all really concerned about her so why weren't they asking her if she is ok?

Blossom513 · 12/07/2020 11:14

Obviously I have my own theory on this but if I state it, it would get deleted.

Viviennemary · 12/07/2020 11:14

That Scobie book will be old news by the time it comes out. It's meant to be painting them in a positive light. Finding Freedom is a bit of an unfortunate title in these days of CV. I bet he wishes he'd not bothered,

Blossom, Good point, but I suspect the "not many people" was a dig at the Royal Family - you know, "the family she never had." And the same people they both raved about in their engagement interview as being so welcoming and supportive.

bluebell34567 · 12/07/2020 11:18

they were welcoming but then changed because of their attitudes.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/07/2020 11:25

I suspect the "Africa interviews" were what turned it around for a lot of us
It takes an unusual mindset to pick a background like that for displays of self-absorption, especially when the tour had been going so well

bluebell34567 · 12/07/2020 11:36

the moment when MM was near crying on BP balcony was the moment for me that somethings werent right.

Samcro · 12/07/2020 11:41

when did she "near cry" ?

bluebell34567 · 12/07/2020 11:42

i dont exactly remember, videos must be online somewhere.

JaJaDingDong · 12/07/2020 11:43

When was that bluebell?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/07/2020 11:47

I expect bluebell was referring to this ... I wouldn't have said Meghan appeared to be "crying" myself, but who knows

bluebell34567 · 12/07/2020 11:48

one of the BP balcony events. there werent many so i think it is easy to find.
there happened things on the balcony and PH had to tell MM to turn back to crowd. it was very obvious on her face that she was near to cry. she tried to hold it.
i am surprised MM positives cant remember this.Smile

bluebell34567 · 12/07/2020 11:49

she wasnt crying but i am sure she was crying inside.

[quote FannyCann]If Harry can’t tell his past from his elbow, he shouldn’t enter the Commonwealth shames

Clarkson from the Times today.. sorry, I don't think I can do a share token off my iPad.

My issue with Harry and Meghan as President and Vice President of the Commonwealth Is that neither of them live in a Commonwealth country and Meghan isn’t a Commonwealth nationality. From Harry’s talk, he doesn’t seem to understand a lot of what he are saying about the Commonwealth (he confused it for the U.K. at times) and don’t currently have any ties to it, it all seems.

It was at one of the big occasions, might have been Trooping of the Colour and it was Meghan's first engagement after having Archie.

I saw it linked on here on an anti-Meghan thread saying that it was proof she didn't know how to behave on the balcony when the national anthem was being played, that Harry "has to tell her to turn round and face the front twice because she keeps talking " and how dreadful, rant, froth etc..

When I looked at it I saw that yes she has turned to speak to Harry twice but when she does face the front she looks really upset and ready to cry. She seems genuinely distressed and the fact that people will still use it as a stick to beat her with speaks volumes.

I got the impression that Archie was crying in the room behind the balcony and she really wanted to go to him, hence her distress, but there's no way of knowing that.
