New thread

Has anyone seen that Lady Colin Campbell has written a book on Harry and Meghan using insider information. Apparently she’s has members of the Markle family to stay. She’s brave!

God, Frogmore House is bloody stunning! Are there any aerial photos of the Cottage I wonder. Off to google.

FannyCann · 11/05/2020 21:42

I haven't forgotten Fleas. But Meghan may have. Hmm

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/05/2020 21:46

FannyCam I believe the phrase is "building your part"Wink

Oldbutstillgotit · 11/05/2020 21:51

Ok I know I need to get a life but I have just read on Twitter that H and M are denying involvement with Omid Scobie’s book.

RosesandIris · 11/05/2020 21:54

'The One Show got in touch and asked if I could shine a light on a group of veterans that lots of people might not know of,' he said.

Oh God, not more 'shine a light' nonsense.

Who lives in the actual house then?

Exactly he has to do the time. It is unfortunate for the younger generation of royals that they don’t get to live in the splendour their predecessors would have in the past due to a “backlog” of deaths. One would have thought they could put up it with with fortitude and patience. However, it appears Harry has to thrive, not survive.

That first video is atrocious drivel. It’s buzz word salad. Thrive and survive, this too shall pass, soak up the positivity. He also talks of family support: just wondered if this is an inadvertent dig; and if I hear him say you guys once more I’m going to fucking scream. I know it is supposed to mean men and women. But to me it is incredibly demeaning and misogynistic language. I am a woman or perhaps a lady. I am most certainly not a guy. For a woman, who claims to be such a feminist, I cannot comprehend how she reconciles using such terminology. In any case, Harry has definitely drunk the Meghan cool aid. 🥴

How I hate the phrase 'shine a light'. Reminds me of Donald Trump's light therapy inside the body as a treatment for CV. Shove a torch up yer arse.

Wolfgirrl · 11/05/2020 22:00

@MissEliza

I wondered that.

It seems like all of a sudden they're releasing videos here, there and everywhere.

Demonstrating their prowess as public speakers maybe? Trying to stay relevant? The momentum of their departure has been squashed by covid, I guess they're trying to keep the engine running until they can bag the prime newspaper spots again.

But, who knows.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/05/2020 22:01

Altogether now...

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 11/05/2020 22:15

Gosh Fanny Bagshot is pretty impressive.

So do we think H&M would have been happy to stay for Frogmore house?

ButteryPuffin · 11/05/2020 22:19

there must have been another house available or Charles was offering a country mansion.
Or they should have played the long game.

It's definitely been reported that Charles offered to set them up with a country house in the Cotswolds and/or in Wales. They declined. Think the suggestion was they wanted to be closer to the bright lights of London, hence Windsor as a good location. But the cottage wasn't grand enough, it seems.

On the long game point, who will get Highgrove when the Queen dies and everyone moves up the ladder? In theory William but the Cambridges seem settled in Anmer Hall now (unless a move would be desirable to put distance between them and roses with their thorns...) so perhaps Harry could then have taken over Highgrove?

Rainbunny · 11/05/2020 22:22

I thought the Russian named denied owning the mansion, and that David Foster arranged for them to stay there?

You're right Winterlife I thought early on David Foster had denied involvement but it looks like he admitted arranging it, but he won't say who the owner is.

TinRoofRusty · 11/05/2020 22:24

I'll laugh my arse off if HRH and Phillip cut Harry off in their wills. I'd not give that brat a penny if one of my grandchildren behaved like this.

Viviennemary · 11/05/2020 22:31

I wouldn't be surprised if Harry and Archie are both removed eventually from the line of succession. But that would leave Andrew next even worse. What a shambles. I can't see any point in them retaining their position if America is to be their permanent home.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 11/05/2020 22:34

I’m not so sore how easy it is to remove someone from the succession. I’d imagine an act of Parliament would be required. Someone more knowledgeable - not hard Grin may know.

Exactly Buttery

Q&PP - Windsor, Sandringham (Royal stud), Balmoral
C&C Highgrove, Clarence House, Birkhall

There's probably one or two others I've forgotten. What are they going to do with them all?

TinRoofRusty · 11/05/2020 22:39

She might live so long George is no longer a minor, or she could leave properties to the children of William and Catherine as they're in direct line. Hope Catherine goes for another baby, bump Harry even further down, he's awful.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 11/05/2020 22:40

I could see Highgrove being given to the nation, and run by a charitable trust.

SunbathingDragon · 11/05/2020 22:42

Ok I know I need to get a life but I have just read on Twitter that H and M are denying involvement with Omid Scobie’s book.

I’ve seen several articles by the media that state H&M gave interviews for the book. They will need to be very careful here because if they did comply and it can be proven, it won’t look good for their court case or their general credibility.

Viviennemary · 11/05/2020 22:44

The Royals always find a way or so it seems! The most likely outcome is that they will divorce. I can't see them playing the celeb circuit indefinitely. I think Meghan will do a Jackie O and find a mega trillionaire next.

RosesandIris · 11/05/2020 22:44

It’s Diana all over again isn’t it? Denying cooperation and then it turns out she was fully cooperating. Of course they cooperated.

I can't get it up to be sad for people who make their own beds and then have to lie in them, tbh.

I can’t see that much of a reshuffle. HMQ’s children have their residences and will almost certainly stay there until they die. Charles is not really going to be fussed about his nieces and nephews considering his view for a slimmed down monarchy. Is Charles dies first and it goes to William, I would say even less so. Presumably HMQ has a number of other spare properties that she owns and I think Charles will either keep them and open them up to the public or possibly even sell them. Both Charles and William are aware of public opinion so I can’t see someone who has left the royal family getting one, especially when William has three children (might go on to have more) who it would be appropriate for them to go to in the future.

Back to Harry though. Wasn’t he part of Kensington Court? Once he married Meghan I thought he dissolved his staff who had worked for him and William there.
