Passports, buckets and spades - the Excellent Cats go on their holidays

The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

Oh dear. I spoke too soon.

Gizmo made a second, confident attempt on the Get On To The Windowsill At All Costs manoeuvre.

And missed.

Oh no! Is he okay? Is he embarrassed? Or is it somehow all your fault?

TheShellBeach · 15/09/2024 13:36

LostCats · 15/09/2024 11:57

Oh dear. Is the pride injured? And is he ok if he fell?

He didn't hurt himself. I'm sure his pride was injured.

He just walked up the steps to the front door and miaowed to be let in.
🤣

I just don't understand why Gizmo doesn't attempt the obvious, shortest route up to the windowsill.

He sees Linney, Picard and Suzy doing it countless times a day.

But no. As he's Gizmo, he has to try a long flying leap from the top of the bin, instead of a short jump up from the top step.

I've told Mr SB that he'll have to construct a little ladder for Gizmo.

That's also cheaper than a monthly injection of Solensia.

Everything cats do at which they do not succeed is inevitably the owners' fault, so yes - he blames us.

Toad is having a very strenuous morning. He has such a hard life!

Sitting in my home office today and realised I was surrounded. They have all been here for the last four hours. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

I have no idea who is who, but they obviously think they need to keep an eye on you. Toad abandoned his cushion to keep a closer eye on my work. He managed to kick the mouse onto the floor and then sat on the keyboard.

Good luck - and my commiserations to your vet 🤣

Aw, she loves cats.
She's looked after all of ours, for the seven years we've been in Scotland.

The Broon One has gained more weight. He's now 6kg.

The White One was beautifully behaved, as usual.

The Broon One not so much.
We were treated to his usual growling and hissing.

🤣🤣🤣

Look you got him in the crate Shell - that would be a major win with my tabby!

RumNotRun · 16/09/2024 19:51

How did you manage that? Have you/Mr SB got a pair of chainmail gauntlets?

RumNotRun · 16/09/2024 21:12

Somebody is being weird to night. He keeps creeping up on the back of the sofa and meowing in my ear.

It’s a full moon. Louie is wild tonight - he just jumped up on the bookcase then practically onto my head in his descent. I can now hear him thundering around in the kitchen with his toys and am scared to go through to see what chaos is going on.

He was very helpful with my lesson prep this morning though.

I picked the bugger up from behind, wearing long sleeves and gloves, and Mr SB held the crate open, and we posted a protesting, spitting, hissing, growling Guillermo /Gizmo/TC/BroonOne through the door.

Then I just picked Linney up and he got into his basket without incident.

Louie looks sweet and innocent in that photo, and slightly perplexed.

He is precariously close to the delete button there!

They look very comfortable. But cats as a general principle look comfortable no matter what position they get themselves into (looking at you, Toad!).

I think someone needs to invent, as a matter of urgency, a cat menu choice machine which enables one to ask the fussy and ungrateful beast which type of healthy, delicious and expensive food she would prefer for her repast.

Yes, i am sick of being woken up at 5 a.m. by a creature who was given a perfectly good dinner but didn't eat it and is now on the verge of starvation.

Mine are going through that phase this week. I put the leftovers out for the gulls. They're not fussy 😁
