Is there something seriously wrong with him?

Maybe they sent a MoonPig card and an interflora bouquet?

ajandjjmum · 21/04/2020 11:35

Incredible that five of Meghan's friends decided simultaneously to talk to the same publication about the 'unfair treatment' of her, without her knowledge.

If one of the five spill at some point in the future, she would never be able to escape the proof that she is a liar, imo.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/04/2020 11:41

Pity nobody seems to have advised them to wish HM a happy birthday

TBF they're eight hours behind us, so maybe something will appear later ... or maybe it won't

"Incredible" is the word; if the friends can prove that Meghan knew and are prepared to do so, she's taking on hell of a risk

He's someone who had all the help at his fingertips to help him manage the media. PR consultants that were able to turn round the image of Charles and Camilla.

But decided to go his own way and make a complete blunder of it all. He's a victim of his own misjudgements.

And who cares about his badly timed announcement that he's cutting the press off. It's just another failing in his own attempt to manage the media.

Lordfrontpaw · 21/04/2020 12:04

It's really not difficult.

'We both love the UK, but want to focus on our little family right now. There will be updates and birthday/Christmas photos issued because we know you all love the baby - but we really want to let him have as 'normal' life as possible away from the glare of publicity that can be so harmful to the children of the well-know. We have decided to move to the US to be closer to his mums family and to try to live away from the glare of the British press - but we still remain devoted to dads family. We want to make our own way in the world, like any other family - we may make mistakes but these will be ours to make. We love you all, thanks for the house and wedding, XXX'

I wonder who else is a client of the Agency?

Goldengroveunleaving · 21/04/2020 12:21

We have decided to move to the US to be closer to his mums family

They may have particular difficulty selling that one - it would have been easier to have moved Doria over to the UK, and there isn't really anyone else in the picture!

KonTikki · 21/04/2020 12:28

Thanks for the House and Wedding ....
Priceless Grin

RosesandIris · 21/04/2020 12:47

Lord
I think you’re right. It’s the time of angry superiority that grates. Just show some bloody humility and gratitude for once.
I also think the American PR firm is trying to keep them in the news at any cost. It’s a total disaster.

RosesandIris · 21/04/2020 12:47

Tone not time!

Lordfrontpaw · 21/04/2020 13:02

It reminds me of when non/minor-slebs go on reality TV shows and then seem to believe that they have a glittering career ahead of them 'doing stuff' - so no natural extension of an existing career or step towards a related career (ie a sports person going on to present a sports show).

You see the growing desperation of perfume launches, wafer-thin biographies, baby clothes, presenting really bad tv shows/games, etc anything that someone has presented to them to add their name to.

Sorry but these two don't have 'it'.

peppermintcapsules · 21/04/2020 13:08

God, imagine if they scribed something like that 'everyone loves the baby' and 'thanks for the house and wedding'. Even worse!

Lordfrontpaw · 21/04/2020 13:10

I'm not sure it could be worse, to be honest. Giving a joint middle finger (whilst expecting support for whatever venture they dream up) is just very unclassy...

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/04/2020 13:15

@KonTikki 😂 literally priceless.

Allflightscancelled · 21/04/2020 13:25

Because PR is all about keeping them in the news. No matter what.

It really isn't. If they'd got half decent PR advisers they'd be advising M&H to stay on the downlow for a good bit, and to really think about how they want to portray themselves, and what they want to achieve.

Lordfrontpaw · 21/04/2020 13:26

Gerald Ratner was in the news...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/04/2020 13:33

I also think the American PR firm is trying to keep them in the news at any cost

No doubt, but if they've got a particularly trashy type of PR adviser who cares only for the money that's what's going to happen

Unfortunately the sort who'll also protect them have gone, but then that was down to their own total lack of judgement so they'll just have to live with it

Lordfrontpaw · 21/04/2020 13:41

They can say 'no' to their PR adviser... Or maybe they are...

Packingsoapandwater · 21/04/2020 13:43

He had been brought up to understand how to play the game and know how things need to be done/said to get the desired effect.

But this is the thing: I don't think he has been brought up to understand how to play the game. I think he's grown up feeling that those rules and protocols are repressive and stop him doing what he wants to do. He doesn't realise the extent to which they have protected him.

Harry's behaviour and attitude over the last year or so really resembles a rebellious teenager. It's all very "everyone should fuck off, but first pay for my security" in a regal version of "Get out of my life but first give me and my mates a lift into town."

What's frightening about it is that he's verging on 40, but yet he's behaving like a 14 year old. It's as though he's has absolutely no guidance whatsoever. He is coming across as the most spoiled rich kid in existence.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/04/2020 13:46

They can say 'no' to their PR adviser

They can, yes, but to decide whether the advice is worthwhile or not takes judgement and I'm not convinced they have any

Frankly, Packing's description of "behaving like a 14 year old" seems to me to be spot on

ShleeAnKree · 21/04/2020 13:51

@Packingsoapandwater exactly. That is what is going on!! Kevin and perry

YgritteSnow · 21/04/2020 14:04

So very this!

NameChangeInfinite · 21/04/2020 14:35

I think the problem with Meghan’s particular type of philanthropy is that we, the public, can’t help seeing an attention seeking agenda and it puts us off.

It’s unfortunate because enjoying the spotlight and being philanthropic are not mutually exclusive. Plenty of famous people love attention and are also extremely generous spirited with regards to charity and good causes etc.

But somehow with Meghan, she comes across as self promoting and virtue signalling rather than being genuinely humanitarian.

I can’t quite put my finger on why that is though, although it has to be said that the tone of that letter is insufferably haughty and vain.

Viviennemary · 21/04/2020 14:44

Agree completely Kevin and Perry just about sums them up. Its all so unfair. Stamp stamp stamp.

SirVixofVixHall · 21/04/2020 14:54

Very misjudged. I agree with RosesandIris and other pps. The timing is terrible too. It all reminds me of the sort of very young adult who has parents who have only told them how amazing they are at everything. Who then go out into the world and feel angry and resentful that the world doesn’t think the same.
