What a worrying time you've had @coastergirl, poor Benny hoping for better news today.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts. Benny wouldn't eat again this morning. He's at the vets for the day again, on fluids, antibiotics etc. Definitely has a chest infection, poor boy. His temperature was normal this morning, which is great. They are a bit worried about something neurological going on near his back end as they feel his anal tone isn't as good as it was a few days ago. I'm picking him up at 6, and have asked if he can come home with meds to avoid him going back in tomorrow. It would have to be a different branch further away and I don't want to stress him any further. I've bought some salmon and various other bits to tempt him with.

@coastergirl Poor Benny. You are doing your best and trying to give lots of liquid based stuff which seems very sensible. I had days when Breadcat was sick where I was just shovelling Lick-e-Lix down her for a tiny bit of nutrition and fluids

@coastergirl when my darling girl was so ill she couldn't eat I cooked some white fish and hand fed her a flake at a time whilst it was still warm (and therefore smelly). A flake was just the right sized mouthful and was soft enough. I'm just thinking it might be easier than the salmon if you choose to hand feed.

I think we are getting an increase in confidence from Micia this has manifested in 2 ways

1. She has groomed all the matts out of her fur - saving us the vets bill for the expected visit on Monday😀
2. We went out last night and have noticed that while we were out she has scratched seven shades of hell out of one of our leather sofas ( the one positioned next to the cat tree with the scratching post! 😕

Come on Benny! We're all rooting for you - or purring - purring is better and healing too!
@coastergirl I do hope he has turned a corner now the temperature is down. And I do hope the neurological thing is ok.

@Breadcat24 - ah yes - the scratching of the item next to the scratcher. Boone used to love doing that too!!

Speaking of him, Boone had his monthly needles today and is already happier. I'm so glad the weather is getting better now and he can go outside a bit more and sit in the sun. You all will understand this, we redid our garden specifically so he could enjoy it. DH and I say this to each other whenever spring starts, how happy we are we did it for him in time. 😁
