Well, the boys among them are making plans.

The lady cats are having a spa fortnight in Italy.

Bills for flights, accommodation, food, booze, medical insurance and legal fees (not to mention a fund for bribing officials at Ljubljana Prison) are allegedly being sent to an unmonitored email address.

I appear to have failed Girlcat in some way. If she's after something she comes over to me, stands up on her back legs and rests her front paws on my leg, which she did a little while ago. Automatic response from me is to check the food bowls, plenty of dry left plus a bit of breakfast remaining. Water is topped up. Litter tray is clean. Doesn't want to be picked up. Doesn't want to lie next to me for fusses, or even go on the back of the sofa for fusses (her favorite).

Can't for the life of me work out what she's after!

Maybe she's been inspired by all the dancing cats on this thread to give it a try and hasn't quite got the hang of it yet.

That sounds possible. Try kneeling & taking her paws, Allergic.

Allergictoironing · 15/02/2025 19:59

a) Kneeling may be possible, but getting back up again isn't, and b) dancing would be well beneath Girlcat's dignity!

As for the toy suggestion, playing is a rare thing with her (unless she's tormenting Tobias). Again, Goddesses who are also Empresses have to be dignified at all times.

It’s very mysterious then. Maybe she wants you to worship her.

I don't think Benny fits the profile of oranges being thugs. Had to include a photo of Walter asleep with his paws crossed ❤️

That goes without saying, of COURSE I worship her. It's why I was put on this earth I thought?

True…

Esgaroth · 16/02/2025 11:46

Our neighbour cat isn't a thug I don't think. Kettle just doesn't like him going in our garden (when he notices which is rarely because he only puts in short shifts on guard duty).

Though he has been persuaded (by children) to take a nap with another ginger cat. Or rather, they posed him and he couldn't be bothered to wake up and object. Apologies for immodest position.

He's practising after seeing all the pictures of Gizmo being immodest.

@Esgaroth Kettle is such a cuddly cat

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/02/2025 14:26

Here's an unusual picture of Gizmo, guarding his water bowl.

It's unusual because he isn't displaying his perineum.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne is he getting a bit podgier?
I cannot talk as breadcat is a barrel

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 16/02/2025 14:28

Linney, proving yet again that you can't keep cats off work surfaces or dining tables, despite some random person on another thread telling me that I should have trained him better.

Aye, that'll be right.

He is not yet as large as Emerald, who got to 6.5kg at one point.
But he's quite a big chap.

I didn't like to say, but I was thinking the same. NDN had to reduce his food intake at times because he did have a tendency to portliness.

Poor Gizmo , all this fat shaming going on!
Herbie is definitely bigger than when we got him-he is big boned! He is so lazy. Today he has slept most of the day apart from a little bit of windowsill sitting.

I'm going to take Gizmo to be weighed, when Linney has his next appointment.

I'd like to know how much he's gained. He really has a very healthy appetite.
🤣

Mr Tuxedo is back!

He came the other day but the cats weren’t around. Tonight he came and miaowed for them and pawed at the glass. Snowcat is pretty indifferent but Stripey intrigued.

HumanToCatBeasties · 16/02/2025 18:41

As a fellow rotund cat Matilda sends her sympathies to Gizmo about all the fat shaming. In her case it's a bit of a mystery, as Boris is the one always pestering me for food, yet he stays a very slim cat. The vets always seem surprised that they're brother and sister.

She joins Gizmo and Kettle with the immodest posing.

We have good news on Tobias's scan the other day. We don't have the biopsy results yet, but the scan report saying most things look completely normal.

There IS some thickening of the walls of his lower intestine, and a number of the lymph nodes are enlarged. We won't be able to tell what has actually caused these, or if the are related, until we get the biopsy results next week. But at least we know all the usual suspects (kidneys' liver, pancreas etc) look OK.

Also got some cheering news on my own health on Friday as well. Report from Kings has finally come through (took them 3 months to write it up & send it out!) on my back, and they have decided it probably ISN'T Cauda Equina - "just" a completely misplaced vertebra and spinal canal stenosis (narrowing of the canal) especially either side of the troublesome vertebra. They still want to see me with the possibility of spinal surgery to help this, but as the recent MRI showed no change from the previous one there's no urgency so I have an appointment - for December this year.

Naturally no advice or anything for me came with this, but I did manage to speak to a specialist from the local NHS team that referred me and got some from him. The good news is I can do a bit more than when we thought it was CE as I shouldn't be risking paralysis if I overdo things a bit, though still strongly advised that though discomfort is OK if I do anything that actually hurts then stop. He's also referred me to the pain clinic.

EmpressaurusKitty · 16/02/2025 18:52

That’s all sounding really hopeful, Allergic.

HumanToCatBeasties · 16/02/2025 18:55

Very please that you and Tobias have got some positive health news @Allergictoironing Worrying about paralysis if you overdo things must have been awful to have to live with. Sorry you have to wait until December for your appointment though. Fingers crossed they move it forward for you and that Tobias's biopsy results don't show anything to worry about.

Herbie was caught in the act of stealing salmon skin off the side just now.
He growled at me when I went near him as he scoffed it so I had to let him get on with it! He is determined to increase his weight it seems.
Yesterday he was left all day as we had to go somewhere
and he had his Catmate for company (automatic food dispenser) and because we are not quite sure which compartment will open, we put food in several sections (it is quite an old fashioned one donated by BIL).
When we got back, 2 compartments had opened. So he had a bonus portion, and yet still looked for more food when we got back!

Maybe he has figured it out better than we have!
