Two of our DC are coming to visit us tomorrow for a few days, so we drove fifteen miles to the car wash. We left the window open for Linney to get in and out. Obviously, this means that Picard and Suzy can also get in.

Just before we went, DH put Linney's bowl of wet food on the work surface, so that Picard wouldn't eat it. (Linney never jumps up on the work surfaces).

Well, we got back and the bowl was empty, which suggests that Linney has started to jump on to the work surfaces, or that Picard has entered via the window, realised the food was on the work surface, and jumped up to get to it.

Or maybe Suzy did. All three of them were in the front garden when we got back.

Long Lenny,
He started off asleep on the bag and has continued to slowly slide off it during the day 🤣

Just remembered - saw in the news the other day that the Brighton Cat Killer has died of cancer while serving his sentence.

I suspect an Egyptian cat god had something to do with that brute’s premature demise.

Lenny becomes Dali-esque. Too hot for them, poor babies.

Frankie's favourite position at the moment is lying across two bags of litter, back legs spread like he's a squashed frog, shoulders, arms, and head dangling off the bag. It looks so uncomfortable but I've moved cat beds for him, blankets, boxes, but that's how he chooses to sleep.

You know your cat may a tad spoiled when you put the cushions out specifically for the cat in the morning

Agatha may be getting a bit squished, but she still loves sitting in her plant pot.

A cat had caught a glis glis. So I googled this as never heard of before. European Edible Dormouse! So many questions - but mainly - who defines the ‘edible’ - because surely to cats all rodents are edible 🤣

Those Egyptians have a lot to answer for. It's thanks to them that cats still think they are gods and that us mere mortals exist purely to serve them.

I'm not sure it's the Egyptians' fault tbh. I mean, cats are deities and us mortals are here to serve them - there's no 'think' about it 😂

Excited that I can answer this LostCats! The edible dormouse is the largest type of dormouse and the Romans thought they were a great delicacy. Serving dormice roasted in honey at your Roman dinner party was a definite sign of being the hostess with the mostest!

I wonder if the ancient Egyptians clung to the edges of their beds while their kitties sprawled comfortably in the middle, or nearly wet themselves because they had a snoozing cat on their lap who couldn't be turfed off. Or were constantly up and down letting them in and out. 🤔 Somehow I suspect so.

This is Russell. He is adoring the Indian Summer and watches insects for hours. When he sits like this you can waggle his paws and he likes it.
