The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

this missy gave me a stressful time this week with having a seizure, she's a rescue so 18-20 we're not sure but looking positive on results so far, just a big thanks for always keeping those lurking smiling

She is beautiful. Fingers crossed that the results stay good.

Lexter has been asleep in the cave of the cat tower almost all day. He's now decided it's dinner time.

Sorry to bring the mood down but I am really sad today. I teach undergrads and when they finish their course I let them add me on Instagram as I post there every day. Today I had an awful message from one of my class who just graduated - her wee cat was run down and killed overnight, and she had a call from the vet this morning. Thank goodness someone had been kind enough to bring her in. She was only one, a sweet little black girl. I feel so so sad for her - she’s absolutely distraught and feels so guilty too. They brought the cat home and have buried her in the garden this afternoon. Poor student and poor little cat, barely more than a kitten. 🖤

Sorry for such a depressing post. My DP thinks I am weird to be so upset about a cat I never even met. I think it’s kind of triggered me because yesterday was four months since we had our girl PTS maybe. I also feel so awful for my ex student and can really feel her pain, I hope someone here understands!

I think all of us here will understand. Hugs to you and your ex student.

Hopefully it was quick, if not immediate, and it was decent of whoever to bring the cat to the vets. If there was any suffering, it was short lived. The cat’s experience of life (for the year) was probably one of care and affection. It is important to remember that.

@Cailleach1 that's pretty much what I said to her. I also said to get the vet to take her paw prints so she rang and asked for that before they collected her.

The same happened to my first cat, a tiny calico called Helix. It was heartbreaking, but someone took her to the vets so I found out very quickly. So, so sad though.

Toby Toad is enjoying the sun but a bit shocked that his sister Raven is using him to rest her leg on.

Just had major cuteness. Watching the Olympics, and as usual Tobias came down half an hour before dinner time & sat on the arm at the other end of the sofa looking hopeful. Girlcat promptly jumped down from the back onto the seat & sauntered over to him then presented her head which he started grooming, then moved on to her face and neck for ages while she sat there obviously enjoying his ministrations. He clearly adores and worships her, and she's very happy to accept this from him as her right.

May not sound much to some, but there is possibly little in this world as adorable to me as cats behaving lovingly towards each other.

@Allergictoironing that is adorable 🥰 I love it when they groom each other. Toad always gets the female cats to groom him, demanding little sod.

Earlier I was lying in bed reading with Vixen on top of me. Raven jumped up on to the bed and I was expecting hissing as Raven doesn't share, but instead they both gave each other a tiny lick on the head in turn. It wasn't a particularly enthusiastic display of grooming from either of them, but it was the closest sign of affection that I've ever seen them give each other.

Mine were doing the absolute opposite today. Thrifty followed me upstairs when I came in from work, and demanded strokes before I was allowed to change. Izzy jumped on the bed to join in and Thrifty promptly boxed her ears so she jumped off again.

A bit later Izzy was dozing on the windowsill when Thrifty tried to walk past her by tiptoeing along the radiator. Thrifty is a stout cat with big paws so it wasn't going well. Izzy gave her a push and she fell off. Revenge complete.

Mostly they get on ok but they do have their moments.

Shame we can't post videos as I have a sweet one of my friend's mother and son cats grooming each other....but then if we could post videos the site would collapse from cuteness overload.....

Toad is possessed (right hand side) but Frankenstein appears to have laser eyes. They were both staring as they felt I hadn't given enough Dreamies and ham.
