Passports, buckets and spades - the Excellent Cats go on their holidays

The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

@YesItsMeIDontCare Excellent well done Leroy

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/08/2024 20:52

Holiday cat number one - spotted appropriately enough in Mousehole.
Far too snooty to say hello though 🤣

HC1 looks like it has no ears. Maybe she (he?) is trying a bit of reverse psychology thinking if she ignores you then you'll give her some ham/chicken to try to make friends.

Just saw this on FB and thought it was worth sharing. www.facebook.com/share/r/2n9z1Y6P8etMSvao/

Lack of ears: is it a cat/ baby marmoset cross?

HouseofHolbein · 26/08/2024 10:28

Just got the idiot sisters in the pet carriers for their trip to the vet for boosters. Wonder how much they will wail on the way there?

Pixiedust1234 · 26/08/2024 10:41

I hope you have ear defenders. It's bad enough having one "wailer" in a car.

I'm starting to wonder if Gizmo has evicted the humans from his pad or whether Shell got turned to stone trying to make that bed Shock

TheShellBeach · 26/08/2024 11:21

Gizmo and Picard had another long mutual growling and hissing session yesterday.

DS2 tried to get rid of Picard and got scratched for his pains.

Ouch! Maybe it's time to invest in one of those boards that pig breeders use at shows (or a riot shield with helmet)? I use a tea tray on madam to block her path but she's not in full territorial mode like your two boys. Hopefully DS isn't too badly wounded.

HouseofHolbein · 26/08/2024 13:02

All good clean bill of health and jabs done for another year 😊 need to book Wednesday in for a dental checkup but hadn't got my work rota with me to sort it out so that's a job for another day

Papergirl1968 · 26/08/2024 20:34

We brought a secondhand pram yesterday in preparation for another DGD arriving just before Christmas. It’s a single that converts to a double as they’ll only be 18 months apart
i dumped the carrycot on the floor as it will get a good clean first, and went in to find Matt had appropriated it.
At least he was on it and not in, I suppose.

And Socks, the quietest and most biddable cat ever, has taken to howling to get into the garage.
We had no electricity in part of the house for a few days so I had to run an extension lead from the dining room into the garage to power the fridge freezer, which meant leaving the door to the garage open.
This was met with universal approval from the cats who enjoyed a potter around the garage, where there are all sorts of exciting things like recycling bags and cardboard boxes and probably spiders.
Now the power is back on and the door shut again Socks is most put out and shouting her annoyance as well as standing on her back legs trying to reach the handle.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 26/08/2024 20:59

I found a dead mouse in a rain filled decorative pot in the garden earlier. Did it fall in, enjoying a drink, or was it this bad cat, who also has a go at my pea and ham soup earlier?

He looks very urbane and relaxed in the first one! Is that a Molly's mouse nearby?

RumNotRun · 26/08/2024 21:08

I took Toad and Ghostie outside for a while earlier. Ghostie is such a little poser.

It’s actually the print on the bedding, little yellow leopards - he does however have many, many mouses!

Talking of bedding, here is Gizmo showing off ours.

Louie would never do anything so naughty to a poor mouse. The verdict is accidental death (bangs gavel).
Ghostie looking gorgeous there.

Looks quite balletic - rehearsing for Swan Lake!😀

RumNotRun · 27/08/2024 09:01

Gizmo showing off his beautiful spotty tummy. I know I'd be shredded but I would not be able to resist stroking or kissing it.

Papergirl1968 · 27/08/2024 09:12

That is a lovely tummy. I’d want to bury my face in it (at the risk of having my eyes scratched out).

I don't want to lose an arm.

Today I have failed in my role as cat slave. Thistle finally came in for his wet breakfast about 20 minutes ago, and was most put out it didn't just appear ready for him (he was several hours late). My daughter has taken a picture of him laid just outside of the room I am (supposed to be) working from. He's laid in waiting to either trip me up, or glare at me with utter contempt 🙄. I will make amends later, probably in blood...

HC2 is unphotographed as of yet but appeared briefly in the garden of the cottage we are staying in - looks like a silver Bengal.
HC3 (photo below) was on a hot tin roof at a site we visited today. I'm worried that TC may be on holiday in Cornwall too 🙀

I haven't seen him all day, so it's possible.
