Thug cat part 5 - For he will not do destruction, if he is well-fed, neither will he spit without provocation.

Christopher Smart had clearly never met TC.
Due to popular demand (and a fear of lynching by the denizens of Mumsnet if I failed to comply) please find enclosed the 5th (🙀) thread about my NDN's cat.
For any new arrivals to this thread, TC is a stripy thug who spends most of his waking hours trying to break into our house. He doesn't get on with our cats (with the possible exception of Sybil, but only if she's in the mood). He currently is at war with Lenny.
He occasionally behaves like a perfect gentleman, his more normal MO however is to be a hissing spitting ball of teeth and claws.
For any one daft enough, here are the last 4000 posts about him
thread1
thread2
thread3
thread4
For anyone far too sensible to trawl through the above threads, here are a few of his photographic highlights. And yes, the last one is him on my kitchen table...

@70isaLimitNotaTarget
I wasn't wrong though was I?
And our stair carpet is absolutely wrecked too btw 🤣.

My stair carpet is looking increasingly threadbare. I am planning to replace it eventually but fear its successor will just end up in the same state. Madam has a new scratching post but ignores it, obviously.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/02/2024 21:28

Apart from the sad wreck that my stair carpet is (the bottom step has a fuzzy cotton wool look to it )

We have 2 cat towers in the lounge . One has all the sisal unravelled by tiny claws so I'm picking up bits

They scatter the litter liberally on the carpet

They bring in worms/half worms and leave them on the carpet

Walk past the hard floor (wipeable) to throw up grassy spit on the carpet .Male Cat threw up something so hideous if I hadn't actually seen it come out of his mouth I'd have sworn it came out of his bum

FemaleCat was given a Radiator Hammock for Christmas so she parks herself next to DH as he WFH

We have to make sure our adult DC will cat sit/house sit when we're away

The Male walks past the two cat scratching towers to attack the sofa . When we bought a new one we had to buy the same (Ikea) as it was a space that it had to fit in, changeable covers and he can fit under

And Feet are Fair Game

Good job we love these little ratbags

YetAnotherSpartacus · 07/02/2024 23:05

I refer to my carpet as the horizontal scratching post.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 09/02/2024 08:55

Can't help feeling that the poor helpless starving waif is looking just a bit rotund this morning I suspect he's stopped halfway up our steps to catch his breath.
Any comments @TCsDad? 🤣

He's back to normal! He was looking positively skeletal a while back, poor waif.

themadcatter · 09/02/2024 09:18

That face! 😹

RumNotRun · 09/02/2024 09:34

That's his winter coat, it just makes him look bigger. That's what my excuse is anyway so I'm sure it's the same for TC.

FuzzyManul · 09/02/2024 09:42

It is obvious that the poor starving waif has had to fluff out his coat to warm his skin-covered bones.

And he also needs the Big Coat to keep him warm during those long, lonely hours he's left abandoned and unloved outside in all weathers gazing in through Grumpy's windows waiting to be let in.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/02/2024 14:09

Awww you should spend a few hours tickling under his chins ...all of them .

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 09/02/2024 16:42

A positive TC-fest today.
Firstly Sybil and TC at the door.

I know who Harry Worth is but some TCFans might not be quite as ancient as me ....

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 09/02/2024 17:28

Bengals do that in the winter. It was once commented Asbo had got fat but it was his winter fur.

LostCats · 09/02/2024 20:04

Oh I’m so glad you said that Former as Eko has got very fat and I’ve been worrying.

RumNotRun · 09/02/2024 20:37

My dad used to do the Harry Worth thing. I didn't know that's where it came from though

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 09/02/2024 21:36

It’s Ekos winter fur and he will be svelte by April.

LostCats · 10/02/2024 11:24

Ah excellent thank you.
He seems to spend winter eating and sleeping and then summer he’s just not here as off questing

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/02/2024 10:26

It's so peaceful when they are blissfully unaware of each other.

LOL, love the updates! 😂

Our water gun strategy on the neighbourhood Bengal is working a treat!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/02/2024 10:33

Oh bless! Poor TC out in the cold as usual :(

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/02/2024 11:37

I think you need to get out there with your Karcher Pressure Washer (other brands are available) and if TC is a casualty of a soaking then ..... oops

Our very feisty female did her pieces yesterday at a totally innocent little grey/white cat whi had the damned cheek to walk through our front garden. I thought she'd have the curtain rail down Shock. Luckily the g/w cat was unaware of our cats fishwifey behaviour through the glass window .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/02/2024 11:43

Question @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

How do you manage to keep a wicker chair intact with 4 (potentially 5) cats in your house .
That would unravel like a bale of straw with our felines .

The cats do sometimes try to scratch these but they can't seem to really get their claws in. We've had these (from a garden centre) for 23 years and the chairs themselves are more or less indestructible. We have replaced the cushions once, and need to again.

The kitchen chairs however are a different story. I'm waiting for one to collapse under me at some point. 🤣
