AIBU to think my cat could have written a nicer message in my Mother's Day card?

AIBU to think my cat is really ungrateful? I opened my Mother's Day card and whilst it had a nice cat picture on the front, inside my cat had written "Happy Fucking Mothers Day you dickhead I'll bring in a dead mouse for you even though every day should be my fucking day now that's it fuck off".

After everything I have done for her, I think this quite a poor effort really and her punctuation is shit . She did sellotape a photo of herself and made the effort to draw a speech bubble to make it look as though the message was coming out of her mouth, but AIBU to think she could have made a bit more of an effort or at least write a nicer message?

PS Any DCs who helped her hold the pen in her paw are thankfully adults so at least she didn't expose a young child to her swearing.

PPS Cat isn't Thug Cat Wink although I suspect he is her role model.

I just got the dead mouse - no card ! count yourself lucky. A photo as well, i am so jealous

MyCatLovesMeReally · 19/03/2023 12:50

Well @colddrytoast I guess that counts a gift rather than a card, so I would be quite pleased with that, especially if she made the effort to actually kill the mouse before bringing it into the house.

(Funnily enough the DC who helped DCat write the card has a terrible mouse phobia so even writing the word was a meaningful gesture on her part at least).

Think yourself lucky, my cats card announced she has shat in my slippers, so that was nice! 😃😺

MonumentalLentil · 19/03/2023 13:12

I got a clump of wee with a tiny turd stuck to it. I am very lucky indeed.

AnotherDayOlder · 19/03/2023 13:14

Mine thoughtfully left some sick for me on the rug this morning. I guess if you squinted hard you could say it was vaguely heart shaped 😀

gazpachosoupday · 19/03/2023 13:16

mine is ignoring me because his other slave got the wrong type of food

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 19/03/2023 13:17

Not a cat owner but these are so cheering me up. Love takes many forms....

Mumuser124 · 19/03/2023 13:18

That made me laugh!

🤣

MissWired · 19/03/2023 13:21

I got a dried leaf in a hairball.

Homemade though, so I suppose it's the thought that counts.

MyCatLovesMeReally · 19/03/2023 13:30

God I would love to see this thread in AIBU proper, I'm guessing some people would actually take it seriously judging by today's shenanigans Wink

The heart shaped sick made we well up a bit, imagine the work that went into sicking that up into the right pattern. Also, the kindness of leaving it on the rug and not on the bottom step of the stairs. That's very thoughtful.

I'm imagining CatsNet yesterday:

I can't go to the shops so which is better - sick, turd or hairball?

My cat gave me a little treasure hunt as a gift today. Heard him pucking at 5am this morning….. still can’t find it. He’s so thoughtful, it’s kept me going all day so far looking for my present!

Happysalley · 19/03/2023 13:40

My dog rolled in dead seagull and then smeared the 'juice' all over the couch.

BlueKaftan · 19/03/2023 13:42

I got a cuddle in bed. I guess that’s the gift?

Clearly your cat is getting Mothers Day confused with the Easter egg hunt tradition. They really are useless, aren't they.

My cat took a shit next to me as I lay in the garden with a broken ankle calling for help, cats are dicks.

No! Really?! Now that is bad cat behaviour! What happened? I hope you're OK.

My friend once broke her ankle on a dog walk pre mobile phone days. She (literally) had to crawl through a field on her hands and knees to get home, and one of her dogs thought it was a joke and kept trying to jump onto her back. That was dog stupidity though, not sheer evil like your cat...

My cat sat on my daffodils while I did some weeding and was very unimpressed when I moved him. He immediately cleaned himself where I had touched him then suggested that I might like to admire his butt hole. Haven't seen him since.

whirlyhead · 19/03/2023 14:03

One of mine just stuck his butt out of his litter tray (the rest of him was in it) and pissed on the floor. Then he threw up on the rug. So my day has mostly been cleaning up cat fluid.

That cat hates us all though.

JoanOgden · 19/03/2023 14:03

I suggested to my cat that I should be allowed a lie-in this morning in honour of the occasion. This went down badly.

2bazookas · 19/03/2023 14:04

My cat often used to bring me a gift of dead mouse and leave it in my shoe or slipper. She never did send me a card, probably because we lived a long way from a post box.

Iquitforevermore · 19/03/2023 14:05

Mother's day cards from animals? I've never heard of this!

PiggyPlumPie · 19/03/2023 14:06

I had a fuckton of feathers strewn over the living room floor and a live bird on the curtain rail. No cat to be seen.

HerodAntipasti · 19/03/2023 14:07

Excuse me, could we please have PICTURES of all these useless fuckwits?

Thank you kindly.
