Would anyone like to meet our new babies?

Some of you will recognise my name as we sadly lost my girl on Christmas/Boxing Day. I hate having a cat-free home so yesterday we adopted two babies who have spent over half their lives in the shelter. Currently hiding behind the dishwasher but I do have a photo or two. Who would like to meet them?

I still get sad about my Bonnie but these aren't going to replace her, just eventually fill that feline-shaped hole at home.

Meet Kizzy and Fizzy. The first photo is them at home the second is the one we saw on the website. They're 6 months old and VERY frightened but they've eaten and drunk, and used the litter tray so I'm not concerned that we haven't seen them. I'm just spending time in the same room as them quietly to get them used to us and hopefully we'll get there.

I was going to change their names but DS2 won't let me.

Fizzy is a boy and has a little white patch on his chin and is the braver of the two.

Oh they are gorgeous! I think they’ll grow in confidence quite quickly, my rescue girl went from hissing and trying to rip my hand off if I even breathed near her to being a full on lap cat within 4 weeks.

You’ve got the right idea sitting with them. Maybe bring in some extra stinky treat food to give them while you’re in there so they decide you are the bringer of delicious things and like you.

We rescued 2 black kittens 10 yrs ago - well mum and daughter, but mum was very young when she had her kittens - took about 3 days before they ventured out to us

My son had one of those high beds at the time, and they used to get on the top of that and ended up being fed there for a couple of days 🤣

Oh I do love a black cat - all of mine have been black apart from the current contingent.
