The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

Louie celebrated International Cat Day by hunting, killing, and eating a spider, then spitting its chewed corpse on the bedroom floor. Thanks, Louie-Boo.

Does he have a special spider dance to celebrate?

We were having another chair stand off today, with biting.
Then I turned the heater on, right in front of the chair. End of battle. 😄

There’s something about how he curls up with his little paw over his face, you are supposed to forget he’s a bossy bitey bastard sometimes. Works perfectly.
Louie is definitely laying back, resting like a righteous man after a day going good. 😄

How can you tell if a cat is bored?
I'm so used to Ollie who would yell at me 24/7 and sleep for 45 mins a day
I worry shady is sleeping as he's bored but maybe he's just a normal cat

Shady just mooches about, and mostly sleeps next to me when I work. The window is open but he doesn't like going out much. Tends to have a sniff outside about 9pm

@spikeandbuffy - generally a bored cat will get destructive, aggressive and/or territorial. So lots of attacking, spraying, pooing, overgrooming, that kind of thing. Sounds to me like Shady is lazy just enjoys the quiet life 😁

(I may have watched a lot of episodes of My Cat From Hell 😁)

@spikeandbuffy I was thinking that the other day and ended up buying a giant cat tree! My lot seem to spend a lot of time sleeping at the moment. Maybe it's the temperature? I've tried to play with toys with them, old favourites like the laser pen, but no interest.

Toad spends most of his time sitting like this, just at the top of the stairs outside the bathroom which is just weird.

On the topic of genealogy, I got all my house deeds today from the solicitor as I'd requested them. It looks like the majority of owners of my house were women which struck me as unusual for 1894 (the first one) up until 1957. The women were mainly specified as married yet the husbands' names appeared nowhere on any of the documents.

As a single woman home owner, that made me feel like my little Victorian terrace has a kind of feminist history. I did tell the cats but they were distinctly unimpressed 😁
