......... and try to break into the film industry.

It'll be an unlikely success as they'll have to stay awake for long periods while filming goes on.

Well. Unless they decide to make Carry On Sleeping.

@learieonthewildmoor
Everyone on this thread has excellent cats - but that won't stop me calling out how absolutely splendid yours are. 😻

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 26/03/2026 13:15

While on the subject of Lenny the scruff...
Sitting in the sun today really emphasises how random his whiskers are 🤣

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Lenny the scruff is lovely

learieonthewildmoor · 27/03/2026 19:25

Lenny is scruffier than Cat Four when you take whiskers into account. Cat Four’s facial colouring gives her the benefit of looking like her make up is always done and that’s really an unfair advantage.
I have a concern about Cat One: I put clothes on the bed and he didn’t sleep on them. Have I posted the photo of him curled up on the toiletry bag? He moves immediately to sleep on anything placed on the bed. Maybe the two piles confused him.

Kitty doesn’t sleep on clothes on the bed either. I don’t think she approves.

She certainly doesn’t in that photo, Empress. 😂 You lost a star from your chart that day.

RumNotRun · 27/03/2026 22:56

Toad is purring whilst ignoring me telling him to get down. I'm so glad my cats listen to me 🙄

Cat One and Two used to listen to me but they wore me down. Every now and then they do what they’re told and we are all surprised.
The things I don’t want Cat Three to do involve jumping which he is terrible at: so whenever he’s where he’s not supposed to be I am either too surprised or proud of him to tell him off.
Cat Four ignores me: she knows sh’s too pretty to be told off.

I picked up a paper bag meant for playing with on the floor and put it on the couch while Rosemary The Robot Vacuum Cleaner ran and they like it more than the cushions from the cat tree.

It’s Kitty’s 7th birthday today & she’s out enjoying the sun. She had chicken soup for breakfast & she’s got catnip seeds for us to plant & a stinky catnip banana.

Kitty says thank you everyone. She’s gone for her afternoon nap.

Wilson has recently become a flat cat after we've moved, and he wasn't impressed. This morning, I finally managed to persuade him to go into the litter tray with the lid on, as he was too chicken before, but would shred the liner and drag it round. He would shout at me until I fixed it.

He's now settling nicely, completely ignoring the huge cat tree I bought for him. Here he is watching cat TV, and when he decided he'd start to be his old ridiculous self again.

He would absolutely win the longest cat category. He's not fully stretched in that photo

This is Kitty’s entry but we don’t think she’ll win.

Well done Wilson for using the litter tray! @Ahsheeit, https://www.flatcats.co.uk/ are brilliant for window screens if that’s helpful.

Happy Birthday Kitty! 🎂

Boris is a very long cat too. I just need him to stretch out so I can get a photo. Matilda would like to know if there is going to be a competition for the stubbiest legged cat or least clearance between belly fluff and floor, because she thinks she might stand a good chance of winning.

Breadcat24 · 28/03/2026 18:02

@EmpressaurusKitty Happy birthday to Kitty- she loves her toys doesn't she

Tell Matilda I have just created this category, but she's up against Gizmo.

Gizmo has also decided that we need a Cat Who Sheds Most Fur category, and he is hereby challenging all excellent tabby cats to enter.

Although he says he'll easily win.

Linney has just wandered in and suggested a Cat Who Is Always Stealing His Companion's Food section, and he glared meaningfully at Gizmo when he said it.

Happy birthday Kitty! 🎈🎁

The Stray doesn't really shed any fur although every now and then we will discover a clump of fur on the floor but that's it. I'm still surprised (but very grateful) by it every day.

EmpressaurusKitty · 28/03/2026 18:46

Kitty says thank you, and she thinks there should be a section for the Cat with the Pinkest Toes. Or one for gardening cats.

Tobias said he takes on Gismo's challenge. He can turn the upstairs hallway carpet from beige to patchy Tobias coloured in 2 days. Plus of course all the fur that's making it's way down the stairs at the same time gathering in the corners and causing drifts at the bottom.

Girlcat is also a phenomenal shedder, and despite looking completely black is actually a charcoal tabby so feels she should qualify in this category. She has short, very sleek hair but I can fill half the bin if I brush her for the first time in a week. She's currently going through the traditional spring shed, and I'm constantly sneezing in the home due to hairs up my nose. I can carry food from the kitchen to the living room & it'll be garnished with black hairs with a white root by the time I sit down. I gave her a 5 minute chin scritch this morning and was surrounded by clouds of fluff!
