Passports, buckets and spades - the Excellent Cats go on their holidays

The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

If Louie was more obedient I definitely think I could monetise his dancing, mouse or no mouse. Anyway I let him through and he was quite calm, so perhaps the mouse did indeed exit - he then dashed out into the rain and I am taking no chances and have shut the back door. (We don’t have a cat flap and he hops up at the kitchen window to come in.)

Sybil has got a new favourite box.

She fits very well!

A milestone here tonight. I went and sat down on the bed as DP was cooking dinner, and Louie sat on my lap for the very first time. DP has said from the start that he wasn’t going to be a lap cat, but I had a feeling he might come round, especially as it starts to get colder. 🧡

Ooh - he might start doing lap dances.

I went to the chiropodist last week and he asked me what the puncture marks on my left foot and ankle were.

Picard and Gizmo, I said. They were growling at each other, and I foolishly stepped between them, instead of chucking water over them.

I can't bear sad animal stories. I actually turn the telly off when the RSPCA advert comes on.

Just had our first proper holiday since we got Finlay, lovely neighbour came in twice daily to feed and pet him but I was still worried that he would reject me when we returned, especially as he is out and about most of the time hunting etc
Came home today and he won’t even let me unpack!

I swapped to an AirTag collar whilst we were away as couldn’t expect my neighbour to mess about charging it etc, I missed it, but forced myself to only check AirTag once a day as I’m such a worrier, and it gave me a bit of reassurance that he’d been home or near an apple device elsewhere with location shown at some point in the previous few hours

Ex PR girlie here too, I now lecture in mainly digital marketing but dabble a bit in journalism modules too. My side hustle is managing my hairdresser’s social media which I really love doing.

I used to be a journalist. We have a lot in common and not just cats!

Did you go over to the dark side from journalism? I was a researcher in TV/radio as a new graduate but couldn’t cope with the short contracts and financial uncertainty as I was single/lived alone, so sold my soul. I now teach people to sell theirs 🤦🏻‍♀️

Louie is so cute, he has such an earnest expression like he's really concentrating!
