I’ve just spent 30 minutes searching my entire house for one of my cats, even looking in the bedrooms that have doors closed and couldn’t find him anywhere.

And then I found him here, in the little house on the cat tree 🤦🏼‍♀️

Black cat curled up on a black rug. I found it by kicking it 😬

Black cats are the best at hiding in plain sight!

Not all today, but under the chair when the heated floor is on, in my ottoman bed and in my knicker drawer/box. Thanks dcat

That is funny and hilarious!😻

I spent ages looking for my 6 month old kitten once, calling outside as I was worried about her. Found her curled up on the towels in the airing cupboard 😍

Under his special blanket

I love this thread! Every single cat here is adorable and hilarious. My cat is too lazy to hide and is found sprawling in the middle of the heated floor.

One is a bag whilst we were putting up the Christmas tree, the other just thought ‘sod it, I’m sleeping IN the Christmas tree’

My daughter's black cat hid in the coat rack beside my son in law and daughters black coats. I was frantic as I was looking after them (she has 2 more not black that I had found) husband managed to catch the 2 green eyes peering out!

Refusing to let us do the Christmas jigsaw

Completely trapped in the sleeve of DS's hoodie, unable to move forwards or back. 😆 Luckily I was in to rescue her.

Meanwhile her sister likes to burrow into the heart of the spare duvet underneath the bed, where she can't be seen.

On my work chair.
I probably should have got a grown up chair to sit on instead of giving myself neck ache crouched in the toddler chair.

Dogs aren't usually quite as good at this game but my dachshund was a contender, readily turning into a wrinkle under a duvet (if he hadn't fashioned it into a cocoon). His best one was when he burrowed into a bed made up with sheets and blankets, and rolled off the bottom end becoming trapped in a sort of hammock. I've no idea how he was able to breathe until after ransacking the house I eventually noticed the slight bulge and liberated him.

I've just remembered a cat I had that used to climb on the tyre of my dad's car when the engine was still warm.

When he took the car for a service there was white hair all over the engine.

Sandwichgen · 13/12/2024 10:34

Curled up in bed beside my grown-up first-born. They were both under the duvet, but each had their own pillow for their head.

We don't have a cat.

My black cat was missing for hours.

Mine loves to sit in a defrosting freezer being hit by the drips of water.

ChandlersMum · 13/12/2024 12:34

In the tree, of course.

Usually I can find one or both of them on the top bunk - but I still forget to check there.

My cat's not the brightest, and regularly gets lost inside the duvet cover. I hear muffled shouting and have to go and tip him out.

Sadly no photos. But all three of my cats love to open my wardrobe door and go and sleep in there. I really don't understand it! It is a hard surface for a start!

My black does the same, its a hell of a job to find her because she doesn't make a sound when you call her.

Just hangin out on the window ledge doing a bit of tail swishing

Ahh now that’s the CDS (Cat Distribution System) at work.
