This is mine a ragdoll cross from the RSPCA. I don’t know his story but he was 14 weeks when I got him and I was told he had a heart murmur which turned out not to be the case. He is 11 now and very friendly and playful

So many lovely stories and loving the photos. They’ve all definitely landed on their paws.

loving the description from poster earlier who said something along the lines of their cat didn’t get the cat memo. I had one like that, he was rubbish at “catting”, but was the most loving bugger ever.

I haven’t rescued in the traditional sense, but I took in my mum’s cat after she died last year. I promised mum that her cat would have a home with me until her time comes. She’s 15, but she doesn’t act it. Very much a fan of zoomies, not a huge fan of being picked up, definitely a fan of poking you to remind you she’s there. And, when she wants to, she can be very snuggly and close to you.

@Lupeyy @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats we think they are brothers and about 10-12 weeks old.
DD nearly passed out with excitement when both of them curled up and slept on her lap!

Aww gorgeous mini panthers, are they siblings? How old?

How did the viewing at the weekend go, @Lupeyy?

Delighted to hear it. They are both very handsome well tailored kittens. 😻

we rescued these two beauties in September, Io is the one eyed blind cat, who was surrendered to the rescue charity a few days old covered in fleas and had an infection which melted her eye which she had to have removed at four weeks old and the other eye is badly scarred, she was hand reared and so snuggly! Freydis the other cat was plonked in my husbands arms when we went to collect IO and we weren’t told anything about her other than she didn’t have a mum and was only 8weekd old. The rescue had so many cat’s needing homes and she kept them all in her house, I couldn’t bear the think of an 8 week old all on her own in a cage so we took her too!

Ours are two black cats , brother/sister . They've ruled us now since 2019
They were part of a garden rescue , two mums and their babies . They were fed by someone who then contacted CPL to capture them.

They like to have the Best of Both Worlds .
Feral enough to want the garden at their disposal and their freedom. Have no truck with this cuddling lark , unless my DH is WFH in a Teams Meeting and FemaleCat decides to photobomb and demand attention. Sits looking pointedly at him then the paw comes out . Then the paw'n'claws till he gets the message .
But domesticated enough to expect two meals a day ( on the dot) and Dreamies at lunch time .
No door should be closed to them and they have the choice of do we sleep on their chair , their bed , their sofa , my DS workbag ?

They wreck carpets and furniture . Bring mice into the house and dump live worms or vommed up grass on the carpet .
Good job we love the little toerags Grin
Though I have to admit , they both hate me .

This is Gracie, she’s 7 and we’ve had her just over a week. I love her so much already. She’s the sweetest girl, purring a lot, loves to be stroked.

I’ve never had a cat before but my daughter (14) really wanted one so finally gave in and I’m in love 🐈‍⬛🖤

This is shade we rescued him in 2018. I’m still not sure he’s overly keen on us but he does have moments where he’s friendly

Talking of grey tabbies - this was a previous cat of ours - not really a rescue, a farm cat (who also came with two siblings) from the parent of a work colleague.

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Awww lovely cat

Lovelycupofcoffee · 13/02/2025 05:48

@stormsandsunshine I will admit I do love the moody little cat to bits and can’t imagine not having him now. Well apart from when he drinks the milk out of my cereal bowl 😂😂😂

PickledOnionOverdose · 18/02/2025 22:50

This is Sophie. She was found on a dump and taken to the local Cats Protection. They scanned her and found she was pregnant. They aborted the babies and she was installed at one of their Foster's houses until we saw her online and went to visit her.

My big boy Ernie was about five when I got him Xmas 24, I had lost my old boy three weeks before. Ernie had been abandoned and was living on allotments, sleeping in a greenhouse. The allotment folk fed him and a few other cats, the others were feral but Ernie, then known as fluffy, was a cuddle monster and had obviously had a previous home. One allotment owner, a friend of mine, had been trying to find him a home. He had been trapped neutered and returned by a rescue. He had been a stray for more than two years.I agreed to meet him and he jumped up on me knee for a cuddle, I took him to the vet, to check for a chip and for his jab. With no chip I took him home.
He hid for a day, then made himself at home. He is a lovely large boy, silent and a total cuddle monster. He will use the flap, but only if I am out. He is a total lap cat and demands belly rubs, he lifts my hand with two paws when he wants a stroke. He can hear the dreamy tubs from a great distance. The allotment folk miss him, but are delighted that he got a loving home and we send occasional photos of his new life. We needed each other and are very happy together. He sleeps on sofas, on my bed and on his heated . Loves a sunny window cill

My much loved Lily!
She was living indoors and her owner was having to work away from home so she was very lonely.
She is always glued to me.

Yes, she is peach and silver! My wee precious. ❤️😻

I would also value some feedback: opinions if possible. I work all day so was thinking of getting my cat a little friend but would that be really tough to do ? as he’s been the only cat in the house for years I’m not sure how he will react to a friend 🧐

Mia184 · 19/02/2025 13:17

This is Micky. She spent 4.5 years in her first home where she was repeatedly physically abused by the owner‘s son. She then gave Micky to her other son and his girlfriend who lived with 2 other cats and a Labrador dog in a tiny flat. Micky and the male cat were unneutered so obviously Micky became pregnant. Being seriously underweight (2. kg when I got her), she lost both kittens after birth.

Micky started to overgroom herself so her then-owners wanted to get rid of her. When I went to pick her up and opened the basket, she climbed in and didn‘t get out even though I stayed there for another 30 minutes and left the basket open until I was about to leave.

When we got home, Micky - the cat that had never been interested in toys - immediately started to play with her new toys. She had always been an indoors cat and greatly enjoys the rooftop terrace I have. When she had a normal weight and was fit enough for surgery, she got neutered.

One thing she did not like was when I got another cat I saw at a farm and adopted because of the cat‘s sad story. The other cat - Bonnie - was already 15 years old lived for another 10 months. I had to keep both cats separate at all times but both cats handled it well though Micky prefers to be an only cat again.

Edited to write that the second picture shows Micky moments she arrived home.

This is June. She’s cross-eyed, screams at the top of her lungs as she makes her way around the house, sits on the shoulder of anyone using the toilet and eats plastic and soap whenever she gets the chance. She is also an excellent dispatcher of spiders.

She was supposed to be a foster. DP and I were absolutely not having any more permanent cats, no way. He came home from work the day she arrived and was on the floor doing baby talk within seconds, so now we have three cats. 🤪
