After barely sleeping on Sunday night I woke up Monday with a stinking cold. Today I don’t feel up to leaving my flat, let alone going away for 3 days, so it’s just me & Kitty for Christmas. Good thing she’s such good company.

I don’t have much appetite but I did an emergency Deliveroo order this morning, so I’m ok for soup, yogurt, ice cream & bananas which is all I really want!

Plenty of Kitty’s food too. She’s compromising by staying in the bedroom with me but not getting too close.

Kitty’s main present is a wall-mounted cat tree but I don’t think that’s going to arrive before Christmas. She’s getting a new wand toy tomorrow though, & she’s got something to unwrap from her cousin Pickle (yes, pets exchange presents in our family 😸).

Other presents will have to wait until I see family, but it won’t hurt her to spread them out.

I have got a few more catnip toys for Herbie, but knowing him, he'll no doubt look at me as if to say 'did you keep the receipt?'.

The best catnip toy I ever found was one which you put catnip inside (it comes with a tube of catnip) and velcro it together. It was from a shop in Glastonbury, and I keep meaning to get another.

I'm a bit better today @EmpressaurusKitty thanks. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll at least feel well enough to cook the turkey, if nothing else. I don't think I'd be forgiven if they didn't get their turkey 😁

Apologies - obviously the chance of getting cats to treat anyone like a goddess is zero.

I'd settle for none of them throwing up and no scrapping for the day as I agree that the goddess thing is incredibly unlikely!

Hope everyone who is under the weather is feeling a bit better by tomorrow. I'm struggling to find my festive spirit this year. The house is in a complete mess after some building work I've had finished recently and my love of present wrapping seems to have evaporated over the years. I've been trying to train the cats to use new microchip cat feeders because Boris is meant to be on renal food and it disagrees with Matilda. Thought I had it sorted yesterday with Boris happily eating dreamies out of his. I put their wet food in today and they both acted like it had vanished the minute the lid closed.

The delivery man brought Kitty an early Christmas present.
