Well here we are, another thread for those who wish to discuss. We are not nasty, but we do call account on what is going on, and and what taxpayers pay for.

You are truly wonderful CafetiereCoffee! Can't have too much good coffee around.

DulciUke · 06/02/2020 16:49

Sorry for the length, but this is the statement on the U.S. Dept. of State website re Archie's situation:

Birth Abroad to One Citizen and One Alien Parent in Wedlock
A child born abroad to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent acquires U.S. citizenship at birth under Section 301(g) of the INA provided the U.S. citizen parent was physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for the time period required by the law applicable at the time of the child's birth. (For birth on or after November 14, 1986, a period of five years physical presence, two after the age of fourteen, is required. For birth between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, a period of ten years, five after the age of fourteen, is required for physical presence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions to transmit U.S. citizenship to the child.) The U.S. citizen parent must be the genetic or the gestational parent and the legal parent of the child under local law at the time and place of the child’s birth to transmit U.S. citizenship.

Judging from this, he does have U.S. citizenship because his mother was resident in the U.S. for at least 5 years. Or not. I find the wording a little confusing.

yolofish · 06/02/2020 16:50

*@yolofish it's clearly a response to your own personal attack.

You are hypocritical because you advise others of doing stuff, like policing, personal attacks etc, that you clearly do yourself.

Then you get self righteous and claim your tired of it, but have to have the last word before demanding a 'return to the thread'! It's entirely in keeping with the overall tone of the threads.*

Just C&P in case you get deleted.

But anyway, I will no longer engage with you. That OK?

To the person that used the phrase Chip in. Thanks! I’m now craving chips and we only have them on a Friday night! With lashings of vinegar and tomato ketchup!

Butterymuffin · 06/02/2020 16:51

Why don't we return to the policy advocated by MN themselves that we scroll on by anything we don't wish to respond to. Then all the self-righteous posters can talk to one another only. Saves time. Don't anyone bother dissecting any of this post either as I won't bother responding.

The Stella M dress was stunning but would have looked very casual as a bridal gown. Great choice as the evening gown.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/02/2020 16:51

It must be very frustrating to have the chance to attend the Oscars because you married a Prince but not be able to because you married a Prince.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/02/2020 16:54

Well said, Buttery.

rockingchaircandle · 06/02/2020 17:01

@yolofish thank you for the record! You really will do anything but engage with disagreement won't you!? You've criticised me frequently in vague and very hypocritical ways as I've explained. Sorry you don't like it being pointed out. I know it's hard to argue against.

IsntCoffeeWonderful · 06/02/2020 17:06

Well said buttery

Fancy a muffin now... all buttery.
Or a chip butty!

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 06/02/2020 17:07

I haven’t had a chip butty in years! Think Fish & Chips will be Thursday night this week instead of Friday!

IsntCoffeeWonderful · 06/02/2020 17:07

Fleas it’s a wonder she didn’t stick to the knitting, and just go for a director this time.
she’s shot herself in the foot.. eyes wide shut.

IsntCoffeeWonderful · 06/02/2020 17:12

alliwant go for it!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/02/2020 17:14

The Queen has offered to host Bea's reception at Buckingham Palace, (no word yet on where the ceremony itself will take place). It seems to be in recognition of the greater role she will have going forward. It's an ill wind etc etc.

LaMarschallin · 06/02/2020 17:14

Mischief

It must be very frustrating to have the chance to attend the Oscars because you married a Prince but not be able to because you married a Prince.

My compliments; that made me smile.

Butterymuffin · 06/02/2020 17:16

So is that 29th May possible date confirmed now fleas?
Would love to see Beatrice in a Vivienne Westwood gown.

yolofish · 06/02/2020 17:23

fleas I think they havent confirmed the wedding venue? BP for reception, but due to PA 'ishoos' they cant get married in the Chapel Royal which they originally wanted. I'm sure there are ways round that one, given that it's called the Chapel Royal (clue in the name).

Eug looked lovely on her wedding day, I hope Bea manages to have a lovely day too. (Parents from hell, wonder what the PIL are like?)

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/02/2020 17:24

LaMars 😉

Not formally confirmed but the announcement is expected in days. Mind you that is the DM quoting the People so...

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 06/02/2020 17:28

I enjoy MN far more since learned to skim past posts by certain names who I find difficult. Do try it. I haven't read a single post by one or two regulars on this thread or the last couple of threads. It's great AND recommended by MN so can't go wrong really Smile

Butterymuffin · 06/02/2020 17:38

Just read that neither the BBC nor ITV are planning to show Bea's wedding. Shame as I would have watched. Though maybe she'd prefer it wasn't. She has copped for a lot thanks to her parents' spectacularly poor judgement.

rockingchaircandle · 06/02/2020 17:47

There is a lot of protesting too much from the thinner skinned posters!

It's a good idea to scroll on by. I responded when I was named, so obviously that's something you could avoid if you don't want a reply!

I don't have a problem with reading all posts myself, but then I don't try and demand the right to shout into an echo chamber all day, about a woman I've never met, but don't like for some reason I find hard to articulate.

Glad the personal stuff is over, I'll get back to disagreeing with opinions if needs be. As this is a public forum, I'd definitely scroll by if that's something you find challenging.

7Worfs · 06/02/2020 17:57

Same, Wendy Grin

I too now want fish and chips. The problem is I’m already defrosting enough meat for dinners until Sunday.

I wonder what Megs is cooking tonight 🤔

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 06/02/2020 17:59

The question regarding use of the Guards Chapel is Prince Andrew. Solution - the Queen is the Sovereign and she has more honourably titles than I have had Fish & Chips. Andrew can go in for heart surgery and Prince Charles can walk Beatrice down the aisle or she can walk herself. Sorted their wedding for them😀

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/02/2020 18:00

Just read that neither the BBC nor ITV are planning to show Bea's wedding.

We may not get the whole wedding but there will definitely be coverage of people arriving. Which tbh is probably the best bit.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 06/02/2020 18:04

Apologies for the food posts! I don’t like people sniping at each other and talking about food has always worked in the past!
