Hope you don't mind Dave.

Gosh I used to read all sorts of books to my lot when they were that age... not sure they had preferences which book, it all depended on their mood as to whether they would try and throw it across the room!

Ooooh Archie is like Harry isn't he!

Winterlife · 06/05/2020 21:28

Mine never threw books, at any age, at least, not while reading. They always listened to stories pretty intently.

Again, I don't see the resemblance to Harry. Different shaped eyes, nose, mouth, and head. I can't see Harry's chin, so no comment on that. But, kids change over time.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 06/05/2020 21:35

Mine weren't book throwers either, they loved stories (they would throw other stuff though, and my niece threw a brick through a window when her baby sister came home...)

I can see the H/Arch resemblance, but then one baby looks pretty much like another to me.

Roussette · 06/05/2020 21:37

Mine eventually loved books but at 1 year old, not so sure.

Samcro · 06/05/2020 21:39

To be fair my first didn't. I get confused as second was disabled. So ignore my comments about that.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 06/05/2020 21:45

I read to mine from birth... not because I am an earth mother but because it was very boring having small babies who wouldn't be put down. So with no.1 it was the newspaper, back of the cereal packet, whatever, and by no.2 it was whatever book no.1 liked. I could probably still recite the Hungry Caterpillar and Each Peach Pear Plum. (both wonderful books, but repetition can dull anyone's enthusiasm)

Winterlife · 06/05/2020 22:37

I can still recite Goodnight Moon, 20 years later.

Our daughter used to point to the moon and say “moo, moo” at six months old.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/05/2020 22:37

The only similarity between Archie and H as a baby is that they were both babies. Archie takes after his mother, he has her eyes and jaw. (noses are hard to judge as the bridge on a baby's nose takes a while to develop).

The Windsor genes have a habit of making themselves known so Archie isn't out of the woods yet.

Really? I haven't noticed anything like that.

catinb0oots · 06/05/2020 22:56

Yeah her jawline and nose are completely different to how they used to be

Roussette · 06/05/2020 23:04

Hadn't noticed that. If so, it's like very many people who are in the public eye who do something.

I don't care whether she has or she hasn't TBH especially as it's unnoticeable AFAIC

Cerseirys · 06/05/2020 23:13

Who cares? I'm not sure there's a single woman in the public eye who doesn't get some sort of procedure.

Winterlife · 06/05/2020 23:14

It is noticeable, or I wouldn’t have noticed it. But it is very, very good work.

I don’t care either. It’s what she had to do for the career she wanted.

Viviennemary · 06/05/2020 23:18

It is good work. But she has had a lot of plastic surgery to change the way she looks.

Roussette · 06/05/2020 23:24

I think she looks beautiful and yes if she has had work, it's very well done.
It might be noticeable to others but not to me... there are many celebrities where it is so so OTT what they've had done (won't name them here!) too much botox, lips like god knows what, everything changed but it would never have occurred to me that Meghan is the subject of a lot of work.

Does it matter ?

Samcro · 06/05/2020 23:30

It only matters if you want go rip her apart.
meghan is very good looking, who knows if she has had "work" done,

These days it is so commonplace, that even kate probably has.

She looks good and not plastic

Cerseirys · 06/05/2020 23:37

she has had a lot of plastic surgery to change the way she looks.

I've seen photos of her in her youth and she doesn't look THAT different. I dare say most of us don't look the same as we did 20 years ago! Maybe she's had some work on her nose, although that could also be contouring. Good makeup artists can do wonders - look at the work of Kevyn Aucoin.

Winterlife · 06/05/2020 23:42

LOL @Samcro. She’s good looking because she’s had plastic surgery.

I wouldn’t have mentioned it but for the comment about Archie having her jaw.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/05/2020 23:45

It doesn't matter in the least that she's had work done.

It was only mentioned at all because a resemblance was noted (by me) between Archie and MM. But of course he couldn't inherit her cosmetically altered features, only her natural ones.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/05/2020 23:46

X post Winterlife

Winterlife · 06/05/2020 23:47

Re Kate Middleton-No plastic surgery but she has had either Botox or fillers.

Fartlek · 06/05/2020 23:49

Gosh, I came on to say 'no, not really' to the initial post. Guess I'm in the minority. As you were.

ButteryPuffin · 06/05/2020 23:52

Archie's facial features are very reminiscent of Thomas Markle, but the top of his head and the shape of it is Harry all over.

The nose job Meghan had is common knowledge and as has been said is pretty standard for actresses.

And he was absolutely saying 'dada' at the end. Not 'duck rabbit' which aren't words one year olds say or would even try to.

slithytoveisascientist · 07/05/2020 00:52

I liked the video.

I liked Archie’s behaviour it was sweet and took me back.
Would have been nice to see more interaction with Harry.
And it was a shame the baby couldn’t direct the book play a little more but maybe that wouldn’t have worked for the videos purpose.

Either way a very normal, inoffensive, nice video for charity. Not sure it changes any of the Sussexes past questionable choices. Does make me wonder why they are so happy to share this level of detail for the US market but guarded photos so closely before. But maybe it’s just now he is getting older we will see more of him.
