No harm in having it ready for the next event/announcement...

Is this what we’re talking about?
If so. It definitely is them as far as I can see.

annielouise · 30/01/2020 23:20

From what I remember of the article when it came out I think it was concluded it wasn't MM, even though it really looks like her from the back, and it was a vet or Dr that worked for some charity? I could be wrong. I remember the issue with the picture cropping. It's just been one thing in a line of things that have formed my opinion of them both.

DandyAndFine · 30/01/2020 23:21

Oh glad it got sorted and reinstated Sunset!

DandyAndFine · 30/01/2020 23:23

annielouise that’s what I remember too. There was never any dispute that it was Harry, but I think it was said that the woman was a staff member for the charity or nature reserve and not Meghan.

annielouise · 30/01/2020 23:27

I've had a look but it looks like it might have been MM after all. There's a typical MM arty shot of her carefully curated hand caressing an elephant trunk with a thumb ring and thin rings on the next three fingers, which I think is her style regarding jewellery.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/01/2020 23:29

I think you have a point, SunsetBoulevard3 about Meghan's influence. The trouble is, she comes from a world of invention and artifice, where it's expected that you will embellish your CV, where actors will claim to have skills they don't have to land a job. That would have been her professional normal.

It seems to me that Harry has got caught up with this to his detriment. Posting misleading photos in the hope of promoting a positive image of oneself might be fine for an aspiring actress but is very unwise for a member of the royal family when virtually everything is checkable now on the internet.

annielouise · 30/01/2020 23:29

Yes, Dandy, that's what I vaguely remember - that it definitely wasn't MM but I can't find anything on it now.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/01/2020 23:34

The close up hand shot may have been M, annielouise, but I think the other shot shows a conservation worker, as another poster has said.

annielouise · 30/01/2020 23:35

Yes, I think you're right.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 30/01/2020 23:40

myimaginarycat
Yes I agree with your post on response to mine

annielouise · 30/01/2020 23:41

There seems to be a lot of manipulative behaviour going on with their IG pictures at times. Not the full facts with the elephant shot, for example. Then all the artful shots of Archie, hiding his face, showing just his foot, all done to stir up interest. It's playing games, smoke and mirrors, holding out a carrot in front of people. It's deliberate to create a buzz around them. Very slick and manipulative when you think about it and to my mind not the behaviour you'd expect from the RF.

scaryteacher · 31/01/2020 00:04

The 'worker' is a vet: Dr Amanda Lee Salb, and it might not be Harry, but Dr Mike Chase. Have a google...

DandyAndFine · 31/01/2020 00:29

I’ve googled can only find references to that photo being of Harry ... and Meghan. It certainly looks like Harry, he appeared in other photos that appear to be taken the same day in the same clothes. Don’t know why if it wasn’t them they didn’t name the people in the photo Confused

caperberries · 31/01/2020 02:59

I agree that they use their Instagram for self-aggrandisement and the focus is usually on them and how charitable they are, rather than on the charities they are ostensibly supporting

Thanks for confirming, scaryteacher. That's what I remembered. Pretty sure it's not H either, although the resemblance is striking.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 31/01/2020 07:22

I was watching the itv programme on the royals last night & it said that William & Kate sued photographers for taking topless photos of Kate from one kilometre away. That’s a heck of a distance & wonder if similar was used when Meghan was walking the dogs.

Cuttingthegrass · 31/01/2020 07:41

And they’ve now been criticised by a Canadian lawyer for promoting telecom service available in prisons but which limits calls only to landlines and charges loads and was cited as contributory factor in 2017 death of a prisoner in crisis when he couldn’t reach his support services whilst in prison awaiting a MH bed.

Although K, W and H have all previously supported this company but I think that was before the complaints about the limitations and costs were published? Not sure.

But they do need to be diligent with their research and who they publicly support

KayakingOnDown · 31/01/2020 08:29

Yes, it's all about them. Why can't they post the photos of the doctors or zoologists and name them and honour them for the important work they do? Why no photos of just animals or wildlife?

Meghan is the focus of every single photo, because it's all about her.

LaMarschallin · 31/01/2020 08:36

Could be but, afaicr, the photos of Kate were nowhere near as good in quality than the ones of Meghan.
That could be to less powerful lenses or something, I suppose (don't know much about photography).
I certainly didn't see any of the Kate photos showing her looking and smiling in the direction of the cameras.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 31/01/2020 08:38

The problem is they have got themselves into a situation where literally everything they do will be wrong in some way. I don't know how they fix this, I really don't.

If they start trying to make their own money they will look greedy, if they don't they will look like freeloaders.

If they stay away people will say they are letting HMQ down.
If they come back people will say they have failed and are after a handout and an easy life.

All avoidable if they had worked with the Palace on a phased exit plan without all the tantrums and tears.

LaMarschallin · 31/01/2020 08:50

Totally agree with that, Mischief.

And, if things don't pan out as they planned, I think they'll feel the loss of face more than most.

peridito · 31/01/2020 09:11

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder /how you intepret stuff ,but I don't see the tantrums and tears imaginary .

There was the "thanks for asking" from Meghan ,but other than that I'm not sure . Maybe I've missed stuff .

Kate recently said ( visiting a children's centre )
“It was the first year and I’d just had George. William was still working with Search and Rescue and we came up here and I had a tiny, tiny baby in the middle of Anglesey.

“It was so isolated, so cut off,” Kate added. “I didn’t have any family around and he was doing night shifts. If only I had had a center like this.”

Thankfully this hasn't been spun ,but I can see how easily and with a certain mindset it could have been .

7Worfs · 31/01/2020 09:18

Mischief yep, great summary. They need to stay off SM for a good few months and do hands-on charity without spinning it all about them.

Triglesoffy · 31/01/2020 09:25

@peridito. But Kate didn’t moan about it at the time. That is the difference.

7Worfs · 31/01/2020 09:34

^
Kate was making the point that baby centres are incredibly important for babies and mothers, relating to her own experience as a new first time mother.
