There's a terrible storm going on here.
Linney was deeply unimpressed when he looked out of the window in the sitting room.

He was equally unimpressed when he discovered that there was a storm raging outside the bedroom window, too.
🤣

And some idiots say black cats aren’t photogenic.

Breadcat24 · 25/10/2026 10:49

I have just bought the zero mouse 2 add on for microchip cat flaps after 2 birds in 2 days (cat is in disgrace)
To be fair it is very windy here so they might have blown into the window.
Credit to husband for catching a sparrow at 1 am ( it was flying around the living room but crashed into a wall and fortunately fell in the waste paper basket)
I will report on the zero mouse 2- currently on offer but still £179

Lex met Boudi tonight and she was fascinated! Wherever he walked on my bed, she'd follow on the floor, then when he left my room she trotted after him. Although then she got a bit scared and ran back.

Aw! Well done, Boudi.

And well done Lex too!

Kirova · 26/10/2026 05:32

And well done @RumNotRun! Boudi already looks so much more relaxed and curious.

RumNotRun · 26/10/2026 08:11

It was so cute. She did start to do a tiny hiss but then decided he wasn't scary. She looked much more kitten like then she has before, and she's been playing with toys this weekend. I think that's a sign she's relaxing, she still mainly hides from me unless I'm in bed (or her big brother is around apparently!)

CatsonPollock · 26/10/2026 08:34

Brilliant progress @RumNotRun
What did Lex think of Boudi?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 26/10/2026 08:39

That all looks very encouraging @RumNotRun 😻

He was ok with her, gave her a sniff, but wasn't really bothered. He's quite a chilled cat. I was very proud of him.

Breadcat24 · 26/10/2026 11:19

@RumNotRun Lex is an excellent welcoming cat

EmpressaurusKitty · 26/10/2026 21:36

I was walking along the hall in the dark just now & didn’t realise until I put the bedroom light on that Kitty had pooed on the floor & I’d stepped on it.

Slippers binned, floor covered in Simple Solution, all cleaned up now but I hope she’s ok. I’ve had to leave her on her own for a couple of weekends recently & been a bit worried about family stuff so I don’t know if it’s linked to that. She’s been eating, drinking & playing normally.

Pudmyboy · 26/10/2026 22:06

Sorry to hear that Empressaurus , pardon me for checking, was it formed or loose? As in, could Kitty have been caught short, or is it possibly due to picking up on your stress, or a dirty protest at being left? Or her litter tray not being immaculate enough for her?
Whatever the reason, I really hope it was a one-off, and I guess you do too. 💐

Thanks @Pudmyboy. It seemed firm.

Either the stress, which will hopefully be over soon, or I changed her litter before going to work this morning so maybe the fresh litter wasn’t thick enough. If she does it again I’ll take her for a check-up.

Kirova · 26/10/2026 23:52

Aww, sorry to hear @EmpressaurusKitty. I hope it was just a lapse. Edith was very temperamental with regard to toileting when she first came. She has a bad experience at her first foster with the litter tray, which flipped over on her while she was using it. She got an extra large and sturdy litter tray when she came here, but she would still keep her front paws out while she used it and would run away as though it was liable to come after her as soon as she'd finished.

Then she went through a period of pooing behind the sofa, which I am still convinced was her testing me to see if I'd get angry or not!

Hopefully Kitty is just a bit mad at you for leaving her at the weekends and is staging a dirty protest to communicate her displeasure. Er, behaviour is communication, I guess. But fingers crossed it was a one off.

I am still trying to find a good home for little tabby. Her sister (behind) went off to her forever home today. She's truly the sweetest little thing: when you sit down, she climbs onto you purring, snuggles on your chest and gives your face rubs and kisses. It might be a bit much for some people 😂

Thanks @Kirova. She seems normal apart from that & used her tray this morning so hopefully we’re ok.

Good luck with the little tabby!

Oh gosh, she looks so sweet! I'm very surprised they weren't adopted together.

Happy Black Cat day to all the beautiful dark ones ❤

RumNotRun · 28/10/2026 06:38

How's Kitty @EmpressaurusKitty? I hope she's feeling better and not leaving you any more presents.

I set up the new pet cam yesterday. For £17 it's fantastic, I can even talk to the cats though it. I watched Fred and Boudi meet, lots of looking at each other but neither was particularly interested. However when Lex came into my room last night, Boudi ran over to see him!

She slept on my bed during the day, for a long 2 hour nap, and then when I went to bed she lay down on my jumper and even let me stroke her. Well, until Lex popped in for some food.
