We are not pandering to this entitled behaviour, so we seem to be at an impasse at the moment.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/07/2024 17:17

I'd like to put a record on. Alas this really is Sybil's current favourite spot now so I will pander to her entitled behaviour and avoid musical entertainment.
(To be fair DS2 has just started playing Haydn sonatas in the music room so I've now got what I wanted anyway 😁)

Look at her face, happily dreaming of her erstwhile love.

Is Gizmo due his next injection @TheShellBeach ? Just wondering if he is getting a bit stiff?

Pudmyboy · 19/07/2024 17:59

(or he's just being Gizmo!)

YesItsMeIDontCare · 19/07/2024 18:04

It would take a right evil sod to move that precious sleeping beauty 🥰

I did wonder that. Yes, he's due his vaccination boosters and another Solensia next week.

I bet the vet and her nurse are really looking forward to seeing him again

I've just given DS2 an informative list about when to feed the cats etc. while we're away. He's definitely going to sleep here.

He was looking through the list and nodding, until he came to the bit about Gizmo miaowing at the door during the night..............

"Wait, what..........................he'll wake me up to let him back in at 3am or 4am?"

Yes. That's about the size of it, DS2. Aren't you a lucky boy?

Mind you, he's the one who is a trained bouncer - maybe he'll actually chuck Gizmo out, not allow him to get back in.

Your DS may have met his match!

Have a lovely holiday Shell and Mr SB

Cailleach1 · 19/07/2024 19:59

Have a lovely holiday, and especially enjoy sleeping through the night. Maybe your DS will have Gizmo trained to come in through the open window by the time you return.

Papergirl1968 · 19/07/2024 20:37

Hope you’re feeling better today, @Supersimkin7 This heat is enough to make anyone swoon x

CatsonPollock · 20/07/2024 08:03

Just reading this article in the Guardian about the random things that cats can bring back. I don't think any of the cats I've had the pleasure of sharing my life with have ever brought anything weird back.

Are any of the "excellent " cats on here sneaky ninja cat burglars? 😄

RumNotRun · 20/07/2024 08:43

The first cat that I adopted (as opposed to family pets when I was a child) bought me all manner of strange objects. Some were relatively understandable, like the leftovers from a roast dinner, a dead pigeon with no marks or injuries on it, chicken bones etc. However he also bought in a solid plastic ball, about 5cm in diameter, various toys that looked like they were from Happy Meals, and a sock. What made some of it stranger (like the pigeon and solid ball) is that to get into the house,he had to jump onto a 4/5ft wall, then onto a single storey extension roof, through the cat flap, and then in the case of the pigeon, bring it downstairs and leave it under the coffee table.

Another cat would catch moths. Perfectly unharmed live moths which he would gently carry in his mouth then spit out once he was in the same room as me.

Our current pair are real kleptomaniacs Blush

They've brought in multiple cat toys (mostly but not all from the two cats next door), including one of those squeaky feathery fishing rods 🎣 (heaven knows how they got it through the cat flap presumably backwards Confused), an undamaged chicken egg (that I ended up using), a wee girl's toy unicorn, live frogs, rubber bands and worms Hmm

Oh lol! My 2 are complete failures. Although I guess I should be grateful that we don't have to deal with pigeons under the coffee table or worms (!) Although the occasional free egg could be nice.

As an aside, I was this many years old when I found out that frogs scream when attacked! One of my cats did corner a tiny frog in the garden and it screamed blue murder. I ran outside thinking it was the cat! (I grew up in a rural area as well...😳)

Having an indoor cat has its benefits 😁

Oh yes! About the worst I've had is Girlcat sauntering into the living room looking smug, with a spider's legs poking out of her mouth still gently waving.

Though I did have the incident of the conservatory invasion by mice, so I just let them go in there & earn their keep. No disembowelled mice left lying about was a bonus, they would just "play" with them until the mouse died from either shock or internal injuries & leave a perfect looking corpse for me to tidy away.

Picard came in to shelter from the rain.

Cat Two brings in gum nuts and leaves and puts them in our shoes. When she brings in mice, they’re for Cat One and Three. They play with them together.
I am quite happy to get the vegan presents.

There is some serious karma for Gizmo right there on the window sill. 😂

There has been a great deal of hissing and growling going on this afternoon.

Picard still wanders past Gizmo, who retreats under the coffee table.

Linney pays no attention.

It's interesting that The Famous Thug Cat is intimidated by Picard.

I can't believe that Shell is allowing her poor little innocent fluffy kitten to be bullied by big bad Picard.
What has Gizmo ever done to you?
