I've just been kitten visiting again...

@Kirova just gorgeous

RumNotRun · 28/09/2026 15:32

I have photos! Apparently she's very friendly but a bit nervous and exhausted after looking after 6 babies. Not sure of a name yet, I want something strong, maybe Boudicca or Lilith.

They're going to call me next week after her spay and make arrangements for her to be given to me.

Gorgeous girl @RumNotRun! Bit of ginger there so maybe Boudicca? I am sure you will fix on a name once you meet. Congratulations! And thank you for taking her 😻😻😻

Breadcat24 · 28/09/2026 15:57

@RumNotRun great news - what about Elvira?

KeziaOAP · 28/09/2026 16:09

@RumNotRun she's lovely.. How about Athena.

Kirova · 28/09/2026 17:41

What about Andraste? The ancient British goddess of victory (to whom Boudicca made sacrifices before her battles)?

I am against Elvira because I know a cat called Elvira and she is emotionally disturbed 😂

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 28/09/2026 18:08

Ooh what a lovely cat @RumNotRun

Callista?
Iris?

Some great suggestions, thank you. I agree though I have to meet her first. Apparently she has been moved away from the kittens as they kept trying to feed from her despite getting enough solids and she wasn't getting enough to eat. They think she'll be ready for her new home by a week Friday.

Allergictoironing · 28/09/2026 18:23

Kittens look almost as big as her! She does look very adorable, in a "get me away from these monsters kittens" kind of way.

CatsonPollock · 28/09/2026 18:34

Oh wonderful news! @RumNotRun

A new excellent member to the excellent cat clowder 😻 and we will all be able to worship her from afar 😹

EmpressaurusKitty · 28/09/2026 18:49

That look reminds me of the first photo I had of Kitty, when she still had her kittens.

She’s so much happier 2 years later & I bet Rum’s new cat will be too.

RumNotRun · 28/09/2026 22:12

I hope she will be happy here. I think I'll have her in my bedroom until she feels comfortable and confident ready to meet the tribe. Raven will probably be full of hissing but Toad is usually the first one to greet newbies and insist on making friends. It's payday tomorrow so I'm thinking of getting her some Molly's Mice to welcome her.

Kitty does look a bit put-upon there. But she's such a beautiful cat. Such intelligent eyes!

I'm getting worried about kitten #4. All my attempts have been fruitless - there are just too many kittens about! I really want to find her a nice home, she's such a great little kitten and has been my favourite of the four since the start!

(Below being hugged?? strangled?? by her biggest and cheekiest brother.)

Congratulations @RumNotRun - I like Boudicca but some other great suggestions
Hoping she slots into your life as quickly as our little Fergus

And that in a couple of years’ time she’s so confident & settled that she’s running laps of her home at midnight with you & your bed as part of the course, like my elegant little sophisticat was doing last night.

She knows she gets a treat after our evening play session, when she’s leaping & running after her wand toy. I think she wanted to see if getting some exercise on her own account & kindly inviting me to join in would get her a treat too.

No.

Allergictoironing · 29/09/2026 07:00

Girlcat has changed her late evening habits the last couple of weeks. There's been at least one litter of fox cubs born locally, maybe two, this year and they are at that teenage stage of squabbling over territory, scraps, anything extremely vocally at night time, usually between 9pm and midnight off & on.

This seems to be taking place in the road and gardens outside my front, so Girlcat has taken to sitting behind the curtains in the living room to be entertained and feel superior. Last night got a bit of a shock as she'd obviously decided the view was better from my bedroom, so just as I was falling asleep she came flying down from between the curtains via a single bounce on my bed. I thought she was tucked up in their bedroom!

MiniPantherOwner · 29/09/2026 08:13

How exciting @RumNotRun What a lovely cat!

Breadcat24 · 29/09/2026 08:56

@Kirova sorry that little darling has not got a home yet. Also sorry for once that I am in Yorkshire. Then you read the thread about people struggling to rescue cats!

stormsandsunshine · 29/09/2026 10:33

Ah, I wish I could take on kitten #4, @Kirova . She is adorable. She reminds me of Stripey when we first got her - she was the smallest of the litter

I was fostering her & her final kitten, @OccasionalHope - she was SO much happier once he’d left!

EmpressaurusKitty · 29/09/2026 12:44

Someone on another thread has suggested Empressaurus for @RumNotRun’s new cat.

I think it’s an excellent name but Raven might take it as a challenge.
