......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

Welcome to you and your cats @Fluffycat2906 and welcome to your new additions @OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon

Toad is asleep on the arm of the sofa next to me, looking a bit creepy with part of his eye showing.

Welcome all the new excellent cats! Agatha is outside, shouting at the sky, rather than me, for once. We've got a large storm rumbling around. She's not really bothered by thunder, but is probably a bit confused as there's no rain.

stormsandsunshine · 12/05/2025 16:06

@OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon what gorgeous new kittens!

Fluffycat2906 · 12/05/2025 23:28

So apparently 11pm is my new bed time, if i don’t arrive in bed at this time snowby comes and sings me the song of his people. Who am I to disagree!
tonight I also have Anakin at the foot of the bed this is a bit of a breakthrough, snowby only joined us officially last October after moving into the greenhouse over the summer then turning up with an abscess that needed treating one day in October and after a vet trip, some local advertising and microchip check ( there wasn’t one) and a £100 vet bill he joined the gang. Anakin is generally tolerant of him, Padame is more volatile but tonight she is leaving him to rest on my lap so all is calm.
thank you for the warm welcome, love to all the excellent kittys and their owners

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 12/05/2025 23:41

Timmy has settled in very well, it was a week ago today he came home.
since last night he has been happily in the living room with us, and all 4 of the dogs and the dogs have been so good !
Up til then the dogs were on leads wrapped around my ankle so they couldn't get near Timmy.

I was hoping to add a video of Timmy playing in/on the new cat tree thingy ( collected for free on Marketplace ) but it appears i can't add a video.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

ah...well - practice makes perfect :)

actually I can't take pictures as my new mobile phone is not a lovely smart phone, but dd has a lovely new phone and she takes the photos and sends them to me by email or on Facebook and I have now found I can download photos from Facebook :)

dd takes lots of photos !

Allergictoironing · 13/05/2025 05:59

So apparently 11pm is my new bed time,

I get told in no uncertain terms that bed time is 10pm. Girlcat is a very quiet cat, but she makes her presence felt in other ways - the scratching at the mesh back of the computer chair if I'm on the PC can be very effective!

We usually end up compromising at about 10:30.

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/05/2025 06:08

Kitty doesn’t seem bothered about bed time but she tries to be helpful about getting up.
She knows that on gym mornings I get up at 5, so when I sleep past that she worries that I might have slept in & wakes me.

Esgaroth · 13/05/2025 15:15

Welcome to all the new cats!

Kettle is waiting at the top of the stairs to see if he can trip someone up.

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/05/2025 15:49

Is he good at it?

Esgaroth · 13/05/2025 16:00

No, he's bright orange.

stormsandsunshine · 13/05/2025 16:41

Lovely to see the new cats.

Snowcat took a break from being on bath supervision duty to supervise a fly in the bathroom last night. If it was Stripey she’d have launched herself in the air and got it.

She is now so obsessed with her bath duty that she comes running as soon as she hears the bath being run. When I left the bath running to go and put my clothes away she was quite concerned that I might have forgotten about bathtime with her, and miaowed constantly at me till I got back to the bathroom.

Esgaroth · 13/05/2025 16:00

No, he's bright orange.

True. Good thing it hasn’t occurred to him to try lying on a step instead of at the top.

Esgaroth · 13/05/2025 19:09

But look at him lying on the new carpet which he hasn't though of scratching! What a good boy!

I've just mowed the lawn for the first time this year, sitting on the deck in short sleeves with a beer in brilliant sunshine watching DD jumping on the trampoline with a happy cat under my chair. And it's finally over 10°! Heaven. Photo slightly ruined by phone shadow but he still looks cute.

Just to confirm - I can see all of Kettle's glorious ears. 😹

Allergictoironing · 13/05/2025 21:23

Long, pointy ears too 😁. With tiny little tufts on the ends - I do love a tufty ended ear!

RumNotRun · 13/05/2025 21:43

Poor Lexter has been very sick today. He's not usually a sick cat (unlike Toad who likes to performance vomit if he feels he isn't getting what he wants). He's been down for all his meals, and at other times to try to get extra, and is his usual shouty self, so I think he's ok but the poor thing was very unhappy this morning when he was first ill. He's just cross now as he has only had four meals and a Lick-e-lix today.

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/05/2025 05:59

How’s Lexter today, @RumNotRun?

RumNotRun · 14/05/2025 08:49

He seems to be ok this morning. He's had breakfast and then shouted for more, despite there still being food left on their plates,so I think he's back to his usual demanding little self 😁

EmpressaurusKitty · 14/05/2025 10:05

WIBU to complain that the toddler running a stick along the railings on the opposite balcony keeps interrupting my cat in her important task of napping in the sun?

KeziaOAP · 14/05/2025 10:09

Two cats enjoying the sun, Wedgwood washing is toes.
Welcome to all the new cats 🐱

The child’s disappeared now & from my desk I can see Kitty enjoying her nap.

Jealous.
