I was agreeing with you Sunshineand.

Rainbows8117 · 09/03/2020 11:29

It's clear there are conflicting thoughts and comments made but it's not necessarily being said by the same person is it? It's a discussion thread where one poster may think one thing and another poster may think something else. So of course there is going to be conflicting comments made. Unless, you've been keeping track specifically of who has said what and know of posters who are contradicting themselves. Or maybe it suits your narrative that all criticism is nasty and racist by grouping every comment together as if everyone is saying the same thing and agreeing with it all.

This is turning into a TAAT by the way.

True, but few of them are thinking anything good about Meghan. The purpose of those threads is to criticize her, and some of it has been very vitriolic. MN has allowed them to stand, though in fairness, they have deleted the racially insensitive posts. Most of the downright misogyny is still there though. And I think MN has been fairly indulgent on the TAAT thing in this thread and others because those threads can be a bit inhospitable for those of us who challenge the prevailing views.

MichaelMumsnet · 09/03/2020 13:36

Hi all. It would be good to get back to the 'thread for people who are happy for Harry and Meghan' topic - rather than having a focus on commenting on other threads. As we've seen, this rarely ends well and often results in us having to remove entire threads.
Peace and love.

I love this shot.

Becles Me too. Someone said this morning when talking about it... the raindrops look like diamonds raining down.

Mummy195 · 09/03/2020 14:38

Am I reading this correct? MN just basically threatened to remove this thread because of references to other threads. When other threads have been referring to other threads - mostly this one, and nothing is being said? I had to go and check again.

Samcro · 09/03/2020 14:49

how odd. so no mention must be made of ..........
but they can mention this one.
strange day

Haha,

Looking closely, but I must rush for school run now.

No touching today all round, Just Namaste from Charles.

Meghan smiling and talking to Edward, a friendly greet, nod and acknowledgement from William. But everyone else is a bit far from her.

Stunning in her emerald though.

I like that emerald green. Kate looked wonderful too, in a really nice red colour, but I doubt her coat would go round my thigh, she looked so slim! Grin

TheMustressMhor · 09/03/2020 15:16

I thought all the royal women looked superb. Every one of them.

PortiaCastis · 09/03/2020 15:39

I like that pic Mummy the green really suits Meghan and yes she is very slim hmmm now here I am on rations not because of the virus but because I need to fit into the dress I bought to get wed in Blush
Haven't looked at the other Royal outfits yet as am in costalot and have low battery

StarbucksSmarterSister · 09/03/2020 15:42

The lining on Harry's jacket matches her dress. That's probably not protocol of course and she forced him to do it GrinGrin.

They look fab.

LaMarschallin · 09/03/2020 16:03

I noticed that (I love an interesting lining) - impressive attention to detail.

Roussette · 09/03/2020 16:12

Me too. The lining. My DH has one jacket that I love with the most fantastic lining in. Always fancy him when he has that jacket on Grin

LaMarschallin · 09/03/2020 16:17

Roussette

Always fancy him when he has that jacket on grin

Smile

I've got a pink coat which isn't that brilliant from the outside (bit like a pale pink lab coat), but occasionally wear because it has the most amazing flamboyant roses printed on the lining.

Roussette · 09/03/2020 16:23

Ooooh like the sound of that! Linings are very important Grin

JingsMahBucket · 09/03/2020 16:51

@Becles and @Samcro I rolled my eyes when I saw that message from MNHQ. What a load of crap.

Anyway, Meghan looks amazing in that green. I love the cape look she's going for again. The entire dress/outfit is such a great 60s design aesthetic while still looking modern. Even though I hate fascinators, I don't mind the one she's wearing today. Love it all.

JingsMahBucket · 09/03/2020 16:51

Those taupe shoes seem a bit off though. I think black would have been better.

Mummy195 · 09/03/2020 17:54

So a young boxer had to come up with an inspiring speech, while our incompetent, bumbling ex journalist of a PM read ...........................a bible passage, I think.
When Boris was reading, I was thinking this sounds familiar and I was really expecting a speech to follow on that, but nothing, nada.

Him and his mistress breezed through the kids outside the church too, I noticed. I guess they are just those people with no real maternal instinct when expecting.

Amusingly, HMQ is the same height as the choir boys. They did not bow - I guess that is the new generation for you.

How many of these coat dresses does Kate have? I must have seen dozens of those on her. Guess she has them in every colour.

Somehow, natural to see MM and Alex B hug - Alex is always bubbly. Harry was not that much shorter than Anthony J. Typical to elbow pump with Craig D too.

Soon as they stepped over the threshold, H&M went back to usual mode, hand holding, animated talks with kids, MM bending to talk to kids.

TheMustressMhor · 09/03/2020 18:35

BoJo read the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

yolofish · 09/03/2020 18:48

praps you could share it here mustress?

I think Edward has the most beautiful manners.

TheMustressMhor · 09/03/2020 18:53

I think Mummy that a disquisition on a Bible reading is usually best left to a Minister (or at least a Christian).

BoJo could hardly have been expected to comment on the message implicit in Luke 10 (30 - 37)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_Good_Samaritan

TheMustressMhor · 09/03/2020 18:54

That is not to say that BoJo would not be capable of commenting on a Bible reading, of course.

Just that it was not required of him to do this in the service today.
