Very little information about these cats - mother and daughter Havana Browns.

They are very beautiful and gentle - happy to be picked up already and exploring the room. Mum is much more confident than the daughter.

They're going to the vet this week to get scanned for chips, and a general health check.

Aren’t they stunning! Congratulations

Runningbird43 · 20/05/2024 10:19

Wow! Were they from a breed specific rescue?

Unusual cats :)

Youllnevergetabetterbitofbutteronyourknife · 20/05/2024 10:22

Oh wow! They are absolutely stunning!! 😍 Are you keeping them?

TheHavanaCats · 20/05/2024 10:33

We're definitely keeping them!

Wow! Were they from a breed specific rescue?

Unusual cats :)

They were from a friend of a friend of a friend - hence very little history.

They were with a young couple in a small flat in London - they adored them but realised quite quickly that they didn't have room or time for them.

They didn't want them to go to a rescue and got her mum to ask her friends.

We do not need two more cats, but are very experienced with orientals and have lots of space.

Some more photos of our girls- they're settling in well - eating and drinking and starting to find their voices!

They are beautiful! I’d never heard of them.

Pudmyboy · 21/05/2024 21:35

Wow they are very striking looking, beautiful shiny fur and sculptural faces, they remind me of pictures of Egyptian cats, gorgeous!
Well done to you guys for giving them a forever home!
(Any plans to keep in touch with their first-home folks to show them they are happy?)

TheHavanaCats · 21/05/2024 23:16

We don't have any contact details for their original home, but have already sent loads of photos to the lovely couple we got them from.

Will definitely stay in touch with them - they were devastated to give them up, but didn't have enough room or time.

Off for their vet check tomorrow - the older one's nipples are quite enlarged so she's either pregnant or has just finished feeding a litter.

Lovely photos! How did you get on at the vets today @TheHavanaCats ?

TheHavanaCats · 22/05/2024 18:14

Annoyingly I had to move the appointment to Friday 😾

I think I might have found pictures of them online from a previous listing on Pets4Homes. It's been deleted so I can't see any details but looks very like them and right area.

I would love to know more about where they came from and if they are pedigree.

Doesn't matter really but they are such a beautiful shape and colour - much better shape than our pedigree Siameses 😸

Havana browns are beautiful. We have a choc point Siamese boy at the mo and my family always had Siamese cats. Our previous seal point boy was show standard and we were persuaded by his breeder to show him (just once, unsuccessfully). We saw Havanas at the same show and were smitten, but it’s never worked out for us. They aren’t easy to come by. Enjoy your lovely girls. 😍

BirthdayRainbow · 24/05/2024 17:40

How can you say you didn't need two more cats? We all need more cats. I hope yours settle well and are happy, they seem so so far.

Bit odd that you will know who to keep I touch with but not if they've had a litter recently.

Riverlee · 24/05/2024 17:43

They’ve very regal. Beautiful.

Just an aside, does anyone gave Siamese cats anymore? Growing up, you seem to have tabbies, gingers, moggies and Siamese cats.

SabrinaThwaite · 24/05/2024 18:04

We have a Siamese - best thing we ever did, stunningly pretty and so affectionate (although I loved our naughty tortie too - despite her being so bloody difficult).

Mindblownawaybyfog · 24/05/2024 18:17

Yabu to say you didn't NEED 2 more dcats.. Doesn't everyone??
Absolute beauties op.
Once had a Persian who terrorised our ndn ddog. It was a Boxer.. And looked like one when dcat gave it a bloody nose!

RickyGervaislovesdogs · 24/05/2024 18:19

They’re lovely OP.

Madcats · 24/05/2024 19:06

We've had Siamese for about 25 years. Our current brother and sister are daft as brushes.

We were lined up to get some Havannas about 4 years ago (but the litter didn't thrive).

I suspect that you might be getting a litter (or possibly the older cat has a tumour).

Kittens are lunatics: good luck!

TheHavanaCats · 24/05/2024 19:44

All good at the vet (although he was new and looked about 12😆).

I think we know a lot more about Siamese and Orientals than he did; he confirmed that mum wasn't heavily pregnant but did think she had had kittens quite recently from the state of her nipples and because her fur is quite thin.

We will get them both spayed soon but just want to let them settle a bit more first - they have had a lot of changes in the last few weeks.

We've done a bit lot of internet stalking and think we have identified the woman who bred them - just trying to find out where she is now as we would like to know when they need their vaccinations etc.
