Clarion call to all the cats from the last thread and a warm welcome to any new ones who want to join us.

Hmm, you may want to rethink that with a few of them - TC and Tobias coming to mind!

I may be able to occasionally stroke Tobias (but only when he's eating) but if anyone else gets close he goes full on "attack is the best form of defense" mode and his claws are like scalpels.

And just ask Grumpy about TC.....

😱🐈🐈‍⬛

Boone has the right idea for today.

Happy birthday to Truffle! Raising a glass of pawsecco to mark the occasion 🥂🎂

You know, when I first looked at the photo, I thought there was a cat-shaped hole in a flat picture.

I didn't see a three dimensional figure with an actual cat sitting in it.
🤣

And this is how black cats earn their "Welcome to the Void" reputation! 😆

All my photos come under this category (sigh!)

RumNotRun · 23/03/2024 12:07

Frankie sends sleepy birthday greetings.

Oh Frankie. Are you worn out?

Linney just came in from the rain 🌧

He's drying himself very carefully now, in preparation for going out and getting soaked again.

So many tired kitties. Clearly we've been working them too hard.

SisyphusDad · 23/03/2024 14:15

Rosie popped along to say that you can't get two much of a good thing!

Arthur and myself joined the thread yesterday. Last evening I saw him in the garden marching on the spot, tail up spraying up the fence!!! Are neutered toms meant to be doing this??? 🐈‍⬛

RumNotRun · 23/03/2024 15:16

@DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats I used to have a neutered cat who sprayed. I put it down to the UTIs he'd had previously but I don't know if that actually was the reason. He sprayed my leg once, that was...nice.

Frank seems to have only 3 modes: sleeping; stealing food from my plate; glowering.

Truffle briefly woke up to date thank you for all the birthday wishes. Such a shame that her litter-mate, Fudge, isn’t here to enjoy it with her, but she crossed the Rainbow Bridge about 8 yrs ago.
Neutered males can and do spray, as can females on occasion but more rarely.

DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats · 23/03/2024 15:37

@RumNotRun Hmm he hasn’t had any wee infections. He had his anal glands cleared (?) at the vets a while ago. All very odd. Loving Frank’s glower. 🐈‍⬛

@DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats (totally agree with your user name btw) my 17 yr old girl does this in the garden, I think it's something to do with next door's 5 cats who are frequent visitors, she's just marking her territory!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/03/2024 16:13

@DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats Ours do this occassionally when outside. I tend to think if they are weeing up a tree or a fence outside it's a bonus because it saves them using the litter box.

LostCats · 23/03/2024 18:19

Boone, our older boy did this when we got Eko. I took it as marking his home territory. Never did it again.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 23/03/2024 18:52

@DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats - Perfectly normal. Even neutered animals mark. It's less territorial, more for information iykwim. Leroy pisses up everything like a dog when we're out 🤦🏼‍♀️

Don't think it’s weeing Grumpy it’s sort of a spray. Bless him. At least he doesn’t do it indoors 😱🐈‍⬛

I think that could be it. There are certainly other cats in the vicinity x

RumNotRun · 23/03/2024 22:38

Frankenstein is actually a very sweet handsome little cat (who has commandeered my pillow) but he looks demonic in all photos.

@RumNotRun Frankenstein! 🤣🤣

That's his full name for when he's being naughty but usually he is just Frankie. Also known as Frankincense, Frankfurter, Franklestiltskin, or Lego cat (as he has a strangely cube shaped head)

HouseofHolbein · 24/03/2024 09:46

My youngest daughter is named Francesca. She goes by the same nicknames as your Frank @RumNotRun 🤣🤣

Ha ha ha! It’s so hard not to call them by all sorts of weirdy names that aren’t theirs. My black cat is Arthur but we call him lots of things. Shinny. Mr Shins. The Shinmeister. Can’t help myself

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/03/2024 09:58

I need to leave the house in 13 minutes. Sybil has her backside on my shoulder and is purring her head off pacing on my arm (which of course I can't move).
Suggestions? The church choir needs me (and definitely needs DS2 as he will be playing the organ)
