Why do HARRY and MEGHAN write their INSTAGRAM posts with this WEIRD mix of words in block CAPITALS and others in standard script? It's very ODD.

There are some uncanny resemblances in the royal family.

Princess Anne is the double of her aunt Princess Mary when she was younger

lyralalala · 05/04/2020 00:14

*Great aunt even

MrsJoshNavidi · 05/04/2020 00:28

I've always thought H was the spit of Philip. Never bought into n the Hewitt rumour.

Winterlife · 05/04/2020 00:32

He’s beginning to look more like Charles as he ages.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 05/04/2020 01:33

The resemblances in the RF are fascinating.

Edward in middle age looks the image of his mother when she was young.

Charles looks like her now.

William and Harry both have rangy physiques, either from Diana or Philip, but certainly not Charles.

And although each was perfectly presentable, none of the Windsor children inherited Philip's film star looks.

Winterlife · 05/04/2020 01:46

I think most of the Windsors, particularly as they age, resemble Mary of Teck.

Needmoresleep · 05/04/2020 01:47

Charlotte looks like the Queen.

lyralalala · 05/04/2020 02:02

Charlotte is very like the Queen Mother I think

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 05/04/2020 02:06

Can't see it I'm afraid, lyra. I think Charlotte is pure William. The resemblance between them as toddlers is striking.

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 05/04/2020 03:12

I agree, fleas. Charlotte resembles William.

It was a long time ago and I couldn't name the show but I recall watching a documentary about the royal mews and the horses. There was a groom with a striking resemblance to Prince Charles!.....

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 05/04/2020 03:14

Although I love the similarities here. Grin

Lady Louise looks very like the Queen. And Prince Michael looks like Nicholas II of Russia.

Interesting....

Can one take a rain check? Prince Harry puts US launch and citizenship on hold

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/14144d18-7679-11ea-a949-5bf33ccb8633?shareToken=ad28968ef40ee65c7baf54aa631dbd0f

An application for US citizenship would require Harry to renounce his titles and would also expose him to US taxation on his earnings worldwide. It is not known whether he entered America under the 90-day visa waiver programme available to most Britons or whether he has a diplomatic or other special visa. Tourist visas forbid visitors from working.

Winterlife · 05/04/2020 06:27

He would also have to renounce all allegiance to the UK, including its sovereign. The text of the US oath of allegiance is here-

www.npr.org/2019/07/04/737844386/how-the-u-s-citizenship-oath-came-to-be-what-it-is-today

MrsJoshNavidi · 05/04/2020 06:49

So is it not possible to have dual nationality then, if you're a naturalised American?

Winterlife · 05/04/2020 06:52

America doesn’t prohibit dual citizenship. But taking the oath makes that tricky, doesn’t it?

LaMarschallin · 05/04/2020 07:17

Looking back at family similarities, Harry's got the very close set eyes of his father and grandfather.

TimeLady · 05/04/2020 07:23

Thanks for the link to the oath, Winterlife.

That would strongly suggest US citizenship is not going to be an option for Harry. I understood he would have had to renounce his titles in Canada too. Jeez, he's got himself in a right mess, hasn't he?

Winterlife · 05/04/2020 07:37

In Canada, Harry would not have to renounce his title. He just wouldn’t be allowed to use it, officially, as a Canadian citizen.

LaMarschallin · 05/04/2020 07:44

His title - sorry: Title - would seem to be his USP.

The generous invitation to "Call me 'Harry'" wouldn't be particularly newsworthy if it was answered with "What else would we call you? Al?".
If they were Paul Simon fans or something.

TimeLady · 05/04/2020 07:45

Ah, right. Thanks for the clarification. Canada would have suited him better, in many respects.

TimeLady · 05/04/2020 07:48

The Times readers 'comments seem to be a fair reflection of what's being said on here (other than on the Appreciation thread)

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 05/04/2020 07:51

Thank you for those articles Winterlife & Timelady & for the share token.

I laughed when reading that Meghan had called Trump ‘divisive’. Pot & kettle & all that or maybe just takes one to know one.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 05/04/2020 07:53

I don’t think Harry will be wanting to give up his title any time soon. Think it will seem like a loss of identity.
