Ok, I have a ghost cat. I just heard a cat come down the stairs so was calling Raven as toad is on a box in front of me, Fred is next to me, and Lex is on his window bed. I kept calling Raven but she didn't come in. About 5 minutes later, she emerged out of the box Road is lying on. So who came down the stairs!!!

You named her yourself - she's just checking up on you to make sure you are OK and are going to fill the tripod shaped hole in the house!

I bought the cats a new bed. I really wanted the coffin one but it was a bit soon. Lex approves though and Raven and Toad are fans of the box it came in.

Tobias 6 weekly steroid jab and weigh in this morning. Woke up to go to the loo about 1:15 this morning & could see him in their bedroom, so sneaked over & shut the door so he can't escape being caught & crated when Annie gets here.

Gratuitous pic of said cat yesterday evening showing just how relaxed he is these days. Shortly after this pic he was happily letting me stroke him without him moving at all ❤

I think part of the reason he was looking so contented is that is Girlcat's favorite perch. She was sitting on the floor looking daggers at him, even more so when I stroked him there as that's our best cuddle & strokes place.

Tobias was a very good boy about being crated, and the vet visit was very encouraging.

He has maintained his weight over the last 6 weeks! Vet has said steroid injections every 6 weeks (which the nurses can do) and Fortiflora in his food going forwards.

Yes having permanent steroids is likely to shorten his life by a few years compared to a healthy cat, but untreated IBD as bad as his would shorten it by a lot more!

@Allergictoironing well done Tobias. Do you give him hypoallergenic food? Wedgwood was diagnosed with IBD but his underlying health is good for a 14 year old, vet advised hypoallergenic dry food plus chicken/turkey which he'll only eat raw, still sick occasionally.

Well done Tobias! Lex keeps judging me today. I have no idea why but clearly I have done something wrong.

He won't touch hypoallergenic food. Unfortunately Tobias has FIV so no raw permitted.

He doesn't tend to be sick, but had liquid poo. It seemed to be a little thicker for 4-5 weeks after his first steroid jab so we are continuing with those, but steroids are contraindicated for FIV. It's trying to get the balance between his 2 conditions for the longest good quality life, but I do realise he could be gone within a few months or it could be years. Poor boy is only 6-7, but he had a very bad life before the recue trapped him.

He is very fluffy at the moment and loving being soup in his cauldron.

My friend picked Ghostie up today and we buried her in the garden. He unwrapped her so that he could say goodbye, she just looked like she was asleep. Weirdly her scar looked really visible and red. I haven't noticed it before so not sure if she'd been shaved there for some reason, not that it matters. At least she's home now where she belongs.
