@Mummy195

So why is this guy still working for them? They can't claim ignorance surely?
Well I would imagine they can't claim ignorance now.

It's just so difficult to believe that he orchestrated or supported it. I mean, I understand there was a rift between the brothers but this is next level stuff. When you consider how much they both dislike the media I guess I just find it hard to believe.

Just an opinion though.

thisenglishlife · 10/06/2020 12:40

The British Royal family knew they had a leaker, but did not do any investigations until now (if they have). Some of the examples: Sussexes leaving, information on nannies, Beatrice's wedding, Sussex move to LA. This should have been a huge security concern (safety of H&M included). Unless someone high up okayed it/relased through their staff?

Dan Wootton (The Sun) had details about a particular story that was hinted at, but not mentioned again. He killed the story for other exclusives. Then all the leaks began, he even had the exclusive papped family photos of the empty commercial plane trip to Scotland). Dan wasn't even the royal reporter/editor, but became it after this. It was Emily Andrews and she had to leave (essentially pushed out, she got a job at the DM after six months).

It seems like Harry may have given false information to BRF members to find out who was leaking. Emily Andrews printed the wrong date for the baby shower. She had been given the false information, she insisted that it came from one of the royal offices.

Now there is proof that The Sun paid the partner of royal staffer Christian Jones (current Communications Secretary) for stories. It was said that CJ was a Sussex hire, but he wasn't. Remember when CJ was papped with Meghan? She didn't really get papped otherwise. It was also at the time of Prince Philip's accident.

Mummy195 · 10/06/2020 13:17

Byline does not print lies.

This rumour has been going on since last year. Though ppl had thought Christian was Dan's lover. And there was of course suspicion that it was infact Jason Knauf. DW was not even a royal reporter before, suddenly he is all over the H&M information? He even said it himself that it's the RF that has been feeding the press info.

For a long time, I truly believed that the press were just cooking up, stirring, and that the RF is not involved. But how dumb does W have to be to do the economy flight PR stunt. Why does W&K keep these ppl around.

Is this a positive thread or a negative thread?

Seems to be a negative thread against the Cambridge’s. Which is odd

thisenglishlife · 10/06/2020 13:34

Piers Morgan before he turned against Meghan:

2016
On rumours of their engagement, Piers encouraged the Prince to “bring it on!” not just because he believed Meghan to be superbly well suited to Harry and “perfect princess material”, but also because the country needed “a royal wedding to take the edge off these tumultuous times.”

2017
Following Harry and Meghan’s engagement in November 2017, Morgan wrote he was “delighted” to hear of the news, joking the prince had “finally made a sensible decision when it comes to his personal life.”
In December 2017, Piers dubbed Meghan a ‘hero’ in his annual summary of the year that was. He wrote: “She’s a lovely lady; smart, warm, funny and more than a match for Prince Harry. Their engagement gave us all some much-needed cheer.”

2018
Morgan claimed the upcoming nuptials were a “massive PR bonanza for the royal family” which they had been “milking like ravenous fairy farmers.” But he continued to sing praise for Meghan, writing: “I feel incredibly sorry for her that her family are betraying her so badly.”

thisenglishlife · 10/06/2020 14:27

Piers shutting down commentator/changing the subject when he said that said that there are things we can't legally discuss at the moment (that will make us more sympathetic):

Yeah I didn't say it was lies. I'm struggling to wrap my head round it, that's all and really hoping it's not anything to do with the DoC.

I know very little about it so it is quite shocking.

I actually don't normally pay much attention to the RF.

I don’t think you’re allowed to question the OP with regards to a negative or positive thread
I asked the question previously and was soon put in my place

Mummy195 · 10/06/2020 15:19

Oh yes English I remember that Kevin McGuire interview very well.

this is not the first time presenters have shut down anything royal related - except when it's H&M. In that case, bring a whole panel to discuss them. I have not seen too many expects discussing PA of late (yet H&M were discussed on something as trite as him telling her the ceremonial music has started) do you remember this one? it was on all the discussion shows, yet when K shrugged off W touching her, not a single word)

Look at this Loose Women youtube video at 4.30. Seriously, I cannot for the life of me remember producers cutting off anyone who rants about MM.

I meant to say the DW youtube video is when he talks at 2.19

We don't know which royal, if any, is involved but the staff are certainly sources (eg. "my palace source tells me"). Has this been investigated by their employers?

There definitely anti-Meghan gossip being pushed by palace staff and seemingly a huge negative campaign that really took off after the successful Sussex tour of Australia/Fiji/Tonga/New Zealand.

Nishky · 10/06/2020 19:22

@Nanasueathome ah, I see.

When you give, don't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing. Just sayin'

The Mayhew Home, an animal welfare charity that MM became a patron of, is now in the green (for year end 2019).

Must have been her £5 a month donation that did it.

thisenglishlife · 11/06/2020 17:48

It was reported as a £10 a month sponsorship in Archie's name. Her job is to raise awareness of the charity, at least it hasn't closed!

Roussette · 11/06/2020 19:31

Here is an interesting article worth a read...

www.irishtimes.com/opinion/anne-harris-meghan-markle-s-exile-stands-as-permanent-rebuke-to-royal-family-1.4274763

Interesting....

derxa · 11/06/2020 20:33

Crying they were. Crying into their pints over Megan.
And that was after a hard days work cutting down all the trees and bushes.
Because they read in the Irish Times that racism was all over Ireland. All over. It was "even in the bushes and trees" we were told.
So they cut them all down. All the trees and bushes gone.
Now they are all sobbing over Megan.

thisenglishlife · 11/06/2020 20:40

What on earth on you on about?

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 12/06/2020 07:12

Really good article, thanks Roussette.

derxa?? I'm not understanding your last comment.

She is quoting a comment from the article. Why? I have no idea. Maybe she is the Druid character. Derxa/Druid, sounds alike.

A spot on article Roussette

English, yes H&M charities are doing very well. I cannot understand why other Royals are not fundraising though, like the Wessex have had their foundation income so low for over 3yrs now, but I don't understand how the expenditure can be higher. Who finances that ?

The £10 is a well known marketing strategy. If a pleb thinks they can only afford £2, they feel comfortable that a well known person is donating £10 which is not far off. So rather than give up thinking their £2 is too insignificant, they give that. Usually, charities will then also hold bigger events like Gala dinners etc. for the big once off donations. At the end it's money coming in to the charity.

Thanks 😂 I never read the comments under articles.
Mummy195 · 12/06/2020 09:44

I was just reading this strange article by Camilla T on The Spectator.

www.spectator.co.uk/article/why-boris-johnson-poached-prince-williams-right-hand-man

It's about the appointment of W right hand man, Simon Case by BoJo.

Things that jump out at me are :

  • he was appointed 2months before H&M wedding, then left about 2 months after their exit.
  • CT seems to confirm he was responsible for the budget flight fiasco.
  • She describes him as 'very patriotic' and a 'gossip'.

So on top of this, I presume the guy is also responsible for the Wimbledon and Football match 'Cambs are sitting with the plebs' only not, PR stunts.

Make of that what you will, but I have my own views on this guy.

As a side note on this silly little article : how does H&M taking a private jet 'snub' HMQ
