Cat has decided to sleep on my bed - READ OP'S UPDATE BEFORE RESPONDING *Edited by MNHQ*

I have an eleven year old female, who has never really been particularly friendly, and has never, ever slept on my bed….or even jumped on the bed wanting attention or when I’m offering dreamies. Never..in eleven years…until the day before yesterday.

She spent the day on my bed. I even took photos to send to my family it was so unusual. Evening on the couch as normal. Then the night, back on my bed.

Yesterday, same again. This morning she woke DH up at 5:30 by sleeping on his chest! Right now she’s cuddled close to me in the bed.

She doesn’t seem unwell. It’s just so bizarre I don’t quite know what to make of it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Oh gosh so sorry OP. Cats do behave strangely when they know the end is coming. I knew mine was on his way when he took himself off to hide under my bed or lie on my DD's floor alone - normally a very sociable boy. Try and take comfort in the fact that it was very fast and sounds like they didn't suffer, and had a happy, love filled life with you x

How lovely that she had a happy life right up until the end where she was loved so much. Hope you are ok OP.

She sounds like a characterful moggy- but I’m not convinced that a few out of the normal days over a month ago are linked to her sudden death now tbh. Sounds like she will be missed and I hope your dd took the news as well as can be expected.

Here she is. Monday night I was out until quite late. She met me in the hall with a disapproving stare as I took my boots off.

She was very beautiful and I'm so sorry to read that she has died @mumsandaunties
