Walter is busting some smoove moves.

TheShellBeach · 04/05/2023 12:27

Allergic, it's heartening to read your Tobias updates, and how good of him to be your self-appointed lavatory attendant.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 04/05/2023 12:45

You're vulnerable when you're going to the loo! They're protecting you 🥰

(from exactly what I'm not sure, but they know what they're doing)

Florissante · 04/05/2023 13:00

You never know when a lion will appear out of nowhere.

TheShellBeach · 04/05/2023 15:00

...................................or maybe they just want to see what's in the bathroom, the door of which is usually closed so that they can't get in.
It's the innate nosiness of cats, innit.
That's why they climb trees and have to be rescued.
Or get on to roofs and have to be rescued.
Or get stuck up chimneys and have to be rescued.

Or find themselves in the airing cupboard/larder/store cupboard and miaow piteously to be let out again.

Allergictoironing · 04/05/2023 18:23

Old fashioned 50's built ex-council house - separate loo & bathroom & they can't really be knocked into one. They have access to the (very small) bathroom 24/7, though not the loo as I have nightmares about cats falling into the loo and drowning - though much less likely now dearest Boycat is no more.

You're allowed to close doors in your house? Every door in this house is "cat width". (Cupboards currently excluded, but he tries)

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 04/05/2023 18:28

We used to tell ASBO he couldn’t get into the lounge because that’s where we keep the kitten. Pretty sure he believed us too as he always gave it a thorough inspection if we did let him.

Well, the bathroom door is always closed.
So is the store cupboard and the airing cupboard.
Everywhere else is open.
When one of us goes into the store cupboard, a cat often sneaks in with us, and we only find this out when we hear frantic scrabbling and miaowing, because he or she has been locked in.

RumNotRun · 04/05/2023 23:04

Bathroom doors can close? I haven't dared to test mine, I think there would be a mass protest if I did.

My beloved Favourite Cat (RIP) used to insist on curling up in the crotch of my trousers/joggers while I was on the toilet. Such a weirdo. Another cat used to sit half on the cistern and half on my shoulder.

I do make sure the toilet lid is always down though as one of my cats has fallen in the toilet before. She was not impressed!

I think Basil is looking very photogenic this afternoon, so thought I'd share 😁.

TheShellBeach · 06/05/2023 20:41

Here's Cleo.
She's DD's cat, who disappeared for three months and then reappeared through the cat flap when DD had lost all hope of seeing her again.

Tobias was seen again sneaking back upstairs in the morning. This time I had actually come down & was snuggling with Girlcat on the sofa when I caught sight of him slithering out of the living room door when he thought I wasn't looking.

In other news, my upper arm (left, the primary one) has been uncomfortable for a couple of weeks then suddenly got worse - enough so I don't think I can drive. Got DSis to drive me to the local minor injuries unit, and have been signed off for 2 weeks with strict instructions to a) not drive until it feels a lot better, b) not type or use a mouse for more than 2 hours a day max (less if it starts to hurt and c) self refer myself to physiotherapy. Though he did say I can go back earlier if I feel in much less pain. Not 100% sure of his diagnosis either; he implied shoulder but the pain started at the bottom of the Deltoid muscle, and that's still where the worst pain is.

Well pissed off! Due to start a big chunk of work next week that's quite important, plus I'm still on probation as I only started there in Jan. Plus I will get so bored at home not allowed to spend time on the PC. At least DSis has said she will drive me & Girlcat for Girlcat's MOT on Tuesday

And Sebastian, registering his disapproval of the new garden furniture.

Bit of role reversal this morning. Got up a bit late & took forever getting up & dressed. Girlcat came in the room a couple of times to chivvy me along. Eventually ready to go downstairs & popped into Tobias's room to say good morning & turn his radio on when I was startled by Girlcat leaping from the top of the linen rack & dashing out of the door.

He may not like me yet but Tobias is definitely doing the job he was brought in for, entertaining Girlcat 😀

Sebastian, Chloe - 😹

Boycat is lush.

💐 for the arm Allergic and 👏 for the cats - they’re both clearly merry as anything thanks to you. 🎉

Had to carry Havelock home last night after he watched telly all day. Coronation rain still going - he didn’t want to risk damp paws on the three-second journey. Prince snored through the whole thing, republican.
