Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

the sort of hounding and vitriol that killed Diana
What killed her was knocking around with a consort who couldn't have been deliberately chosen to be more of an embarrassment to the RF if she'd deliberately tried, relying on said individual's dodgy security goons, getting into a car with a drunk driver and not belting up.

theThreeofWeevils · 16/01/2020 18:58

Not that I'd necessarily blame her for wanting to embarrass the RF.

SingingLily · 16/01/2020 18:59

My hopes and best wishes to you as well, phpolly, as one catmum to another 💐

Cool0lady0 · 16/01/2020 18:59

To the people who’ve said “sIxTh iN LiNe wHo cArEs iF hE LeAvEs” you do realise George/Charlotte/Louis will not be working royals for another 15-20 years atleast? So they would’ve wanted to be a working royal for another huge chunk of time? Fair enough if he wants to quit but I don’t really think it is him that wants to leave.

phpolly · 16/01/2020 18:59

Froq that made me laugh out loud!
lilybetsy I agree completely about the ultimatum. Someone on this thread (Planeplane?) speculated that Meghan had lost patience and pushed the button on the whole thing on her own last Wednesday. That would perhaps explain why she wasn't wearing her rings in public the next day. I'm guessing they may have had a spectacular bust-up and she took off her rings, fled to Canada and the baby, and told Harry to follow the plan or else. ...

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 16/01/2020 19:01

He alluded to having felt like jacking in Royal Life at one point in the past.

That is not the same thing as saying he has no genuine interest in causes he supports.

I took it that he had a moment as he matured, where he questioned where his life should be - as would anyone in a similar situation, but decided he wanted to remain use his status to achieve good.

MrsBrentford · 16/01/2020 19:02

I don’t believe it’s the case here (I think she took them off to fly?).

But do people actually take their wedding rings off when they have a row? Grin

yolofish · 16/01/2020 19:04

phpolly I'm sorry, it's a horrible situation to be in with DCat.

Does anyone know what happened to the dog M left behind in Canada? I hope it was rehomed carefully and she is not demanding it back now to her temporary home and 2 other dogs.

phpolly · 16/01/2020 19:06

Thank you SingingLily. I'm so sorry about your cat. 20 years is a good long life - you must miss her very much.

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 19:06

Someone mentioned a video of toys being thrown out of a pram, where/what is it? I'm trying to catch up on several threads at once and have lost myself

Lunde · 16/01/2020 19:06

Ironic really that Fergie promised to "obey" - but I remember the pearl clutching when Diana didn't

phpolly · 16/01/2020 19:07

MrsBrentford as a symbolic gesture, when you know you are going to be photographed in public? I'm probably being unfair.

phpolly · 16/01/2020 19:08

Yolo thank you.
And
I often wonder how M could just leave one of her dogs behind.

yolofish · 16/01/2020 19:08

*'She also felt like she couldn't be the best mother to Archie if she wasn't being her true, authentic self. Something she felt she couldn't be in the royal family confines.’

'She said she didn't want Archie picking up on her stress and anxiety. She felt like it was a toxic environment for him because there was too much tension and pent-up frustrations.’*

yolofish · 16/01/2020 19:09

oops, sorry! re the above, I mean, FFS just get a fucking grip woman! What on earth does she think millions of women all over the world do? They/we just bloody get on with shit...

MrsBrentford · 16/01/2020 19:11

I often wonder how M could just leave one of her dogs behind

Maybe if she has another baby she’ll leave that one behind for Harry? Grin

Bluebellforest1 · 16/01/2020 19:11

MurrayTheMonk

Thank you, a crocheted nativity is on my “to do” list! Hopefully DoC will be contacting me soon to ask for lessons.....

Alsohuman · 16/01/2020 19:12

@Geoffreythecat, no link then?

DandyAndFine · 16/01/2020 19:14

@meinethegreen

I blame “him” rather than “her”. As you’ll see from my comments. Though I know it’s more fun to group us all together.

I hope this leads to the end of the Royal Family and that’s part of why I’m interested.

I’m very interested in the political and legal implications.

I haven’t been on all 6 threads, just 2.

I have flu so although I do have better things to do, I’m not able to them right now.

I certainly don’t worship Diana and never did.

Seatbelts save lives.

HTH

Only place I have seen it mentioned is here 😂😂

Jimjamjooney · 16/01/2020 19:15

I thought this was about sharing balanced points of view, not bitching about 'Megan changed her ring' (of course she's not going to say in their engagement interview that she wants to tweak it), or 'how can she leave one of her dogs behind' and all the other character assassinations?

Oldbutstillgotit · 16/01/2020 19:18

I thought her dogs had been moved to Canada ? Hope they are ok .

Froq · 16/01/2020 19:18

I thought this was about sharing balanced points of view

Yet here you are policing instead.

SerenDippitty · 16/01/2020 19:18

Seatbelts save lives.

Indeed. The one person in the car wearing a seatbelt was the one person who survived the crash. Claims that the media “hounded her to her death are ridiculous and hysterical.

Justmuddlingalong · 16/01/2020 19:19

Evening all. The thread police have arrived. 🚓
