Cat pinched and ate a food today I didn’t expect her

[Soubriquet]

She’s normally one for begging when we have meat based foods such as chicken. I will happily toss her some chicken too especially Chinese chicken.

Today, I had a chippie. I ate all the sausage so when I finished eating but had chips left, I didn’t think much of it. Cat jumped up, sniffed a chip…the pinched it and ate it.

Granted they are cooked in beef dripping from this particular restaurant but I didn’t expect her to eat it

I had one as a teenager that loved maltezers, he heard you opening a packet from anywhere in the house and then would sit on my lap like a baby whilst I held it for him to lick the chocolate off😝

He eats anything and everything- probably a legacy from when he was a stray and eating out of bins.

When Haribo was a kitten and my back was turned for a split second he stole the last piece of malt loaf which I'd buttered. He carried it to his food bowl to eat. I took it off him and ate it myself, well it was the last piece.

Our Prince loves marshmallows!! Didn't know this until I left a packet open on the coffee table, went to make a cuppa, and he was scoffing one when I came back! 🙈 and he also loves Belvita Breakfast Biscuits!!! 🙈 he will actively and aggressively try to eat them when I have them for breakfast, and gets very annoyed if I thwart his efforts to eat them (which I do). 😳🙄

I think it's the salt. I had one that went mad for chips, salted popcorn and Marmite on toast.

My cat moved her fella in a few years back and he used to like to lick sweet and sour sauce off pieces of my pasta.

I just love this. It’s so funny.

Does it have valerian in it? My Cat used to go crazy for teabags that had that inside it. Apparently it's very similar in scent to catnip or something

Oh, and Cheesy Wotsits. One of my Siamese loved these.

Yup so did Felix. He was partial to a handful of cheesy watsits

My first cat loved tinned sweetcorn. My last cat went crazy for melon rind.

One of my cats goes crazy if I have a chicken noodle soup from our Chinese takeaway. She practically has her head in the bag looking for it the second the food arrives, then proceeds to try to steal all of the chicken from it.

He did love his milkshake!

My little void loves marmite on toast

Sour cream & onion pringles.

Cake - all types. Croissants.
Buttered toast.
Gravy, marmite, custard , extra strong cheddar cheese, tomato and goes nuts for ham

Mine tried a bran flake the other day and would probably have eaten more if I hadn't lifted the bowl. She tried to get my cheese roll today - loves butter and cheese and is quite partial to a slice of bread. She has also helped herself to Pringles, chicken curry and chili con carne in the past. I have given up worrying about the effect on her as she appears to be fine. She gets superior cat food but would clearly prefer human food. Our old cat loved cucumber. and Christmas cake!

Mine is on a grain free diet so no way is she getting bread. Just half of the cheese any time I have a cheese sandwich, it’s obligatory. And some of the butter

I got fed up of being paw swiped at whilst eating liquer chocolates, held out a choc and said 'See - you won't like it!'
I was very wrong, nearly lost a finger. Can't have them in the house now.

Whenever I was rinsing green beans or mange tout in cold water, my Boycat would hook one out of the bowl like a fishy and run off with it in his mouth to a corner, where he would fang holes in it but clearly hated the taste, it was just the hunting experience... 🙄
