As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

@YesItsMeIDontCare and @Allergictoironing you can get insurance through Many Pets for FIV cats - it's saved us an absolute fortune with Elton

Linney having some dry food, where Gizmo cannot reach it.

We have to hide the dry food in a cupboard because it upsets The Broon One's tummy.

Ah I love Leroy.

It's absolutely wild here in Southport. I'm on the sofa with Walter and a blanket, watching planes on TV, struggling to land in the wind. It fascinates me.

It's wild here, too.
West Coast of Scotland.

Our ceiling is dripping a small volume of water on to the sideboard.

It's not too bad. I've let the Housing Association know, and they'll come and look at it on Monday.

How's Mr.Yes now?

Mr Yes is doing absolutely super, thank you for asking Shell 🥰

99.9% certain he's clear, all recent scans clear 😁

I think Frankie has melted. I rearranged the sofa blankets earlier to make sure that the heated blanket covered his side of the sofa. It is currently turned on high.

Today we were planning to be out at his normal dinner time, so I gave him his biscuits early and his wet food late in an attempt to compensate.

He is outraged. "Why were you so late with my meat and I believe you're forgetting my biscuits?"

He's definitely giving you a look. Brace yourself for potential revenge. Could be a fur ball, could be a mouse in your slipper, who knows?

coastergirl · 07/12/2024 21:23

Poor Kettle.

HumanToCatBeasties · 07/12/2024 21:24

Frankie looks so contented. You seem to have created a house full blankets and contented cats. I definitely need to buy mine some heated blankets.

RumNotRun · 07/12/2024 21:26

I reckon it'll be being woken up at stupid o'clock by vomiting noises, you're half asleep so think "I'll deal with that in the morning" then you either forget or can't find the physical evidence until you put your bare foot in it.

Not that that has ever happened in this house. 🤔

Frank is still a melted pile of happiness. I can even stroke his little feet which is never usually allowed. He's such a funny little thing.

TheShellBeach · 07/12/2024 21:37

Kettle looks like he's plotting something against you @Esgaroth

I've now got 3 sherpa blankets, one on my bed, one on the sofa, and one to swap when one of the others needs a wash, plus a heated blanket on my bed and one on the sofa. However I live in a Victorian terrace which is semi renovated so there are draughts! I'm also a bit poor so don't like to have the heating on so the multiple blankets help to keep us all cosy. Saying that, Vixen is still sleeping on a cardboard box in the draughty hallway!

JaceLancs · 07/12/2024 23:13

@coastergirl and @TheShellBeach wild here too on the North west coast - someone died nearby when a tree fell on their van on the A59 DD rang me in a panic as my DP is around there at similar time - hearts go out to their family

JaceLancs · 07/12/2024 23:15

Finlay hasn’t been out much today - we’ve been Lego building with his help tonight

I've just thought we haven't heard from SuperSimkin in a long time. I can't tag her cause I'm on the app but thought maybe one of you knew how her and the cats are doing?

Sparkles29 · 08/12/2024 09:22

@TheShellBeach Hi, yes he does look similar, his name is Humphrey, he's 17 in April & he's owned us for nearly 4 years, apparently he's had an interesting life including living feral for 2 years on a farm somewhere before Wood Green let us have him to spend his retirement with our family-he is extremely spoilt and loved and laps up the attention. This is him last night wearing his Christmas bow tie for 5 mins, unimpressed & you can't even see it for the fluff so it's gone back into his toy box Xmas Blush

Mrs G has just reminded me that one of our previous cats in the late 1990s had FIV. We only discovered this very late in his life when he had a blood test to check his kidney function. He continued to go outside - don't think we were aware of the issues then - but after he died aged about 16 (kidney failure - not HIV related) we had our other cats tested and none were FIV. Didn't seem to have any impact on him at all.
Picture enclosed (he's the black fatty 🤣)

And Mr SB says he's seen bloodhounds with that disapproving expression.

Who is the origami cat?

Origami cat 🤣.
After my black boy's brother died we were down to one cat for a little while. We then got three farm kittens from a work colleague's mum. Origami cat (solid grey girl) a boy grey tabby and a boy pale ginger (Monty).

OC lived to be about 14 after which we got Basil and Sybil to top up numbers back to four.
