I spent ages last night trying to think of this thread title.

🤣🤣🤣

Oh Finlay! Really hope he gets better soon!
His tail reminds me of a doll I had in the '60s, called Tressy, with the tagline 'her- hair- grows!'*
She had a ponytail of hair emerging out of the top of her head and of you turned a key in her back, it could be unwound to make it longer and wound back to make it shorter.
Finlay is Tressy 'growing' her hair!
(*I took this literally as a child, I was very trusting, so I cut it: it didn't grow back....)

I had a Tressy!

When I unwrapped her on Christmas Day 1964 there were six tiny hairpins included.

I lost them immediately, and was still madly searching for them, turning the house upside down, until New Year 1965.

I had to concede that they'd been thrown away.

Maybe my younger sister did it. I'm still NC with her to this day.

The Broon One was out in the snow and came to the door looking very put out.

You know. Like I'd made it snow on him.

You monster. Give him the number for the RSPCA.

JaceLancs · 20/11/2024 21:37

I always wanted a Tressy!
@Esgaroth that made me smile and reminded me of Farbsy on Instagram when he does his customer service calls from cats, the dog ones are quite funny too!

Wouldn't that be the SSPCA. The RSPCA are probably still celebrating that they'll never need to have anything to do with him. 🤣

Sorry, didn't realise there was a different charity in Scotland.

The important thing is that cats who get snowed on due to spiteful owners providing the wrong weather get the help they need.

JaceLancs · 20/11/2024 23:13

Ava is gorgeous
My DD has Presley who is looking very cute tonight in full black and white cat mode

JaceLancs · 20/11/2024 23:16

No idea why pics not loading tonight

Very clever of them to blend into their surroundings like that.

Esgaroth · 21/11/2024 11:17

Kettle has been out adventuring again this morning. Just for half an hour, but it's lovely to see him growing in confidence and finding his feet.

That’s great, especially after all you’ve both been through recently.

Freddie is pretending to be invisible.

Cats always seem to think they're invisible.
They imagine they're like ghosts and we can safely walk through them.
That's why we're always tripping up on them.

He'd have a job now - it's a strong scar and the fur is growing back nicely. It'll soon be all a horrible memory! For me - he's probably moved on already 😄

I'm glad he hasn't been too traumatised by his summer living rough and still likes to go out because I love to see them living their best lives outside (we live in a very safe spot for cats). It's much nicer when you have a cosy warm house to return to, I'm sure!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/11/2024 11:43

@Esgaroth he does seem to have settled in very well - you've only had him a few months I think so you are obviously doing a great job. 👍

TheShellBeach · 21/11/2024 12:18

Oh dear.
Two women came to our door yesterday - a mum and daughter.

Their cat has been missing for a few days, and a few people told them that she was seen near our house.

Unfortunately, the missing cat looks very like Gizmo - but smaller, with pointy ears.

They'd also heard that their cat had been seen at the school - but I think that's Gizmo, too.

We were so sorry for them. It's cold and snowy, and this little cat never usually strays far.

I hope they find her. I showed her pictures of Gizmo and she could see that they were similar except Gizmo is quite a bit fatter

Oh I hope their fake Gizmo returns soon, unfazed and unrepentant 🤞

Isn't their "Gizmo" female....? Fancy Gizmo being mistaken for a she 🤔
Hope she turns up.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/11/2024 13:07

The idea of Gizmo having a body double who could be blamed for all his misdemeanours fills me with dread.
Hope missing puss turns up soon.
