I go away for the weekend and thread 17 disappears Shock

March isn’t too far away now. Will we see their return for the commonwealth service?

Have they found a new home yet?

Will they make an appearance at Beatrice’s wedding?

ha! annie I think you may have hit the nail on the head there!

Or, little old England is so small and boring, they'd be much better able to change the world with the movers and shakers in LA... have they found a house there yet?

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:12

Hahaha tiara. It just beggars belief. I read Dandy's speculation of the phases of their plan and thought surely not, but the signs are there that perhaps this was the plan all along and they thought they'd get away with it. It just makes M out to be more of a hustler than I thought and H more stupid than I thought and both more arrogant than I thought.

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:13

The thing about Harry is, his role as the sibling-to-the-future-king didn’t really have a defined path or precedent. Unlike Margaret or Andrew, he’s currently two generations away from the Monarch. In some ways that’s quite a distance. And a lot of his press attention is because he’s the son of someone famous who died in tragic circumstances leaving him motherless at a young age. Before that, he lived with a lot of press interest due to his parents’ relationship and split. He’s grown up in the media spotlight. I wouldn’t blame him if he both loathes and unconsciously craves it.

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:15

Perhaps the plan became more obvious to the RF and they pulled away emotionally from supporting them. I think H has been fed a line that you've never been happy; they [the press] killed your mom H!; look what they're doing to me and what they'll do to Archie, we have to get away; they've [your family H] done nothing to support us so sod them, we'll do it our way; we're as royal as they are, they don't have a monopoly on the world royal, especially not in the US!

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:16

Oh yes, both Dandy.

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:17

Ha just seen your post about the franchise Annie Grin. I almost put in my phased plan that they’d be representing the RF in the US (at first). I do think they probably saw it like that, and to a small extent they would have been right.

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:19

'word royal' not 'world royal'

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:22

Yes, that's why Canada, part of the commonwealth, was an obvious stepping stone Dandy.

I also think H is impetuous, wanted to shake up/modernise the RF and is used to being indulged so didn't see anything wrong with the plan, even if it was planted by M.

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:22

World Royal would be right too though Grin

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:22

Yes, it wasn't the worst slip-up Grin

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:24

Sometimes autocorrect is totally Freudian.

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:25

I also wonder/think that H&M might have been fobbed off a bit by the RF/queen. "Let's just see how things pan out for a couple of months H", in other words see if the public will swallow what they wanted to do. Even if that wasn't communicated I think the queen might have allowed them to make their deals this past month to test the water and see the public's reaction. There's no blueprint for this.

MissEliza · 19/02/2020 13:42

@annielouise I think you're right, they envisages a McRoyal Family set up.

Alsohuman · 19/02/2020 13:44

You’d think they’d learn from the lessons history could have taught them. They wouldn’t have had to do much research to discover the miserable and pointless existence the Duke of Windsor had post abdication - and the utter ruthlessness of the RF when it needs to batten down the hatches.

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:44

McRoyal Grin

They might be planning ahead for future children's names though - 'Princess Royal Elizabeth' and 'Prince Michael Jackson Harrison' or something. Princess and Prince being their first names that they can monetise how them how they like.

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:44

^ lighthearted before I get jumped on

annielouise · 19/02/2020 13:45

Alsohuman - I think you mean "batten down the haitches" not hatches

yolofish · 19/02/2020 13:49

I think you mean "batten down the haitches" not hatches Grin

Inspired annie!

yolofish · 19/02/2020 13:52

BTW Prince Andrew is 60 today. Local councils declined to ring bells, but they did at Westminster Abbey, being very strict followers of protocol. And also because the Abbey is a "Royal Peculiar".

I'll let you draw your own conclusions...

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:54

Royal Peculiar. Hmm.

Alsohuman · 19/02/2020 13:56

Royal Peculiar sounds like a brand of beer.

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:57

It so does.

DivinationDandy · 19/02/2020 13:58

Maybe the Royal Collection can brand and sell that, with all the profits going to an anti- human trafficking charity.

7Worfs · 19/02/2020 13:58

What about Sussex Royal Peculiar Grin

Needthechat333 · 19/02/2020 14:07

Couldn’t agree more annie and dandy. I’m also starting to think Harry isn’t necessarily a nice person - we’ve imputed a lot onto him given his mother. However when I saw the way he spoke to a reporter (can’t remember where - think it was the Africa trip). And it was so condescending.
