She was handed in to Cats' Protection when she was 7 months old and pregnant.
She had her kittens in a Cats Protection foster home, then once she had been spayed and her kittens rehomed, we adopted her.
She likes a quiet life.

The ginger boy is Biscuit. He's eight and a half, and came from a local animal shelter. He'd been found at a few weeks old living behind the big wheelie bins in a supermarket carpark.

The black and white one is Riker, who is 5. He's a ragdoll cross, born when a local wanker breeder accidentally let a random tom get to his breeding queen. He decided that the resultant kittens were worthless and chucked them off a bridge over a major A road. Luckily, someone saw him do it and managed to rescue the kittens (and get the malicious bastard reported). His back legs are a bit wonky because his hips were injured, but he's the most good-natured cat we've ever had!

This was our lovely girl Rosie.
Rescued in 2017, we had her for 8 years and she was much loved.

Had to have her PTS a couple of weeks ago as she had a mass in her stomach and liver failure.😞

RIP beautiful girl 🌹🌹🌹

Here is one of my darling boy cat. All of mine are rescues (the dogs too). My wee boy here is just the sweetest little cat in the world - he loves his mum and always sneaks into bed with me (boyfriend wasn’t delighted when we first got together, but he got used to it, lol).

i have the girl version! This is Bonnie who I rescued 16 months ago along with her sister Betsy(black fluff ball) and then Bella (tortie) who came along a year ago❤️

Totally outing (hence the name change) but this is our rescue Maine Coon. She was subject to a prosecution of her previous owner by the RSPCA. She is 5 and although a very small MC she's quite big! Has some very strange habits but is lovely.

I chose 2 rescues on Saturday and am just waiting for my home checks to be done and I can pick them up at the end of the month. All I know is that they were strays, both with FIV. I'm so excited for them to live with me but also really nervous in case they don't like their new home.

@robinsnest1967

Did you get your lovely cats ?

Our cats love their home but they pretend only to stay as it prevents us getting other cats who might be too delicate to put up with us .

"Look at it as a service to other rescue cats" they say, "we're ex garden cats so we know we can put up with this . Any other cats , ...well . Now are you cooking that chicken or what"?
The "Forever Home" is their "Well this'll do for now" Wink

I woke up at 3am with the FemaleCat on my chest , I had a WTF moment can't breathe , heavy crushing weight ........oh , it's purring .

This is Kloppy (I'm an LFC fan). He was a street/church kitty in a little village in Cyprus, we met and I fell in love with him (just before the pandemic). Five years later and he's the angel of my heart, little bugger but love him so much 😻

I'm a red too. What a lovely boy ❤️

Lupeyy · 21/02/2025 23:07

Sadly no cats here yet! I am loving all your photos and stories though. I am still applying with my local rescues so hopefully will update soon when I have given one a new home 😻

Isis tabby and Eve black. Isis is 15 and Eve is 3. They enjoy 3am zoomies snd putting mice in my bed. Isis is not technically a rescue, I adopted her from a friend where she didn't get on with the other cats, Eve was a rescue kitten. They really love each other.
They are numbers 9 and 10 of a long line of rescue cats I've had over the years.

@Lupeyy her name is Princess Molly 🫶..Molly for short! 😁

Mumsgirls · 23/02/2025 20:31

what makes me laugh is how quickly the needy rescue cat turns into royalty , once they get there paws under the table.
At first Ernie would eat anything put before him, within a week he was turning his nose up at the pate types and only eating the jelly or gravy ones. The other supplies found their way to his old allotment pals. He soon trained me up to his requirements.
The only thing that I fail on is not letting him out after dark. As he is nearly all black I worry about cars or him fighting. He soon lets me know when it’s breakfast time and for his morning tour of his area.
One thing that surprised me was that he had done such a good job of grooming though being homeless for a couple of years. He is a gorgeous long hair, but had not a single Matt. Within a month his coat was gleaming and the vet says he is a strong and healthy boy. To see him now you would think he had always lived the high life.
The slight risk I took in homing him has been well worthwhile and I would advise anyone able to rescue. He has only brought in two creatures in a year. So all in all he has made the perfect puss. Just pushed my iPad away to sit on my knee!

Shannith · 23/02/2025 20:42

Disco biscuit

Got her when she was 5 months. Abandoned kittens - she was clearly the runt as she's not growth much.

Likes to toast herself

This is my guy who was left behind when his people moved house. He survived one summer living outside before being trapped and rescued. He was dirty and injured when he was found, but came out of his shell very quickly when we got him home. We had a bit of bother with the injury but he's all better now.

He's probably 4 or 5 and he's been with us since September.

He's a lucky boy.

caringcarer · 23/02/2025 22:45

I've loved seeing your rescue kitties and reading their stories. I've got 2 cats but not rescues. I got them as kittens, a siblings pair. My adult DS took on a rescue Bengal who belonged to a colleague of his who got divorced and the house was sold and both went into rented accommodation where they couldn't keep the cat, so my DS took him. He now lives like a lord. He eats fresh cooked chicken or fish as he turns his nose up at cat food. He will eat his fish mashed up with boiled carrots and a few petit pois. He's got a bit of arthritis in his back legs so can't jump up as high now but has meds my DS sprinkles on his food hence having his fish mashed up.

Mumsgirls · 23/02/2025 22:52

Ah Esgaroth lovely story. I wonder if My Ernie had been left behind when someone moved? Such a shitty thing to do to a trusting animal. His allotment was in a poor part of town and evidently a hotspot for the rescues for abandoned cats. Fluffy / Ernie had been caught / castrated / returned by a rescue. The week before I got him, he had been attacked and had a head wound, a rescue had took him for vet treatment, then returned him. Will never know why they did not re- home him , as he was obviously not ferral . Perhaps they had too many strays. Thank goodness the allotment folk were good enough to feed him. Evidentially he was quite lonely in the winter, as people spent much less time on the allotments. He came home with me a couple of days before Xmas and loved his turkey dinner. He went from a greenhouse to sofas, beds and a heat pad. It makes me sad to think of how he was treated, but he should have many more years of comfortable life and big belly rubs!

EmpressaurusKitty · 24/02/2025 04:48

That's very possible. The rescue I volunteer for is bursting at the seams & has rescued perhaps 20 abandoned kittens in the past month, mainly because of all the irresponsible twats who can’t be bothered to spay / neuter their cats & then decide to dump the females when they get pregnant.

This is Sharon. We adopted her almost 10 years ago now, after her original owner passed away when she was about six months old. She's wonderful.

I’m so pleased to finally meet a cat called Sharon.
