"Ooh twinges....could this be it?"

I wish. Think I must be a closet royalist as I am rathrr excited about this impending birth. Anyone want to keep watch with me?

Sleep well Mortified.

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 19/07/2013 21:44

Congratulations Mortified! Good timing, you can see what Kate and Zara pick name wise and either avoid or emulate depending on your preferences Grin

Just about to search on Twitter. #obsessed

Prediction time: I think she will go into the Lindo very late tonight/early hours of the morning, to try and avoid maximum pap coverage, and be induced tomorrow. I have a Feeling that she's now overdue enough for that.

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 19/07/2013 21:49

I was also amused that one of the papers (the Fail I think?) were advertising their Royal Baby magazine supplement the other day. Have they gone ahead with it even though baby is not here yet?

muppetthecow · 19/07/2013 22:13

That's it, I've lurked long enough Wink Has anybody seen the latest Radio Times cover? There's a big baby in a crown on the front Grin

I'm really hoping Kate hurries up - if one more person looks at my bump and says "Ooh, how wonderful if you have your baby on the same day as the royal one" I may actually scream as I bash them in the head with my crutches

WhispersOfWickedness · 19/07/2013 22:22

How long have you got, muppet?

My mum was pregnant with me when William was born and got really fed up with the 'ooo, Di beat you to it!' comments!

Zyngaling · 19/07/2013 22:27

I remember when William was born ! Shock

I was only a child though.

waikikamookau · 20/07/2013 09:42

my dh went to buckhouse when William was born, Grin what a royalist, but I was 17 and couldn't care less.

Ponders · 20/07/2013 11:16

I was (just) pregnant with DD1 when Chuck & Di got married. She's 2 months older than William. If only she'd gone to St Andrews...

Hulababy · 20/07/2013 11:58

My sister was born a week after William. Her middle name is Dinah after my great grandma. In hospital the nurses and doctors all assumed it was supposed to be Diana because of William's birth.

I'm hoping the royal baby is a girl because
(A) my sister is having a boy so no links with name, etc
(B) for the new law re monarchs

muppetthecow · 20/07/2013 14:48

Whispers I've got three weeks until due date, but I'm not holding out any hopes of a timely arrival as DS was 15 days late.

Hula I'm also hoping she has a girl for the same reason! It's another reason to hope it comes first Wink

MissMarplesBloomers · 20/07/2013 15:57

APPARENTLY ...... folds arms to rest bosoom on ala Les Dawson if you have a child born on the same day as Mr/Ms Wales/Cambridge you will be given a commemorative coin.

Grin
Zyngaling · 20/07/2013 17:01

I hope girl too! She's about five days late now, maybe even 7 if the date of 13th July was correct. I think it was. She said 'mid july'. Even if it's 15/7 she's 5 days overdue. What is the average number of days people go over?

marriedinwhiteagain · 20/07/2013 17:09

Doesn't mid july stretch from about the 10th to the 20th? Although if I'd been due on the 20th - I'd have said late July. In fact I was due on 20th Jan and told everyone I was due early Feb because me and DH were both wo weeks late. The little so and so arrived on 25th December and all the parents went hysterical and I had to get over myself and admit to the porkie Blush.

Poor Katie; once a waity Katie, always a waitie Katie :(. I'm really glad he's got a lovely mum though - that's what Diana didn't have.

marriedinwhiteagain · 20/07/2013 17:10

Actually Diana might have had a lovely mum - she just didn't have a functional family unit but Kate has.

Zyngaling · 20/07/2013 17:22

Yeh, Diana's mother had no choice but to leave her children when she divorced, because he was an Earl, and the children's titles and the estate all wrapped up with him. Must have been a really tough thing for her to do.

KittenofDoom · 20/07/2013 20:04

The date has never been disclosed. Any "due dates" published are just tabloid speculation.

MortifiedAdams · 20/07/2013 20:05

Even the reporters are struggling to come up.with stuff now!

They should do some peices on Wills and Kate as babies, and possibly more - Diana, Charles, Harry.

Would make for interesting reading and fill some column inches.

waikikamookau · 20/07/2013 20:09

thebaby will come when it wants

unless the obstetricians force the issue, with a C section and/or induction,>

they must be terrified about a safe birth with the third in line to the throne involved

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 20/07/2013 21:38

I saw someone out and about with their Daily Mail 'Royal baby' magazine today, which seems to have done just that and features photos of William, Harry, Zara etc. I guess actually it's probably not a terrible thing since now they can do another one next week month Grin

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 20/07/2013 21:41

Anyone know how many Royal caesareans there have been? Did the Queen have one with one of hers and they performed it at the Palace, IIRC?

MissMarplesBloomers · 20/07/2013 21:41

I agree Waikika

I think this article has some good points!]]

Chubfuddler · 20/07/2013 21:46

God I am starting to feel sorry for her. There have been enough threads on MN with pregnant posters moaning about their MIL wanting to know when they are in labour. Thre are souvenir magazines and the baby hasn't even been born yet.

I just hope everything turns out all right.

MissMarplesBloomers · 20/07/2013 21:53

Me too Chub awful enough when things go wrong for the average Mr & Mrs Wales/Cambridge but to have every minute detail rehashed & examined if the worst happened would be so dreadful.

What the fark is their married name anyway he always has Wales on his flying suit & is known as William Wales for work?

I know her TITLE is Duchess of Cambs but as a totally trivial aside while we're chewing our nails.....trivia experts??

lurcherlover · 20/07/2013 21:55

Snazzy I read (in a history book about the Royals so hopefully an accurate source) that the Queen had a forceps delivery with Charles - don't know about any of her other labours. I imagine they were also quite twitchy about that birth, with it being the likely heir to the throne (not definite though as if he'd been a girl they would have known that any younger brothers would have taken over - heir apparent rather than heir absolute and all that).

lurcherlover · 20/07/2013 21:57

MissMarples technically none of the Royals have surnames, but they adopt names by convention and can more or less choose what they like. Windsor was chosen as it was thought Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was too Germanic. William and Harry though both use Wales as their Dad is Prince of Wales.

This baby will be known as Prince or Princess X of Cambridge.
