Passports, buckets and spades - the Excellent Cats go on their holidays

The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

Sybil has exectes a bloodless coup concerning ownership of the box by evicting Basil and taking possession.

I am not popular today. I have put all the empty Amazon boxes in the recycling. Raven and Ghostie are now taking it in turns to lie on top of the recycling bag, lamenting the loss of their beds.

Speaking of TC - it's nice coming home and finding our cats on the doorstep rather than stripey intruders 🤣

I don't generally like to judge but...

When I say the loss of their beds, these are boxes which haven't been slept in for at least a week as Ghostie and Raven have moved on to other sleeping places. I wouldn't dare throw away an "in use" box.

Rum I assume you have therefore repented and ordered more 'stuff' from Amazon as penance 🤣

Of course! The cat tower thing should arrive today and I am fairly confident that it will be in a box. Probably a big one.

They WILL use the cat tree, I am thinking positively. It's a very fancy one and goes all the way up to the ceiling. I'd use it if I were small enough.

The new box has arrived. Ghostie is so pleased with it that she wouldn't even wait for me to open it.

Well, we've arrived home to discover from our neighbour that Gizmo has been sleeping at his house.

Not every night though. We'll see what he does tonight.

Okay, clarification.

Gizmo goes over during the day to have a nap at our neighbour's. Quite often.

But not overnight.

Gizmo does love neighbours! I'm glad to hear this is a kind and welcoming neighbour who allows the poor beast to visit (unlike CERTAIN people!!)

Yes, it's good to know that there are generous, kind-hearted people in the world.

This particular neighbour used to have a dog and a parrot.

He now seems to have an occasional cat.

Forgot I was going to post a photo, once I could get one, of Izzy using my keyboard as nature intended.

As a bonus, here's one taken today entitled "Still Life with Banana". (Just to be clear, she is alive.) Thrifty is one tubby kitty.

Well the cat tower thing is huge. I really need to learn to take notice of measurements when I buy things.

So far Toad has sat on the top two shelves, I think he's picked the highest as his favourite spot. Fred was lying on another shelf for a while and Frankie was in the cave. Now Frank has been evicted and Fred is in the cave.

Ghostie is in the box.

My friend thinks Fred looks like he's trying to lure a small child into a sewer 😂

Loving the pink nose and nostrils on Thrifty Annie My tuxedo cat has a black nose but occasionally when she's in a position that I peer up it I think I can see deep pink inside the nostrils.

Now that's what you call a cat tree Rum. How stable is it? Does it have to be anchored to a wall or something?

@CatsonPollock there is a thing that goes in the top that braces itself against the ceiling, plus there's an attachment you can use to attach it to the wall. I have no idea where it will eventually live, plus I'm shit at DIY so for now the tribe have to brave the wobbliness.

Annoyingly the tribe have all abandoned it now. Apparently a few hours was enough time 🙄 I've even hidden treats around and on it.

Give them time @RumNotRun. My boys absolutely love our cat tree.
