I go away for the weekend and thread 17 disappears Shock

March isn’t too far away now. Will we see their return for the commonwealth service?

Have they found a new home yet?

Will they make an appearance at Beatrice’s wedding?

If I did a job for 68 years, opening a case of papers on current affairs and god know what else to read, 364 days of the year, I would definitely make mistakes. I would throw the box out of the window well before my 80th and wish to be as the Queen Mum. Just not widowed. Swilling gin and dubonnet from dawn to dusk, having a lie in, going to Balmoral or the races whenever I liked, having raucous parties, buying loads of new clothes, running up a £7m overdraft and getting my crown out to play with it.

HMQ has had the worst deal of all her family. Dead father very young and no retirement while most of the rest of her family flounce about moaning. I wouldn’t be her for anything.

katiegoestoaldi · 21/02/2020 17:00

Sorry Sussex

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 21/02/2020 17:02

I know it is childish but I have followed Kensington Royal on Instagram as I want them to have more followers than the Sussex eejits. Can everyone do the same?

DivinationDandy · 21/02/2020 17:03

@FiveTwoFaster your post prompted me to google the Queen’s daily routine. I had no idea she spent that much time doing paperwork. Even though she obviously has a lot of help, she clearly has a strong work ethic. I have always heard that said, and respected her for it.

Her bad decisions imo mostly revolve around her family members. It might be that her hands were tied to a certain extent by their autonomy and the advice she was given. But I do think that Prince Andrew should have been contained better.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 21/02/2020 17:07

As my Dad always said, 'the person who doesn't make a mistake, is the person who does nothing

Borrowing.

Rainbows8117 · 21/02/2020 17:13

The DM article claims MM said there is 'nothing legally stopping her' from using the Sussex Royal name. Anyone have any idea if there are any legalities around this? Can't remember if it was discussed earlier on in the thread.

Given it's claimed she goes on to say they don't need the name as what they are planning is bigger than that, then not sure what she's bothered about.

Appreciate it's the DM and what's written should be taken with a pinch of salt.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 21/02/2020 17:14

Can everyone do the same?

Did that when I realised the Royalties were getting more 'followers' (although it seems half of those are just to be negative). I was already following Eugenie and Queen Rainia hmm I must find some other foreign royalty to follow!

FelicityFebruary · 21/02/2020 17:18

Rainbows I don't think they'd have trouble abroad.

Also even here you don't HAVE to have a registered trade mark. It just would be harder to take legal action to prevent other people imitating it, I think.

DivinationDandy · 21/02/2020 17:23

I think you have to get permission from the Queen to use certain ‘sensitive’ words like ‘royal’. I’m not entirely sure and from an academic viewpoint am interested to know.

StubbleTurnips · 21/02/2020 17:29

Not just the queen - but also the cabinet office secretary, one Mr Michael Gove.

I can’t imagine those rules exist abroad so MM May be correct in that she can still use it stateside.

Alsohuman · 21/02/2020 17:30

I have enormous sympathy for Queenie. Imagine being catapulted into one of the biggest jobs in the world when you’re 25 and having to do it until the day you die. Every move scrutinised and criticised, every relationship under the microscope. She’s steered the monarchy through some very choppy waters many times and it’s survived. She has my utmost respect. I dread the day she dies.

Just stumbled across these on Tattle Life

What a loser.

DivinationDandy · 21/02/2020 17:33

Who do you mean drina? Grin

yolofish · 21/02/2020 17:35

Blimey things have moved on!

I do feel sympathy for HMQ, she's old, her husband is dying, her grandson has effectively lit a firework and run away, and her son will probably soon be questioned by the FBI. I'd find that hard to cope with, without having to do all the paperwork and pomp and glory, as well as having weekly meetings with a dissolute immoral Prime Minister!

Off to check out DM and TattleLIfe - too small to read (am old) but looks rather shocking?

drina27 · 21/02/2020 17:37

Given the Queen’s decision and her directive, the prince’s wife will be tainted even more than she already is, if she uses certain words and terms to which she is not entitled.

Nothing in her behaviour surprises me, however; what does not surprise me is that she has turned out to be a huge disappointment. Harry’s name is being trashed alongside hers, the more this farce continues.

Alsohuman · 21/02/2020 17:40

The Tattie Life screen shots are too small for me too - any chance of a link?

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 21/02/2020 17:41

I too dread the day HM passes. She may not have always got it right but at least she gave it her best shot. H&M could & should have learnt some lessons from her.

yolofish · 21/02/2020 17:41

JBJ is also with Sunshine Sachs? Curiouser and curiouser...

7Worfs · 21/02/2020 17:44

That cannot be true Shock

Using Royal when you are stripped of rank and shunned from the RF is embarrassing and quite pathetic.
A-listers will be distancing themselves pretty quickly from that train wreck.

DivinationDandy · 21/02/2020 17:45

I’d never heard of Sunshine Sachs until earlier today. They also represent or used to represent Harvey Weinstein. Nice.

7Worfs · 21/02/2020 17:46

yolo nice find, we need a full list of their clients I think

You'd have to have really big balls and very deep pockets to consider taking on the RF and their shit hot lawyers.

M may have the balls, but I don't think their pockets are deep enough.

Maybe it's a double bluff somehow? I'm not quite sure how, but if they end up not using the word Royal perhaps they'll say it's what they always wanted all along.

What have they done to their family relationships though? W and H used to be so close, and H and K too, and the cousins were always close as well. If this was the family down the road people would be sad for them.
