To think this Is absolute nonsense? Surely the press would be on it ??

OP posts:
VenusTiger · 27/11/2019 02:25

@SpaghettiSharon and @Freddiefox it was @heath48 who said this not @managedmis - they forgot these ^^

sobeyondthehills · 27/11/2019 03:16

Been watching an amazing programme about the fact that once a wife was pregnant, she got confined and the king was then allowed to pleased himself.

Maybe we haven;t moved on as far as we thought

Nanamilly · 27/11/2019 03:43

@theop

Do duck off dear.

GlamGiraffe · 27/11/2019 03:51

It would make sense that it could well be true, some kind of of falling out between Kate and rose was talked about about the end of April I think'. That would have been while Kate was pregnant. She had quite possibly been stuck at home with her head perpetually down the loo throwing up, looking inhuman (as did i with HG) and having a slightly less sunnier demeanour than usual. William might have thought. Right I've had enough, done my bit and shes not even bearable, I'm off over the garden hedge to see rose for some consolation!
Then again it's hard to see why he would when hed know the pregnancy would be short, then again, it doesnt take men too long..
Overall they look like a content family, as adults you can cover things up, but as a family with children cracks show instantly.

In fairness with both prince Philip and Charles' extra marital affairs throughout williams life being in full view and those of the rest of the family seemingly going on in every corner, it really is a place where everyone is always at it, so it is almost to be expected.

Perhaps one of the things harry also doesn't like about the ways of the Windsor in general?

pallisers · 27/11/2019 05:01

Mistress? Seriously? Are we in a Mills and Boon novel?

if there is any truth to this it is just another instance of the british aristocracy having affairs with each other in the country house setting. nothing new to see.

Given there isn't a shred of evidence (and I am quite sure the Daily Mail and similar have tried their hardest) then why would you even repeat this.

Mjlp · 27/11/2019 05:14

It’s all over the news outside the UK.Massive, massive amount of threats and legal involvement in the UK to keep it out of the press here.

I heard it mentioned in the press here months ago. Nothing since though. So I thought it was just made up. However, if the above is true, I'd be more inclined to think it is true!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 27/11/2019 05:15

Convenient timing that this old chestnut has popped up.
Very old news.

Mlou32 · 27/11/2019 05:23

What a load of nonsense, the toxic British media love to stir the pot to sell stores and naive people who revel in gossip lap it up. Ridiculous.

Way way back when Harry was dating chelsy, wasn’t there that conversation where Kate advised her that putting up with cheating was just part of dating a royal? I believe the Rose Hanbury story, and it doesn’t surprise me at all. Cheating is what royals do, I don’t know why anyone would believe William is somehow different.

caperberries · 27/11/2019 06:02

Absolute lies. People are so gullible

AFairlyHardAvocado · 27/11/2019 06:14

It was amusing watching the DM run a story on Rose, an absolute none story about her seemly because they couldn't publish the real story.

Watched this with interest too, in the age of injunctions galore the press do like a petty revenge when meaty stories are being quashed!

I despair at the shit Meghan has been put through with tone of some of the coverage about her when the rest of the family is so much more protected.

Other than Prince Andrew at last - a lost cause is a lost cause and it sounds like they've realised he deserves to be deleted from the royal family quicker than a spoof review on Pizza Express Woking's TripAdvisor page.

RosiePosiePuddle · 27/11/2019 06:32

I reckon this is great. Like a Jilly cooper novel come to life.

Looobyloo · 27/11/2019 06:35

I do believe Kate could conceal her emotions 100%

Surely if it was true someone would just come and say it? And if Megan knows then one day she may just spill the beans on the whole royal family with a tell all book.

sonjadog · 27/11/2019 06:39

I would have thought it is very likely to be true. Look at the background he has, the role models he has had. Men in his family have had mistresses for centuries. Why should he be any different?

longwayoff · 27/11/2019 06:41

Man may or may not have had an affair with someone other than his wife! Really! I've never heard of that happening before, whatever next? Shocking. Anyway, must go, got curtains to twitch.

SunshineCake · 27/11/2019 07:00

FFS what is wrong with you? Shall I start posting about your partners liaisons ? See how you like it.

He either cheated or he didn't but it is no ones business but his and his wife's.

I doubt he'd be that stupid fwiw.

Genevieva · 27/11/2019 07:10

We know it is absolute nonsense because we know the information around the story. The reasoning given is that the girl in question (Rose) has married into a family with an estate in Norfolk and her husband has an inherited the role of Lord Great Chamberlain, so intercepts with the monarch occasionally. However, the only person with a history of philandering is Rose's husband himself. He was like this before he married and she presumably accepted that this wouldn't change. This has no bearing on William and Catherine. Both families have multiple homes and William and Catherine have an entourage of staff and appointments. Their lives probably overlap twice a year at formal functions. There is no evidence that they ever socialise with each other at home. Given the scrutiny they are under, we can be sure that someone would have snapped a photo of them heading to the same venue, but this piece of gossip does have a whip of smoke to suggest even a small fire.

Genevieva · 27/11/2019 07:11

interacts not intercepts. I do hate autocorrect. A red line indicating a spelling error would be much better.

Genevieva · 27/11/2019 07:12

and doesn't even have a whip of smoke. Urgh. Back to my day.

EntropyRising · 27/11/2019 07:21

I can't quite piece this together.

So this rumour was started on Twitter, and the originator has been served with a superinjunction or some such?

The Mistress in question is cute enough, but her husband is absolutely dashing.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 27/11/2019 07:22

I know someone very very much on the inside
(not a friend of theirs but working on the inside and in a position to know)

Says it is absolute rubbish-meant to be a destructive, divisive distraction from other issues how alliterative

theEnglishInPatient · 27/11/2019 07:40

Funny, i know someone very much from the inside too, and they say it's funny that none of it had come out any earlier. Nothing to do with Rose at the moment though

wasn’t there that conversation where Kate advised her that putting up with cheating was just part of dating a royal? I don't know about the conversation, but it's very well known, so many girls ran away because of it. Will had lovely girlfriends in the past, some absolutely suitable for the role, ever wondered why they never stayed for very long?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 27/11/2019 07:43

Why have you reported it managedmis?

I think the rumours are probably true - for the very cynical reason that I think an awful lot of men would behave like this if they thought they could get away with it. Money and power and status give a bloke a lot of leeway, women will throw themselves at him, and I think that he has the sense of entitlement that goes with privilege.

I just hope that if it is true, he doesn't publicly humiliate his wife, and behaves with discretion. Being in the public eye while having your nose rubbed in your husband's dalliances would be terrible.

MissMarpletheMurderer · 27/11/2019 07:53

It is news worth, and worthy of a thread as we the UK tax payer contribute to the running of the royals, around 49 MILLION pounds a year, that's a lot of nurses /police etc.
