Christopher Smart had clearly never met TC.
Due to popular demand (and a fear of lynching by the denizens of Mumsnet if I failed to comply) please find enclosed the 5th (🙀) thread about my NDN's cat.
For any new arrivals to this thread, TC is a stripy thug who spends most of his waking hours trying to break into our house. He doesn't get on with our cats (with the possible exception of Sybil, but only if she's in the mood). He currently is at war with Lenny.
He occasionally behaves like a perfect gentleman, his more normal MO however is to be a hissing spitting ball of teeth and claws.

I see it's gone all quiet now. I'm guessing TC has won and is gently knawing on the bones of the conquered, previously gloating, "warrior ". Perhaps your precious furries have decamped to the safety of next door where there is , apparently, a feline sized vacancy 😂

Arrived back from our holidays this afternoon to be met by TC on our doorstep. He was NOT impressed that we didn't immediately roll put the red carpet for him, so after repeatedly trying to get inside while we were bringing luggage in, he then sat at the foot of the stairs swiping either me, or the bag I was carrying, or both, at every pass. Hats off to Karl who stood at the door hissing at him 😻.
Our absence seems to have made TC even fonder...

Aaah, so good to know that all is well in TC world, he will be happy now that you and Mrs Grumpy are back to provide his entertainment 😹

NDN has confessed that while we were on holiday he went in to feed the cats but had failed to notice that TC had broken in during the previous feed, so unawares he had SHUT HIM IN. He walked in to find FIVE cats in the kitchen demanding food with menaces. 🙀

Nice weather today so TC is taking full advantage of the facilities (and also stopping Basil from coming in.)

So....five cats shut in the kitchen overnight, and no bloodshed? Makes me think that the so-called enmity is but an elaborate hoax perpetrated by all five, solely for their own entertainment.😹😼

Don't believe it was overnight and they have free run of the house - but I'm amazed that there was no evidence of fighting. Your theory may be correct 😁.

Most cats are masters of caterwauling and have no need for a human to be involved at all for that. But cat yodelling is different. It takes both cat vocalist and human slave to perform the art of cat yodelling.
