New thread

Has anyone seen that Lady Colin Campbell has written a book on Harry and Meghan using insider information. Apparently she’s has members of the Markle family to stay. She’s brave!

@Becles

Don’t be obtuse. My comment focussed on the very different and flamboyant preaching style and delivery of the US pastor’s sermon. There was no attempt to make any racial undertones whatsoever. He was over the top in style if you compare him to the usual British clergy delivery. My point was that this juxtaposition was stark especially to the traditionally stuffy aristocracy. That he happened to black is neither here nor there. I resent your attempt to impute racial slurs when I commented on delivery style.

I also read that she told the Queen to drop dead. Google it. Wouldn't put it past her. Something happened.

Teddy1970 · 14/05/2020 10:28

I read a blind item that an A lister married to an actress wants to come back to his home country and serve it's people, but the wife is having none of it, not sure if I believe the blinds but it's odd Harry seems to Skype in on tv more than ever, we've seen more of him now than when he lived here!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/05/2020 10:48

@wombandovaries don't worry, I got a similar response on another thread from other posters when I made a similar point. I got a lecture on the black American preaching style, as though I might not be aware of it.Grin

I've seen some very fine black American preaching. This wasn't one of its best examples. It was too long, too repetitive, and too sentimental for my tastes. Members of the RF were rude to side eye and snigger, but that might have been more to do with the fact that he massively overran.

I hadn't seen this before. Not sure I believe it really.

Viviennemary - FGS that just sounds like a spiteful rumour, the same as all the other ones like "Archie doesn't exist, MM wasn't really pregnant, Harry let slip on a tour of Africa that he was sterile but begged for it to be kept quiet". Just utter nonsense and extremely hurtful to them, but the sad thing is that some people will believe that, so the bizarre rumours continue.

wombandovaries · 14/05/2020 11:11

@Myimaginarycathasfleas

Thanks I did get quite ruffled by that!

MissEliza · 14/05/2020 11:28

I certainly don't believe she told the Queen to drop dead. That's beyond ludicrous.

BalloonSlayer · 14/05/2020 11:55

Viviennemary, did Meghan find a rose under a bell jar and attempt to touch it? The Queen, enraged, confronted her - raaaaahhh! - and Meghan fled, terrified, only to be attacked by corgis in the grounds as she tried to escape on horseback.

People blame royal brides for expecting fairytale marriages, but project fairytales on to them at the same time.

Mummyoflittledragon · 14/05/2020 11:56

That link reads like a poorly thought out piece of creative writing by a 13 yo.

Inspiralcarpetry · 14/05/2020 12:19

The National Enquirer keep seeing Elvis! Depending on the day, he can be in a Walmart supermarket in Wisconsin, or never left Graceland!
Big pinch of crazy salt with them!

DulciUke · 14/05/2020 12:24

Yes, the National Enquirer is nuts. Elvis dropped out of society to raise his alien baby type stories.

EvilPea · 14/05/2020 12:24

What i cannot understand is why the need for somewhere in Windsor and the cotswolds? Given that they are under an hour away from each other and plenty of people commute from the cotswolds to london for work and thats without the helicopters / police escorts.

I think they did get confused of frog more cottage (which is still beautiful , long story short I stumbled past it shortly before they moved in) but certainly not the big house akin to the others or the house.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 14/05/2020 12:26

The Daily Mail are so desperate to keep printing what they see as negative press coverage of MM

This is true, but they hardly have to look very far given the endless opportunities the couple keeping providing

So she keeps a diary, so does the Queen

This is also true, but I suspect the outcome might be slightly different. After all, last time I looked the Queen wasn't noted for whining to journalists and using others' disadvantage to make it all about her
I don't doubt for an instant she has robust views of her own, but thankfully she recognises that it's often best to keep schtum

EvilPea · 14/05/2020 12:28

I cannot believe she told the queen to drop dead. Did the national enquirer get mixed up with eastenders and real life?

EvilPea · 14/05/2020 12:29

We all know diary keeping is common place in the royal household
Queen Victoria did
Queen Elizabeth did
Prince Andrew (how else would he remember going to Pizza Express Woking)

ButteryPuffin · 14/05/2020 13:15

Elvis was probably working in the Woking Pizza Express at the time of Andrew's visit

WindsorBlues · 14/05/2020 13:25

Definitely more likely that Elvis was at the pizza express in Woking than Andrew was Grin

WindsorBlues · 14/05/2020 13:28

@EvilPea Do you think Amner Hall is bigger or smaller than Frogmore Cottage?

BalloonSlayer · 14/05/2020 13:41

I'd guess the clue is in the name . . . Hall v Cottage

WindsorBlues · 14/05/2020 13:50

slow claps for @balloonSlayer

MissEliza · 14/05/2020 13:58

I can see an element of unfairness here. The Queen bought properties for all her children when they married. She also bought Amner Hall for William, who one day will get it all. Yet Harry is lent a cottage. I'm not sure of the arrangements for the rest of the royal grandchildren. If Harry resented that, I'd be on his side.

Mamamia456 · 14/05/2020 14:00

Puzzled - If you read the article it is such a non-story.

Oldbutstillgotit · 14/05/2020 14:02

H and M were offered a place in Kensington Palace , in fact the Gloucesters moved out for them. They could have lived there plus had a place in the country .
Not aware of HM buying houses for her other grandchildren ; Peter and Zara live on Anne’s estate .

WindsorBlues · 14/05/2020 14:03

Harry was offered the massive apartment right next door to W&K but they refused it as they wanted more privacy away from the Palace. Whoever was living in it (Kents or The Gloucesters) where to vacate it so it could be renovated for the Sussex
