I am really not sure about this. They "felt compelled" to share how the name came about and to announce their new venture but they're not releasing details because they want the focus to remain on the Covid crisis?

This is a mess. Full of contradiction. I finally admit that they have lost their way.

Yes there were plenty of pictures of Harry fooling around with Zara's children, acting chummy with his uncles and aunts and of course during engagements with Kate and William.

Things might have happened behind the scenes but as far as anyone could see, the family dynamic seemed fine.
He also seemed quite close to his father?

I'm wondering if as he got older, and as William started a family, he got more and more annoyed at his rank in the family.
And of course Meghan would not have realised the importance of etiquette, and how they had leave or arrive after certain members of the family, curtsy etc
She would have seen herself as a Princess, not as the wife of the 6th in line to the throne.

WotnoPasta · 10/04/2020 19:51

I wonder if anyone explained what a pecking order is to her before they married. Maybe she just saw Kate and thought she would be a princess the same as her.

Just reading a book that mentions the Golden Jubilee barge trip “It poured with rain. Incredibly the queen and Prince Philip aged 86 and 90 stood on deck for the whole four hours. Duty , tradition, stoicism - their profoundly British behaviour matched the profoundly British weather.”

Harry and Meghan should be ashamed of themselves.

BarleylemonPenguin · 10/04/2020 20:25

“It poured with rain. Incredibly the queen and Prince Philip aged 86 and 90 stood on deck for the whole four hours".

I think that there was also a more recent incident where Prince Philip ended up in hospital because he insisted on standing outside in the rain during an event.

Speaking of a pecking order - it has been noted by many that Prince Philip has spent his entire life walking a few steps behind his wife. Just an observation.

His family seem pretty abusive to me. Fair play to him, he’s met a woman who actually loves him and puts his well-being first, and it’s given him the courage to tell his toxic family to stop using him as their whipping boy

Will and Kate’s duplicitous, point scoring behaviour has been appalling. They probably just jealous that Harry and Meghan have a genuine marriage and that Harry isn’t shagging around on the side

I have read some nonsense but this really takes the Biscuit

CollaborativeBee · 10/04/2020 20:43

Ha ha ha ha

OVienna · 10/04/2020 21:01

Squirrell I can't be bothered to scroll back to see who posted that claptrap you quoted but my word what claptrap it is. I quite agreed

Whoever you are have this: Star .

OVienna · 10/04/2020 21:03

"With you" that is, not the author of said quote.

Jillyhilly · 10/04/2020 21:14

I think Harry will end up resenting her terribly. Love doesn’t conquer all, it really doesn’t. The little niggling things will blow up into huge unbearable things. “What do you mean I didn’t load the dishwasher properly? I gave up my family, my country, everything that meant anything to me, I gave them up for you...”

Viviennemary · 10/04/2020 22:09

I'd be amazed if they were still together in five years. I just can't see Harry being happy tagging along in Hollywood. He'll go back to being a royal where he left off.

OVienna · 10/04/2020 22:11

I thought we were talking about Trevor annulling. Then I remembered that other story.

OVienna · 10/04/2020 22:12

Wring thread!

Yes, it's the little things like loading the dishwasher that are the nail in the coffin which kick off the rows and THEN you get into "but I gave up my military patronages for you"!

What's really sad is that they have a child in the middle of all this, and I can't see a happy ending - they split, Archie is the yoyo baby, they stay together, Harry gets increasingly depressed.

I hope I'm wrong, and that love really does conquer all.

(Where's Richard Curtis when you need him?)

Yes, I think you're spot on there. One day he'll look at her and think enough is enough.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 10/04/2020 23:23

Only once he isn’t foofstruck anymore.

Wheresthebeach · 10/04/2020 23:35

Especially if he continues to be referred to as a bauble, an irrelevance apart from being MM supporting cast. That will grate hugely.

AmIbeingTreasonable · 11/04/2020 07:46

Anyone seen this

ArchePenguin · 11/04/2020 08:01

How can they come back from this?

RosesandIris · 11/04/2020 08:05

I typed in archewellfoundation.org. By mistake. It took me to the speech by the Queen!

RosesandIris · 11/04/2020 08:06

I think she’ll give up on him first. Once she’s bored with him and he’s not furthering her own agenda any longer. Perhaps she’ll start an online course on how to get a DIY divorce...

WotnoPasta · 11/04/2020 08:08

I can’t open that page, has anyone got a clicky link

RosesandIris · 11/04/2020 08:11

I had to type it on myself

ALovelyBitOfSquirrel · 11/04/2020 08:25

@RosesandIris hope it works Smile
