I go away for the weekend and thread 17 disappears Shock

March isn’t too far away now. Will we see their return for the commonwealth service?

Have they found a new home yet?

Will they make an appearance at Beatrice’s wedding?

They have brought this on themselves. Pitiful, really.

Rainbows8117 · 21/02/2020 22:58

I just can't get my head round why this is such a disaster!

*Someone will be saying, look this won't work because x y and z, we recommend you do a b and c instead.

The client (H&M) will be saying nah, fuck that we want to do j k l m n AND o right no*

How are H&M so oblivious to it all, why are they not learning?!?! They just keep digging and digging themselves in further.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 21/02/2020 23:04

I still think M will take a leaf out of Papa Markle’s playbook and go into hospital for an operation at the end of March. She really would have loved to attend but sickness prevented her.

Froq · 21/02/2020 23:05

Wow. Just wow.

So basically: Liz has no say on what we do over here, we can use “royal” if we want to but we don’t so you can stick it up your arse. We’re global superstars don’t you know.

And this bit is the worst:

It is agreed that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will continue to require effective security to protect them and their son. This is based on The Duke’s public profile by virtue of being born into The Royal Family, his military service, the Duchess’ own independent profile, and the shared threat and risk level documented specifically over the last few years. No further details can be shared as this is classified information for safety reasons

NOW GIVE US SOME MONEY PEASANTS COZ IM A PRINCE!

I hope someone has asked if she’s ok Sad

No more curtsying to Meghan ever again

FiveTwoFaster · 21/02/2020 23:06

SussexRoyal only following one Instagram account is also quite sour-grapes!

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:07

Rapidly losing any cachet they had.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:09

What was the point in mentioning he retains his position as sixth in line to the throne? Just why? To emphasise he's still royalty? That's pretty much all they have (he has).

I wonder if people/organisations will start distancing themselves. As soon as a few do perhaps more will.

Same with PA, wish a few more patronages would drop him like a hot piece of poo.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:10

FiveTwo - I think that's the same for Beyonce - far too important.

MissEliza · 21/02/2020 23:12

I love the quote from the DM that MM is 'done with the drama'. I have teenage dcs and I have learned that language normally comes from someone who thrives on it!

ThroughTheRoses · 21/02/2020 23:19

MissEliza I also laughed at the "done with the drama" quote - first heard that on that Real Housewives programme!

Rainbows8117 · 21/02/2020 23:19

I don't really see the point of reiterating he's still sixth in line to the throne, apart from to remind everyone how important he is.

Without thinking about the tragedy that would have to occur for this to happen, but can you imagine them living this 'private' life in North America and then returning here because he's now going to be King, despite not serving any Royal duties for however many years it had been.

SussexRoyalties · 21/02/2020 23:21

Has anyone else had this advert pop up on this page?

Thread 18?
annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:23

Exactly Rainbow. It's meaningless. As you say, regardless of the tragedy that would need to happen for H to take over the throne no one would accept him after all this. Pointless highlighting it apart from reminding any prospective US business associates that he's royalty.

SussexRoyalties · 21/02/2020 23:23

The Harkles are playing the Bitcoin market Grin

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:24

Haha, didn't see it as I've blocked ads somehow.

Froq · 21/02/2020 23:25

The preference of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex was to continue to represent and support Her Majesty The Queen

HOWEVER

... The Duke and Duchess of Sussex understand that they are required to step back from Royal duties

Why use such inflammatory language? This is his family after all.

I think they need to get rid of their PR people. They’re used to releasing aggressive ‘fuck you’ statements for celebrities whereas this obviously requires a totally different approach.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 21/02/2020 23:25

TBF, I thought the idea of only following one account was so they could highlight one cause a month. Don't the teenage followers get to vote for which charity they should follow?

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:27

Sounds like you're right Catherine. I didn't know that. I remember now seeing something about that.

ThroughTheRoses · 21/02/2020 23:28

Their preference was to have their cake and eat it too. They are required to pick one or the other.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 21/02/2020 23:28

I don't think they'd listen to any PR Froq

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:29

Maybe this is how they'll be effecting change as they mention, concentrating on one charity at a time, perhaps in more depth. Sounds fairly doable and lower overheads than a foundation.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:30

Also, less intensive than a foundation, giving more time to make money, which they really need to get on with.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 23:31

Hopefully charitable organisations they work with won't see their private money-making business as having a conflict of interest.
