Aw Tita! Look at you!

She's getting braver, @Imatorturedpoet

You must be thrilled.

I am thrilled! And even better, this morning she came straight up on the sofa again for loves 😊

TheShellBeach · 21/04/2024 12:49

@Imatorturedpoet considering Tita's life before you rescued her, it's wonderful that she's started to interact with you now.

Definitely. She is still jumpy, but this morning I was able to walk past her on the landing without her running away.

All those things demonstrate how much more used to you Tita is becoming.

@Imatorturedpoet That's fantastic! It is so rewarding when they start to come for love and affection.

Frankie is still quite an antisocial little cat, but he does give me brief under the cover cuddles in bed whenever I go for a sleep.

Thanks Grumpy, I don't know how I missed the TC thread update!

Inspired by the squishmallow bed conversation, I moved Fred's shark to the sofa. He has now rediscovered it and remembered that he loves it.

'I don't care what someone else's cat on mumsnet did, I'm not sleeping in that shark bed.'

Finlay loves his big slipper but hardly ever uses his proper house bed

The new collar. He’s not minding it. I think it’s quite comfy x

Very jealous of anyone who can get a cat to go on an actual cat bed.
Currently Breadcat has taken to sleeping under our bed. Apparently convenient if we get up during the night as she can ask for a snack! Also convenient to give ankles a swipe if no snack is forthcoming.
@DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats very sweet picture in the yellow daisy collar - I am sure you will pay for that later!

Imatorturedpoet · 21/04/2024 22:41

Tita is coming along in leaps and bounds this weekend! This evening when I came home she came when called for the first time. Then she laid on the foot stool for the first time. Then .... she sat on my lap!! I'm amazed.

She's beautiful. Lovely soft fur too.

Loving all the photos on the thread. Sorry for not commenting on them all, I lose track of names 😳

That collar does look comfy! I'm thinking it could maybe help with my neck ache - does it come in extra large? 😆

Great news re the newly "lapped" kitties!

Papergirl1968 · 21/04/2024 23:44

Dd stuck her head into my bedroom this morning to find me and two sleeping cats, commented that I looked like a mad cat lady, and retreated. How rude! (But accurate) 😂

DaBlackCatsAreDaBestCats · 22/04/2024 08:39

@Breadcat24 He was meant to wear a cone and stay in for two weeks. By day three he was a broken man. He so loves his freedom. I think he was stressing over his territory and who might be trespassing. We take the collar off for him to go out and he wears it at night. It’s to allow a burst cyst on his head to heal by minimising scratching. Vet checked it a week ago. Nothing sinister. It’ll take longer to heal if he’s not wearing it during the day but I honestly couldn’t see him so down x

Defiantlynot41 · 22/04/2024 08:44

@Supersimkin2 are you (& Prince & Haveasnack) OK? Haven't seen you on here for a while, hope all is good? 🐈🐈‍⬛

Supersimkin2 · 22/04/2024 20:57

We three are all good thank you so much 😎

I’ve had a bug - cats are in rude health. They kept the household routine alive while the staff were off sick by supporting strict timing for nutritional opportunities.

I had a fever dream about sharing the bed with a Savannah. Prince is reaching his full
adult weight.

Try waking up with Matt on your chest, Lana. Less weighted blanket, more like a block of concrete that crushes you. (And then pats your face and nips your arms until you get up to serve breakfast).
Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly. Need to get these cats trained up to bring you a mug of tea and a packet of biscuits in bed on command.

Imatorturedpoet · 22/04/2024 22:47

More Tita updates! Tonight she laid on my lap briefly and also purred a little, first time I've heard her purr ❤️

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/04/2024 07:29

We went over to FWK's yesterday evening.
Some photos attached.

Cedric however then grew bored of our company and preferred to watch TV. 😁

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats those kittens just get cuter!

@Supersimkin2 sorry to hear you've been poorly. I also have a weird lurgy, very bad chesty cough but not covid. Cats not helpful here either.

Fab photos everyone

Allergictoironing · 23/04/2024 08:13

I'll third about cats not being helpful. Just had cataract surgery less than a week ago, so need to protect that eye from anything & everything that may be floating about (yay housework especially vacuuming banned for 2 weeks!).

So Girlcat has decided to go from mildly moulting to frantically shedding as much as she can, holding it back until I cuddle her, then releasing it all in a floating cloud. Cuddles have to be done with 1 eye firmly shut!

And Tobias has upped his habit of scrabbling after using the tray. I think when he buries his poo he goes into a sort of trance & just keeps going for ages long after the offending item has been buried. This of course breaks down the wood pellet litter much faster than normal usage and it's also dryer, so floats & moves about especially during cleaning. I've had to resort to a "pirate" style eye patch cleaning the trays.

Supersimkin2 · 23/04/2024 09:47

Matt 🏅he is so loving, but it can be a bit much if a lady wishes to move or breathe. So tender!

Allergic - 😎 sunglasses for moulting. Also sellotape (not parcel tape, don’t ask me how I know that). Congrats on the op and no hoovering Cap’n. 🏴‍☠️

Cedric!!!!! She’s just adorable. How can anyone be so fudgy yet so disapproving.

Defiantly - This horrible cough bug is the worst - I dodged it but the streets round here are echoing with piteous hacking of tubercular Victorians. GP said it was really nasty and dished out ABs so ‘you don’t get pneumonia’.

We had 175 refugees for an Eid celebration up the road. The food was magnificent, lamb pilaf with humus, guess who got the leftovers. Havelock picked the meaty chunks out and ran off growling. Incredible Fanny Craddock-style party cakes iced in green, brown and violet 🤤

Allergictoironing · 23/04/2024 11:42

That's the second eye done, so hopefully all sorted now & no more going around with one thick -6 lens in and one empty space in the glasses, and things still being not terribly clear. Feels really really odd watching TV & everything is clear, without wearing glasses. Also means I can get a normal readers prescription once this one has fully settled, which will make PC work so much better. Plus decent sunglasses for when I'm driving, been using clip-ons for a while as I wasn't going to spend a fortune on new ones with one lens prescription & the other plain when they would be useless soon.

Don't know what the kitties will think when I go back to work tomorrow week though. They've got used to me being here 24/7, and Tobias is particularly happy as he knows the sound of me preparing food & expects cold meat when I eat (chicken usually), twice a day when I'm at home rather than the once when I'm at work.

Girlcat is also pleased that I'm available on tap for fuss when she feels like it. Spends most of her time in the Doughnut bed, but likes me to be ready & waiting for cuddles when she comes down for a snack or mad half hour. Good thing I'm still only on the PC in half hour stints - any longer & this tiny elegant paw starts to pat my leg for attention 💖😍
