I go away for the weekend and thread 17 disappears Shock

March isn’t too far away now. Will we see their return for the commonwealth service?

Have they found a new home yet?

Will they make an appearance at Beatrice’s wedding?

The effects on the mental health of being born into this situation is not good in my opinion. George, Charlotte and Louis boosted up, you're special, you're a prince or princess, finding the balance of that and the respect of the public, which they need as they are there by the grace of the public to a large extent (or at least their level of popularity is), the intrusion of the press if you're taken against.

What surprises me is how many of them have been bashed over the years yet they cling on to the position and the titles and the houses and the luxury, so maybe it's worth it for the gravy train.

yoikes · 21/02/2020 18:38

I think you're right.
Anne will crack on.
But I bet shes livid 😁

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 21/02/2020 18:38

Calling bullshit on that tattle life link.

DivinationDandy · 21/02/2020 18:41

I don’t read Tattle Life, I looked once and urs a cesspit, so I haven’t clicked on that link.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 18:45

I don't know if they're doing more work to present a united front or it's just being reported more. I used to see the odd thing although didn't pay that much attention but now they seem to be doing more and visits are being reported more. I hope it's just been a case that not everything has been reported in the past because if they are doing more visits/events now and have the time for that, why weren't they doing more work before?

I know they do about 200-300 events a year (at the most, W&K less in recent years) but they can do up to five in a day - cut a ribbon, cup of tea with X association, pull the curtain on a plaque, so it's all condensed and if added up won't fill three months of the year. They get a lot of time off. I think they're doing more and clearly it's for damage limitation.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 18:45

Obviously feeling worried.

rockingchaircandle · 21/02/2020 18:45

There were screenshots of the Tattle Life link, you don't have to click, (but I'm sure lots will).

Rather than calling bullshit/inviting debate, can't you just condemn the targeting of women of colour? And women in general really...

So far on this thread, not counting Meghan herself, Beyonce, Oprah and Doria have all come under fire.

But that's a coincidence- there's no spite, misogyny or racism, no Angry

yolofish · 21/02/2020 18:45

I've just lost about 40 minutes of my life in on Tattle Life. Seriously weird. I do tend to think that BG often get it right though.

Anne will indeed crack on, she's not lived 71 years of her life in the goldfish bowl to let it all go tits up when the spare to the heir has a hissy fit!

I keep coming back to: why on earth would they fuck up like this when they could have done it so much more easily? Tantrums, I suppose.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 18:49

March will be interesting in terms of which events they'll attend, all on the list, or none, or the odd one.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 21/02/2020 18:52

Actually, Anne is 69 - not 70 until August!!

yoikes · 21/02/2020 18:54

Arguably, the only people who have any idea what W and Hs life was/is like are their cousins.

And H has separated himself from all that support/understanding.

He seems like someone who needs routine and structure.

yoikes · 21/02/2020 18:55

Apologies to anne :)

Butterymuffin · 21/02/2020 18:56

Maybe they will test the water a bit at the March events and on the basis of that decide about attending Beatrice's wedding. I think that will prove very tricky still either way. After that, they'll have no reason to have to come back for quite a while, and will be able to throw themselves into their new independent lifestyle.

DivinationDandy · 21/02/2020 18:57

Who are you talking to rocking?
I have called out on here the other day when I thought a post was potentially racist.
I have not and will not look at the screenshots from Tattle, apart from anything they’re too small to read on my phone. I think there’s a photo of Doria in that so that must be what you mean regarding her.
If you mean the Oprah allegation then I’ve just seen it. Yeah too far, not on unless there’s evidence to back it up. I’ve reported.

yolofish · 21/02/2020 19:00

Oh yes, sorry Anne! agree about the only people understanding the way of life is the cousins yoikes - very hard to be apart from that. It's kind of like when your parents die, the only people who knew what that particular family life was like are your sibling(s). It's a big rift, whether you got on or not.

Oprah's business skills are outstanding.

I have to apologise for saying that Elvis Costello's dad was Declan MacManus, that was EC himself. I think his dad was called Roger?! Which brings me back to praise for Beyonce's Lemonade album.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 21/02/2020 19:02

rocking the thing is, on the last thread you criticised people for not reading links and calling them out. Now we do that still isn’t good enough for you. Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.

yoikes · 21/02/2020 19:04

I'm not clicking on tattle life links.

rockingchaircandle · 21/02/2020 19:04

Dandy, I'm talking to any posters speculating and gossiping here, based on spite, misogyny or racism.

So the vast majority of posters on these threads.

Great that you're reporting. It would be nice if more people could openly condemn. These threads are toxic and breed this.

Yolo, spending 40 mins on TL is hardly surprising, it appeals to the same people these threads appeal to!

Froq · 21/02/2020 19:04

I love the Crown.

I enjoy it too but reliable it aint :)

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 21/02/2020 19:05

I think they need to be very careful about whether or not to attend Beatrice's wedding. She was (quite rightly) slated for making such a show at Eugenie's about her pregnancy, and taking the limelight away from E. If she comes to Beatrice's wedding, won't the press concentrate on her rather than the bride? She really shouldn't do it.

yoikes · 21/02/2020 19:06

Do check out that charles documentary.

I was amazed they left that section with W on tbh. Cringeworthy.

annielouise · 21/02/2020 19:06

I haven't bothered with the tattle link stuff either. The only one making references to racism is rocking and it's clearly to stir things up and sabotage the thread.

CallmeAngelina · 21/02/2020 19:07

An awful lot of the thread has been critical of Harry.
But you don't have an issue with that, rocking? Or just Meghan, because she's a Woman of Colour?
